Stayed there from Friday to Sunday 18th and had a great time. Owner greeted us on Friday and was helpful friendly and let us pitch tent anywhere. We opted for spot by the river, fabulous views, great location for walking, very quiet and relaxing at night too ! would definitely recommend and. Will return in the summer !
If you get the chance, the walk up the gorge beside the brewery, literally 50yards from campsite, offers scenery you wont see anywhere else, after a rainy Friday the waterfalls were fabulous on Saturday ! A must see and a must visit site too :-)

What a brilliant site. First time we have been to Arran and stayed here for six nights. Fees were reasonable. Showers and toilets Okay. The weather got better the longer we were there which made for a fantastic time.
Numerous deer on the site and other wildlife close by. We liked the ad hoc way we could pitch up, not the usual regimented style at most other sites.
The site is quiet, there was a tent user with his car radio too loud and was told to turn it down.
In a nutshell, a fantastic site and we will be back.

Superb location and run by friendly, helpful and experienced owners. The facilities are spotless and there is a campers room with lots of information on the local area and wildlife and regular weather updates.
Perfect center to explore Arran with on site shop and cafe/restaurant and an hotel and distillery within walking distance.
We called in on our way north and enjoyed it so much we returned for 3 days later in the holiday.
The most enjoyable campsite we found on our 3 weeks motorcycle tour of Scotland.

This is a delightfully situated site, surrounded by dramatic mountains and close to the sea shore. The owners are enthusiastic about the site and their role, as well as being very knowledgeable about the area.
The site feels welcoming from the moment you enter and the owners go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. They are keen walkers and kayakers and can provide expert advice. This site is ideal for a quiet holiday
The site and its facilities are kept very clean and tidy.Toilets and showers are spotless. There are electric hook-ups. The reception area has information about the area - wildlife, walks, cycle rides and local attractions. There is a camper's lounge. The site has a 9 hole golf course in a beautiful setting.
In the immediate area there are numerous opportunities to enjoy the wildlife. Indeed Red Deer visit the site and eagles are in the immediate vicinity! Nearby there is Lochranza Castle, good access to the Arran Coastal Way and the ferry to Kintyre.
The site is close enough to Brodick for the main island ferry (14 miles) and to access larger shops and of course Brodick Castle. It is also well placed to reach the western shore of the island with its dramatic cliff scenery.
Adjacent to the site there is a well stocked shop and a very good Italian restaurant.
The village has a good butcher and hotel
I thoroughly recommend this site.

On a shoe string, we travelled across from Glasgow, with a £12 asda tent, no proper camping things and a couple of disposable bbq's.
The East coast bike ride was tricky, we are not at experienced at that either, but it was sure worth it. Lochranza is a beautiful quiet village and the campsite was one of the best we have stayed at.
The campsite is set in a lovely mountainous valley, with a stream running by. The stags hang out in the lovely evening light and sheep ba in the background.
The bathrooms were cleaner than our own, and the showers were hot and free. The campsite is well worth the £13 per night, especially when you think its cheaper than the £15 bottle of wine in the local pub ten mins walk away.
Yes the food/drink are island prices. On a tight budget, we brought a few things with us, but if you are cycling, you can free your weight a little, as the local shop is pretty good.
Sausages are under £3, fruit and vege etc. The shop does not sell alcohol. If you enjoy a tipple with your sausages you can always buy wine from the distillery across the road for £7.
If you are feeling lazy in the morning, or your disposable bbq's have all burnt out, you can get a bacon butty from the busy restaurant next to the shop for £3.
The £12 tent stood well in the nights 'train' -strong wind. But we were cold in the evening (April), so bring your long johns. It would be great if the owners sold things like disposable bbq's and maybe even hired out pitched tents, to make the ride lighter but we cant complain.
You can always take the bus.

Stayed here for 4 nights and returned a week later for 4 more as we absolutely loved this site. Watched Golden Eagles flying over the crags and Red Deer grazing amongst the units.
Nigel and kathy (aka action man and woman) who do everything from greenkeeping to all site running were extremely friendly and helpful, and lent us gas when we had a problem with our on board gas.
One of the most stunning locations we have ever stayed at. Toilet, shower facilities are reasonable and kept very clean and tidy. On site golf course was an added bonus and Nigel and Kathy are enthusiastic to keep improving the course. It's not often you have to lob over a herd of Red Deer to the green, marvellous, great memories.
Arran is one of the nicest places we have visited and we shall return, definitely to this site.
The adjacent Stags Pavilion is an excellent restaurant serving lovely meals throughout the day and evening, we thought good value.
Thought the local pub was overpriced and uninviting, better go a little further to Catacol Bay hotel, where we had a good meal and some nice real ale.

Stayed for 3 nights in October during the red deer rut. An awesome sight having stags challenging each other just outside van although the downside was being kept awake at night.
I agree with previous positive comments about the site and the managers/owners. One factor that has not been mentioned is that the site is on the 'right side' of the glen for holding the evening sun while the other side of the road was in shadow much earlier.
The cafe in the distillery, a 5 minute walk away was very good and reasonably priced. I have stayed on the site in previous years when I have not seen any owner/manager so it was very pleasant having such friendly people running the site this year.

What a gem of a place to stay. Beautiful setting surrounded by mountains, a stream running down to the sea which is just visible across the golf course.
Nothing is too much trouble for the site owners Nigel and Kathy and they keep the amenities spotlessly clean, with a free hairdryer, endless hot water in the showers, toilet area, wash basins and covered washing up area.
There is a useful room set aside for those not so good days with sink, fridge, microwave, kettle and settees with info leaflets, and books/magazines to borrow and adjoining this is a separate room with large washing machine and large laundrette type dryer, iron and ironing board.A charge was made for these three laundry items. Plenty of electric hook points and water points too, but the CDP does need some attention but was adequate.
There is a restaurant (English/Chinese) at site entrance and although we had a meal there one night, which was fine, I was not impressed
When he charged me £2.50 for a loaf of bread on our first night! Do make sure you are well stocked. There is an excellent village shop at Pirnmill which is about 6 miles away down the west of the island with an equally excellent restaurant next door called the Lighthouse. The owners of both establishments are very welcoming. There is a distillery nearly opposite the site entrance which has a cafe/restaurant that would be another option. A tour of the island is a must, by car or bus. Whiting Bay and Lamlash are well worth a visit and of course Brodick the main town has all the retail you need. There are so many other small
Places with interesting things to see.
.Go explore. This is a thoroughly relaxing and laid back place to stay with amazing wildlife and
Scenery but without the brash amenities of some of commercial sites. Visit their web site.It says it exactly as it is.

Arrived late 10.15pm having booked ahead and as the sign in reception stated, just found a pitch and parked up. Lovely views and plenty of photos, deer walking around as though they owned the place which was nice.
Slightly expensive but the views and location are breathtaking, toilets and showers whilst free could do with an update. The butcher down the road was a massive let down, the bacon was from Holland and he didn't seem to have much in apart from 2 rather tired looking pork steaks, which naturally were given a wide berth.
Lochranza is a lovely place, with stunning views, would stay again but probably only for one night.
