Excellent site, great pub, friendly staff, good food. Our first trip out in our campervan with our dog so we needed somewhere close to home in case anything went wrong (thankfully it didn't, despite splitting an awning pole trying to put it up in a raging gale!)
Well maintained hard-standing pitches provided great views across the Flagg Bowl.
Well signed walks in various directions direct from the site.
Would have rated it higher had the 'dogs on leads at all times' rule been observed by everyone else - someone's dog left a substantial deposit at the back of our pitch and several dogs were allowed to run free (within the environs of their respective pitches but still off leads)
Toilet/washroom areas kept clean and fresh with a daily clean, plenty of hot water in the free showers but the addition of hooks to hang clothes on would be useful.

Drove passed this place a few times so decided it was time to turn in and give it a go lol
Lovely site with fantastic views of the peak district
Toilet and shower block nice and kept clean, showers nice and hot.
There's 3 walks straight from the site to various villages and along tissington tail
The staff were very friendly and helpful
The pub is dog friendly and the food was home cooked and amazing.
The only thing I will say is there is a fair bit on road noise during the day and into the evening as the main road is very busy until the early evening, but don`t let that put you off trying this brilliant site.
We will deffo be going back soon as its on our doorstep :)

Bridget and Gary very welcoming and have a warm and cosy public house to match. Food above average and staff very accommodating.
Showers free and clean as were the toilets.
Good walks for ramblers.
Well worth a visit.
Well done Bridget and Gary

Site was well presented and tidy and, for the time of year quite busy. Friendly and efficient on arrival, and the pub is lovely - cosy, dog friendly and good food and drinks. Toilet and shower block was spotless and warm. Great views from the pitch
Only downsides - it’s close to a main road and the traffic noise can be quite obtrusive. Some of the pitches seemed quite close together especially for larger units - had we put up an awning there wouldn’t have been much room between us and next door
A minor gripe - we tow a small car behind our M/H but we were asked to leave it on the pub carpark even though there was plenty of room for it on our hard standing - can’t really see the distinction between us and much bigger caravan tow cars which were allowed on pitches

What a wonderful site this is. Gary was wonderful helping us when we first arrived.
All well appointed hard standing pitches some on an incline but you are in the Derbyshire dales. Stunning views from the site.
The toilet and shower blocks were spotlessly clean.
Pub staff were warm and friendly and the Sunday roast was lush.
Bridget and her team worked tirelessly to accommodate everyone. A great base to explore the dales

Good food in pub. Nice staff. Lots to do
Ashbourne beautiful scenic place to visit.
Buxton well worth a visit too.

Site is well located and a short drive from Buxton with a slightly longer drive to Bakewell.
All the pitches in the main area are hard standing with power and a shared water tap. Most pitches looked mainly level.
There are numerous walks from site including the high peak trail just across the road.
The shower and toilets were clean with plenty of hot water for the showers.
The pub served very good meals and had a good atmosphere. Dogs are allowed in the bar area which was a bonus for us.
We will probably return to this site and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Tried to book here for a few nights, exactly what we like as it is a pub site so able to eat etc without too much cooking.
We have a 8. 2 mtr tag axle motorhome, which I can drive competently without mishaps, I was told very abruptly that they do not accept anything over 7. 5 mtr because of possible damage and there may be access problems. Looking at Google maps you could bet a 40 footer in there.
