I was a little concerned about booking here after reading about the deer and squirrels on site as I was travelling with my ex hunting dog with a huge prey drive!

There were no problems as squirrels were seen but not actually on site and the deer stayed on the golf course next door!

A great site, lots of walking from the site - didn’t move my van all week!

Walks with different levels of challenge and lots of cyclists around.

Loved this place and the staff were great.

This site is in a stunning location in the valley between beautiful hills.

Had a good flat pitch on hard standing, nice and open for the sun although one day was very wet. Drained well.

Lovely friendly, helpful owner. We didn’t use the facilities but the bunk house room was well equipped with fridge, microwave etc and lots of information on walks.

Also an area to cook under cover by it. Plenty of things to do. Arran distillery is interesting even if not a whisky lover, the walk to the loch and castle is flat across the pitch n put and it’s a lovely walk around Newton along the coast to Fairy Dell.

Do visit Stags pavilion (need to book well in advance) and the sandwich station. Both excellent.

Lots of red deer about and heard the cuckoo several times, a rarity now. Ideal also for popping on the ferry to Kintyre to continue your tour.

Thoroughly recommend. Ps. Pitch n put looked great fun too.

Another wonderful weeks holiday at Lochranza Campsite. Weather was great, midges not so great but only on a couple of nights and worth bearing.

This site is like a second home to us as we have been visiting for many years.

The site is beautiful, the facilities well maintained and spotless and the staff are just wonderful. The best campsite in Scotland in our eyes.

Lovely site fortunately handy for the ferry given our broken tandem. Welcome and intro to the facilities was first class. The staff could not have been more helpful.

As we'd planned to cycle futher the food donations box came in very handy (as we'd planned to get further along the island to a shop, there being no shop in Lochranza).

There is a lounge room with free electric charging and books. There is also a covered cooking area for those with small stoves if its raining, recycling and composting. Showers hot and well designed so you step up out of them, so no wet shoes.

There is a river down the side of the site which adds useful white noise to the location, but it was very quiet anyway. The biggest issue for us was the hot sunny day turned into lots of midges in the evening.

This was a site on a par with the big Camping and Caravanning Club sites and one I would definitely come back to.

Lovely site with good views. 5 stags on the pitch and putt next to to the site!

Excellent toilets and showers. Very friendly wardens.

Close to the Lochranza distillery which has an excellent shop. We would return.

Stayed on both the hard standing (but like a car park tbh) and a grass pitch.

Grass pitch saved us £6 per night and was just as good, if not better, kinder on the feet.

Everything was OK, nothing mind blowing, but OK. Busy but clean. (seemed to be more a LOT of staff for such a small site, we lost track of who was who, guest or staff ? )

Great scenery and wildlife (deer get very close and personal) something the site is trying to discourage.

As a stop off point it was OK.

Don't expect anything for the kid to do other than go for walks or play some "pitch and put" (which at £4 / £6 per game was a tad expensive to bat a ball about and dodge the deer s**t)

Other than the showers and electric if you need it, not much better than a wild camp spot.

Superb location. Good clean facilities and friendly helpful staff.

A simple, quiet site sympathetic to it's environment and suited to it's picturesque situation.

The scenery surrounding the site is spectacular. Location was great. Accessible bus route. Wildlife amazing.

Excellent walking routes. Site staff very friendly and welcoming.

Ongoing cleaning of communal areas. I would definitely recommend a visit to Lochranza Distillery which is adjacent to the site.

I would rate this site 9.

Lovely location and a lovely site to go with it.

So tranquil, unless you count the grazing red deer that make the site even more charming.

Good facilities, well-managed by the owners during Covid's lockdown.

Highly recommended.

This is a well kept site with friendly helpful wardens. The views and walks from the site are very good.

There is a restaurant just outside of the site gates but that was fully booked when we were there. We had a dog with us so took full advantage of the walks locally.

The showers and toilets had good COVID systems in place and were clean and regularly serviced.

Small numbers of deer are regularly on site over encouraged by those who feed them; which is probably not a good idea!
