Brilliant peaceful site where red deer roam freely over the adjacent golf course. The campsite is reasonably level with some hard standings. We chose a pitch overlooking the golf course where we could watch the deer close up. The only downside was the heavy rain over one day which resulted in our breathable groundsheet allowing the rainwater through. A bit squelchy to say the least.
The toilet and shower facilities are spotlessly clean. There is a dish wash area outside the toilet block. You can observe the deer here too munching the grass only feet away from you. There is a walk round the edge of the golf course which leads to the bay where you will find Lochranza Castle. It is such a beautiful place. Golden Eagles are in the hills behind the distillery. We watched one soaring overhead for almost two hours. The cuckoos are never far away either.
Just outside the campsite is the Stag Pavilion Restaurant which serves up wonderful food throughout the day except Wednesday. It's so popular you have to book. Across the road is the distillery. What more could you ask for.
I wish we were still there.

This site sits adjacent to the golf course in one of the most beautiful places on Arran.
We were thrilled to see the deer on the site and the eagle up on the crags.
The site is quite basic. But what else do you need in such a location.
The toilet facilities and dish washing area were clean and tidy but at times we did felt as though we were being watched by the site warden.
The Stag's Restaurant adjacent to the site does good meals.

Really good site with friendly helpful staff.
Toilets and showers immaculate with lots of hot water.
The setting is spectacular, words just can't do it justice and as for the sunset over Lochranza Castle!
Deer roam through the village and golf course quite unperturbed and adding to the atmosphere.
On the adjacent immaculately maintained 9 hole golf course, green fees plus hire of clubs is £10. 00 for camp site customers, beat that!.
The restaurant on site was fully booked during our stay so can't comment but its popularity speaks volumes.
You must try the Sandwich Station opposite the Lochranza ferry slip for a huge and imaginative range of fillings and coffee.
Only caveat as with most of the West of Scotland at this time of year - take plenty of midge repellent.

First visit to this site and couldn't fault it. Very friendly, caring owners. All facilities first class and spotless whatever time of day it was. A very peaceful site, advertised as the quiet site and it was. The location is lovely, a stroll across the golf course to the bay. No local shop though for provisions so stock up before you go!

We came last year and found the new owners had already made considerable improvements to the site
The one thing we thought needed attention was the toilets and showers which were in sad need of replacement or refurbishment
Imagine our delight to see the new facilities this year. Beautifully designed and including heating
The site remains a lovely location regularly visited by the local deer. The owners are very good about checking the site is in good order but I have never seen a deer droppings patrol in operation until we visited this site!
The owners are a lovely couple who take great pride in the site
We made good use of the local bus this time as we stayed for a week which saved us moving the van when we wanted to go out. One driver even dropped us at the site gates!
A fantastic site and we will be back

One of the most wonderful places we had during the last twenty years touring in Scotland: the landlord and his wife were extremely friendly and helped us to find the right place for our tent, the facilities were very clean although it is a very busy place. The campsite is in an excellent condition, everything was perfect. We felt so comfortable there and will definitely return. Playing golf just beside the campsite was a great experience, too.

This is the third time we have visited this site and even went out of our way after landing at Oban from Outer Hebrides to visit the site to have a game of golf and a meal in the Stag Restaurant. The site is excellently run and facilities are A1 as always. The site deer are something else and what an attraction. The distillery across the road is worth a mention as well as it is a shopping paradise for presents.
Will be back again hopefully

An incredibly well run campsite set in a quiet and beautiful location on Arran. The owners are very friendly, take personal pride in their site and will go out of their way to ensure that your stay goes smoothly.
The facilities were clean and of a high standard, and there was a focus on detail e. G. Stickers and pen next to the fridge for labelling milk etc.
Pirnmill Village Stores was the nearest shop we found to the campsite, 6 miles away (which wasn't a problem - nice journey next to the coastline). However, basics such as milk and bread are available on site.
Locally, there is plenty to explore. I would recommend the Fairy Dell walk which is walkable from the site. This takes a few hours (with children) and follows the coastline down near the shore, and then rises up so you can take in some stunning views. If it is raining, you can head off to the nearby distillery.
Overall, a great site and we will definitely be visiting again.

Beautiful site. Very clean and quiet. Very friendly owners made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. Amazing having the deer just casually strolling through the park, my daughter loved it. One thing I will advise is. Bring lots of insect repellent and after bite treatment as the downside to having the lovely deer at your doorstep is that they also attract horseflies! Other than that, I cannot fault a single thing :) will definitely come again.

In a beautiful location, this site is an ideal base to visit the Island of Arran and enjoy a trip to Kintyre the ferry being just two minutes down the road by car. It is 14 miles from Brodick and the Ardrossan Ferry, but the road passes through scenery which is worth seeing many times. Our motorhome at 35'in length plus car and trailer made the journey without incident.
The owners are very friendly and helpful, they even brought a table and bench unit nearer to our pitch when we had family visit for a bbq. Nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of electric hook ups and a choice of hard standingin or grass pitches, with a good area for tents.
The facilities are brilliant, toilets and showers are beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, the water hot and free. There is a laundry including commercial dryer and drying cupboard and washing line the choice is yours. There are washing up facilities and a campers lounge with heaps of information about local attractions and what's on this week on Arran. There is also information on local walks, buses and ferry times and a small shop for camping supplies.
There is a restaurant in the car park outside, the golf course alongside and the distillery and café almost opposite. The bus stop is outside the distillery. The Arran Butcher van with fresh meat calls twice a week.
The local deer visit regularly and pose happily for photographs! There are no specific things for children but there is loads of space to play and run around. We spent a fortnight but hope to return again in the future.
