This site is in a fantastic location with great facilities and lovely managers. We did feel that the tents were packed in a bit at the far end of the site (as did all of our lovely neighbours). The site was very wet but the summer weather has been appalling this year.
We had to move our tent after the first night because the ground was so wet. We had one of the worst nights ever in a tent here, sustained 45mph winds and torrential rain, the wind whips up the valley and then turns round and comes back down again. Our tent was fine but there were 10 tents and awnings lost in one night!
You can walk across the golf course to the bay with a castle ruin, there is a restaurant on the way into the site (think it is the golf course restaurant), we didn't use it but a fellow camper said it was very good.
Showers, loos, laundry, good washing up area, free putting on the golf course, room with books, microwave, kettle.
Lots to like. £25 a night for two adults, child plus dog.

Spent very enjoyable few days in this beautifully located and well maintained campsite. Very handy for the ferry and for the Arran Distillery over the road. We were very lucky with the weather, as it stopped raining the moment we arrived and then only rained at night! However, do not rely on buying much food locally. Restaurant next door was always fully booked, sandwich shop was closed due to unforeseen circumstances the day we arrived and nearest shop selling any food (apart from a butcher that was closed by 4pm the day we arrived) was 6 miles further round the coast. If you're self catering (which you definitely will be if you have a dog), stock up before you leave Brodick! Watch out for the seagulls - we saw one steal an 8oz steak from our neighbours and then devour it in front of them. The next night it rifled through some cyclists unattended bags of food and took a bit of everything.

This is a quiet site with a few trees and bushes by the side of the local Golf Course with which they share booking offices. We had a level pitch with a hookup about 20 or so m from the stream and with good views of the hills. Shower, washing and dishwashing facilities are all quite good and regularly cleaned.
It's an easy walk into Lochranza which is a small village, really without much in the way of shops so stock up before you come here. We had some good walks around the coast- Huttons Unconformity is apparently a big thing for geology fans. We didn't visit the distillery it heard it was good - we were saving ourselves for Islay. Location is ideal for the ferry to The Mull of Kintyre.
Negative - there were midges, quite a lot too, morning and night.

Great site with great location - ideal for a couple of days of staying put and just walking or whatever activity takes your fancy. Restaurant next door with BYOB policy - books up quickly though, as does campsite so booking ahead is recommended. Ideal for ferry to Kintyre. Small lounge area with oodles of info and a warm place to sit in if weather is inclement. Owner really knows what punters require for a site. Caters for all comers, which we love as clientele are then an eclectic bunch

Originally we were going to stay on the south of the island for a few days but decided to motor on up the west coast road to Lochranza - and it was definitely the right choice
The wardens were really helpful (owners away for the week), pitches easy to locate and the facilities excellent
Midges were a pain but they keep a stock of sprays in the camp office which actually work
There are plenty of showers, toilets and pot wash facs - always clean and tidy
Our pitch was hard standing, next to a hook up, water and grey waste, and well drained which was a boon after we had torrential rain overnight - there are deer which roam the site and a footpath takes you through the golf course to the bay - great for dog walking and great for walking the hills and coastline
There's a bus stop outside the site entrance which takes you to the main town Brodick and around the island
This site is excellent - we palnned stopping a couple of days and stopped four
We'll be back

A beautiful site in stunning, rugged surroundings, very close to Lochranza Bay. Let's get the midges dealt with first, because it's the only fly in the ointment (pun intended). They're just a feature of life. Everything else is superb. The owners are a lovely, helpful, friendly couple who work constantly to keep the site immaculate, even down to a daily round of deer poo disposal. Yes, really. That's dedication. All facilities are beyond any criticism. If you're towing, be aware that the road from Brodick is fairly narrow and winding in places and very bumpy. Slow and easy is the way to avoid getting caught out. The surroundings en route are well worth it, though. Also, dead slow into Lochranza so as not to miss the site entrance. If you do overshoot, you can turn with care in the Lochranza Castle approach road, but otherwise it's a long way to the next safe turning point. The golf course is part of the site if you're a golfer and the deer are fascinating. You'll need a torch at night to avoid coming face to face. We loved The Sandwich Station by the pier. Lovely people and real top notch food. We can't wait to return as soon as possible.

Booked this site as it was closest to the ferry and meant that we did not have to travel on the roads in Arran, which are not the smoothest or widest.
The site is great as previous reviewers have stated, midges - well it is Scotland so be prepared and they are no problem. Toilets spotless, showers hot and enough room to be comfortable. Lots of walking straight off the site and plenty to see a bit further afield. Loads of information available in the lounge.
Our only criticism was the deer. Although the owners cleaned droppings from the site each day the dogs still managed to find them. Both dogs treated with tick spot on but that only meant that the ticks dropped off in the caravan.
One dog became critically ill very soon after we returned home, our vet said it could have been caused by ticks.
So a great site but keep a close eye on your dog.
One star dropped for very poor drainage at the water points which were boggy and never drained away while we were there.

This site is an absolute gem!
Firstly the location - getting there from the ferry at Brodick is just the most spectacular road, along the coast where we were lucky enough to see seals in the bay near Brodick Castle, then up over the hills before final descending into Lochranza. There are beautiful walks aplenty - our border collie had a great time. Oh and just to add the site has its own nine hole golf course where you can walk the fairways alongside the resident deer herds! And the distillery is about 400 yards across the road.
The site has electric and non-electric tent pitches as well as hard standing and grass pitches for caravans and three 'pods'.
The toilets/showers and dishwashing facilities are always clean and tidy and there was always hot water. There's a room with washing and drying facilities and a lounge with all sorts of local information and details of everything you'd need to know about the island.
Our hosts Nigel and Kathy were fantastic - they always seemed to be on hand and have a wealth of local knowledge to share. When we arrived Nigel was just about to head for the pier to help the 'Waverley' paddle steamer dock.
We visited the site last year and were keen to return (this time with our 16 year old daughter who loved it!). Despite catching the tail end of Hurricane Bertha we still had a great time - can't wait to go back!

A fantastic campsite with fantastic owners. The owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The facilities are clean and functional, and the toilets never ran out of toilet paper! There are lots of sinks for washing up under cover. I especially liked the camper's lounge and useful microwave and kettle. The fridge is quite small and we didn't use it, preferring to rely on your own coolbox. The lounge and reception area are full of information and useful wildlife id guides are available, while weather forecast are posted daily and information/suggestions about things to do are also updated daily. The surroundings are sublime apart from the dreaded midge, which is just a feature of Scottish camping that you have to accept (but take a head net or buy one from the shop in reception). Red deer are all around and often in the campsite. Golden eagles nest in the cargs above and can be seen soaring above the glen. Red squirrels are also often seen but we did not see any during the four days we were there. Good eating options in Lochranza hotel and the Arran distillery across the road. Fantastic walks right from the campsite.

Amazing views with wild deer roaming the site.
Truly a heavenly place.
I would recommend this quiet site if you want a relaxing break in a lovely location.
