Excellent site location just north of Bamburgh. Peter was extremely kind and helpful.
Lovely dark skies area and site was most peaceful and quiet from about 10pm onwards.
Lots of hot water when you wanted it and toilet and shower block did the job fine.
Parking was fine but if the site had been full I do believe that it could have been a little challenging.
Will definitely use this site again when up in the area.

A great site for families, lots to do and the paddling pools were great.
The site is ideally situated as a base for days out to places like Alnwick castle, Seahouses and Bamborough castle as well as lots of other places of interest.
The food on site was very good and the service was ok considering Covid restrictions.
The toilets and showers are a little dated but kept clean, and there is plenty of hot water.
The rating would have been higher if it was not for Covid restrictions.
Will definitely be staying again.

Unfortunately the site did not offer great value for money. It was quite expensive for the experience we had. The site was massively overcrowded and the facilities are very poor. Tents were pitched pretty much back to back with cars frequently passing in front of the tent. The facilities were filthy and lots of toilets/taps/showers were not working, plus we weren’t sure how frequently they were cleaned as they smelled very bad - even the washing up area smelled bad.
The bin area was constantly overflowing and we saw rats on numerous occasions.
Despite paying for the more expensive pitch “by the river” we were on the opposite side of the site from the facilities and right near the play park. Plus there was a busy road on the other side of the river which makes relaxing quite difficult!
There were lots of groups playing music each day/night, despite the website saying strictly no music allowed.
There are lots of amazing things to do nearby but nothing within walking distance and no pubs/restaurants/supermarkets that could be reached on foot.
Finally, the photos showcased on the UK Campsite page for this campsite are not accurate. They must be very old as the campsite we visited is almost unrecognisable compared to the pictures shown. Complete false advertisement.
Needless to say we are very disappointed in our visit and will not be staying again.

Dog friendly on site however there are no areas within easy walking distance to take dogs off the lead as the site is bordered by a main road and private land.
The beach is advertised as within walking distance, not the case with young children and/ or dogs as the route involves relatively busy B roads without defined paths

Nice friendly welcome and good sized pitch, ehu included in price however we didn't require but still had to pay for it.
Toilets and showers OK, wash up area with use of fridge.
Site was fully booked and was very busy and noise was a problem for us.

I have no idea how this site scores so well. Possibly the worst campsite we have ever encountered.
Pitches - small at best. Narrow and not very deep. We have a ‘large’ pitch. The tent was the full width and car at the front left little space for anything else. The neighbours were within touching distance on both sides.
Facilities - grim! Dirty, dated, too small for the no of users. No children height sinks. My asthmatic great aunt puffs harder than the hand drier. Lack of toilet roll most days. Located at the farthest end of the site so a long walk.
Bins - one compound - overflowing most of the time.
The place just needs a good tidy up. There is rubbish and broken equipment laying all over the place.
At over £45 a night for a tent (be wary - the extras add up pretty quickly - they charge for everything!) - just not enough for a new toilet brush and some big roll!

We arrived at 12. 40 to find the office was closed 12-14. 00. Walked to the toilet and was met by the owner who was rude & unwelcoming. Toilets were closed for cleaning 12-14. 00. Directed to use the toilet at reception. This was difficult to locate as it resembled a cupboard. The door did not open properly and had no lock. There was no ceiling, pieces of hardboard were scattered over the rafters. Washbasin had cold water only. Reception area is untidy with equipment, bikes and general clutter. At 14. 10 a pleasant young man directed us to our pitch. This was not large enough to have our caravan & awning (which we had paid for) and our car. The site is overcrowded & crammed. Facilities aredirty, ground in dirt on floors etc. Sink plugs would around taps and rusty. We decided to leave ASAP, no refunds allowed even for the awning that we could not erect. Read the T& C’s, no refunds for any reason, £10 per hr if you book in late! Have to pay up front. Expensive for a dreadful site. The road to the site is unsafe to walk on. This is a ‘Dark skies’ site, this means it has no lighting so take a torch. The site has potential if the owner tidied it up, spaced the pitches and invested in new facilities.

Just spent two nights at this site (3adults 2 children. 7 and 4). We all wished we could have stayed longer. Hopefully next year.
The site has changed a lot since we (adults) were here last. The facilities are excellent, spotlessly clean considering the amount of people on site.
The pitches are all marked and properly separated. There is a lovely park for the kids. There are a couple of fridges and freezers for you to use.
The only downsides are:- you aren’t allowed to arrive before 2pm and the little tuck shop is not open long enough.
