Lovely child friendly site my children enjoyed fishing using the swimming pool, TV room and the play areas. The toilets/showers were the most up to date and cleanest that we have encountered whilst camping and will be hard to beat for next years camping trip. We will be returning. The pitch size was enormous but we did book an XL one but in hindsight a regular one would have been fine. Only one downside we were in an open position and it was quite windy at times.

We have just returned from a 13 night stay at Ninham with my fiancé and our 3 children (aged 2, 7 and 11) and have already booked to return back next year. We stayed on The Orchard in plot 44 which was very close to the new toilet block, washing-up facilities, water point, chemical disposal and laundrette. The pool, games room and parks were only a few minutes walk away as well. All facilities were clean and well maintained and had absolutely no reasons at all to complain – the staff were extremely helpful. There was no noise from the site after about 10pm and our fellow campers were very pleasant and friendly. The site is well positioned for most of the island’s tourist attractions and everything is within a short drive away. Morrison’s is within walking distance. We would definitely recommend this site.

We have camped for over 40 years, starting in tents, trailer tents and now my husband and I in a Caravan and this is my first review!
Ninham is beautiful green site and, it seems, with all the facilities you might need - and you would expect excellence for over £346. 50 for two people and a small van with awning for two weeks.
We booked in March at the same time as son and daughter and their children each with trailer tents. We asked to be together. On arrival we were told that the rule is, tents in one bay of the field and caravans in the other - we accepted it with some disappointment, but rules are rules. HOWEVER, by the end of the 2 weeks the families' trailer tents were surrounded by caravans and we, in the caravan, had tents pitched alongside us. When I questioned this I was told the caravans in the tent bay were 'regulars' who wanted to be together and were prepared to put up with a slope. Funny really since where we were we had one wheel on a chock and two back legs chocked up to deal with a backward and sideways slope!
I complained about the cleanliness of the 1970's, very tired shower block. First I was told 'it was inspected yesterday and clean'. I pointed out putting blu down the loo and leaving poo on the toilet rim does not constitute clean, nor finding long hairs stuck to the tiles in the shower but with the shower mat hung up to 'show' they had been cleaned. It's the contract cleaners - was the excuse. Later that day they did get a good scrub, but I pointed out to the owner that they should be checking so visitors don't have to complain.
The washing machines cost £2. 50 for a 20 min quick wash but there is no sink for a hand wash unless you use the pot and veg cleaning sinks which are in the same place. No bin in the pot washing area so a discarded ice cream container was filled with food scraps, fluff from the wash machines and other rubbish and left over 4 days (smelly). In frustration I took it up to the office. Additionally, 2 fluorescent tubes were removed and propped up against a wall for 3 days leaving the area in darkness at night. We were concerned about kids’ safety and told them in reception – only then were they removed and new lights fitted.
There is a new shower block but it is in the top field and a long walk.
Wifi is £3. 50 per hour and all the games in the games room require money to activate them.
The pool is excellent.
It's a beautiful site to look at in a convenient situation for beaches - but so is everywhere on the island. Unfortunately it failed to meet our expectations, especially at the prices charged.

Just had 2 weeks at Ninham.
Location - excellent. Set well back from the main road, it's very peaceful. Morrisons is a short drive, Lidl a few minutes further.
Swimming Pool - small but heated, so comfortable. Inflatables are allowed in the pool after 4pm.
Pitches - Varied sizes. The one we were allocated was 30% smaller than the on the other side of the aisle. We were on Willow Brook, and pitches sloped quite a lot. Struggled to fit the tent on.
Showers/Toilets - On Willow Brook the facilities are exceptionally dated, and not particularly well maintained or clean (we saw them being cleaned once in 2 weeks). That being said, the showers were better than in the new block at the other end of the site - warmer/higher pressure.
Dishwash/Laundry - 3 sinks, 2 with plugs, one without. No bin. Again, not cleaned. Someone left an ice cream tub. 4 days later it was overflowing with rubbish.
There is one washing machine and one tumble dryer in Willow Brook. Each needs a £2. 50 token from reception
Staff: The ladies in reception were very polite and helpful. However, a couple of the wardens patrolled the site and enforced the law with military precision - I honestly thought they were going to get a tape measure out to see how far over the pitch marker my wing mirror was (despite the next pitch being vacant).
Overall, I can't fault the location of the site itself, but the site management needs a bit of a rethink. We asked for 3 units to be placed together, yet one of the units was placed on the other side of the hedge as we were told that no caravans were allowed on the section the tents were on. Yet, the day before we left the field was filled with caravans.
We also had a text message from the site the night before departure telling us to vacate the pitch at 10am prompt. At 09:50 the warden came and asked us to hurry up to leave as the next occupants were waiting - lo and behold 2 minutes later they pulled up and sat glaring at us, despite there being a rule of no arrivals before midday.
In all, a lovely location. Facilities poorly maintained, and the site management is aggressive.
The issues we had tarnished the experience of the site. We won't be returning.

This is a great site. We stayed in the orchard side with modern toilet facilities. There were plenty loos and showers which were always cleaned to a high standard, also we never had to queue even in mid August.
We encountered the tail enc of hurricane Bertha and whilst there were some canvas casualties we were rock steady.
The pool was always warm for an outdoor pool and the kids enjoyed the games room with a big TV and a pool table.
The launderette was only £1 for a wash which was great but it also meant that sometimes you had to queue for one of the 2 washers.
We're already planning a return trip.

We have just returned from a fantastic 8 nights stay at Ninham and are now planning our next stay with them for next year.
Upon arrival we were greeted at the reception by Jane (I am 99% sure this is correct, apologies if not) Jane was very friendly and explained everything we needed to know for our stay. The warm welcome we received from Jane set the tone for the rest of our stay.
As a family without a dog our pitch was in Orchard, the pitch was just fantastic, at 10m x 10m we had plenty of space to setup and did not feel cramped at all. The pitches are also all positioned around the edges of the fields meaning you have a nice view from the front of your pitch and not easily overlooking other campers. There was also plenty of space for the kids to play, explore and make friends.
The pool was nice and clean and was a good size for the size of the site, the games room was also good and the kids enjoyed playing pool and air hockey with the friends that they made.
The facilities were just fantastic, we were based a short walk from the new block in Orchard, they were always very clean and tidy, there were ample toilets, showers and basins which never resulted in having to wait around no matter what time of day or night. There is also a larger shower cubical on the end that contains 3 showers at varying levels, this allowed me to shower myself and 2 sons (3+7) with ease without having to juggle between cubicles with full height shower heads. The water was also always warm and comfortable in the showers.
Outside of the toilets etc are rows of sinks under shelter for washing up which was great and again we never had to queue to use these.
As before we will be booking again for next year and I would thoroughly recommend this site to anyone, most people we spoke to had also stayed at least once before and were planning on coming back once again. I cannot think of a negative thing to say about the site or out stay there!

Just had a wonderful 10 days here, facilities exceptional and laundry is the cheapest we have found. Lovely countryside and wildlife, we didn't want to leave, in fact we have already booked to return in August. There was only one very small problem and that was the hedges, which in all fairness they had started to cut back on our departure. Top marks for this site.

Just came home from a damp week at Ninham but made very enjoyable by this wonderful site.
We had an XL tent pitch with EHU (arranged at last minute thank you!)
The pitches are flat and well tended with walkways mown to the toilet block. We stayed in Orchard and the new toilet block is fab. The family shower room in the ladies is a real benefit, especially after a long days muddy cycling. (Although my husband did wonder if the toilet block could cater for every pitch come high season???)
We ate at the Fighting Cocks just up the road which was great and had a drink at the Merrie Garden which is walking distance.
The campsite is ideally placed to get into Shanklin by bike/on foot and onto the disused railway/bridleway which took us all the way to Newport.
The kids enjoyed the climbing frame and cycling around this safe site.

What a hidden jem! We have stayed elsewhere on the island, and discovered this site when passing.
It is situated well away from the main road and so quiet and really pretty.
The shower facilities are some the best we have used. The pitches are mostly nice & level and very spaciously arranged. The pool wasn't open yet, but we just really enjoyed our time exploring with our bikes and chilling with a glass of wine at the end of the day ! Recommended by us

We stayed here last August for 10 days which included the Bank Holiday weekend. It's a lovely site, really well placed and although large it's not noisy. There was a park for the kids which is nicely tucked away in a corner of the site and a lovely swimming pool which was safely fenced off. We never found the pool to be crowded as most people disappeared off site for the day. There was also a small games room.
The best thing about this site is the pitches - I found them to be large and really, really well spaced
The shower block on The Orchard side is fabulous and easily coped with the amount of traffic in August though I did find the showers to be a little disappointing with regards to water pressure and the toilet cubicles were lacking a hook.
The only other negative on the site was the ice block freezing 'service' provided by reception. It just didn't work for me in the extremely warm weather we had as I found it quite inaccessible (we were out all day and reception closed before we returned and is quite a trek from some areas) and also expensive when staying for a stretch. What's wrong with a free accessible freezer as some other sites use?
I would definitely return to this site if visiting the island - I have an electric cool box now!
