Just returned from 12 nights at Ninham. The actual site is lovely. Our pitch was plenty big enough to accommodate our Montana 6 plus extension and car. Quiet site considering the size of it. We were lucky enough to be Orchard field which was within easy reach of the swimming pool, games room, showers and laundry room, however if you were in Willow Brook you were a long walk from the pool and laundry. Saying that the playground is virtually non-existent in this field - only a slide! The pitches all well spaced out and the manager patrols some nights to keep noise down.
There is no shop on site but Morrisons is 15 minutes walk away but it was permanently packed whilst we were there! All attractions are within easy driving distance.
Now for the downside! In addition to the issue of the playground, the site will not freeze your own ice blocks. You have to hire theirs at £1.20 a time! I wanted to freeze some ice cube bags but they wouldn't but I was told I could buy a bag of their ice cubes at £1.50 which wouldn't have lasted half an hour in the heat we had so it would have been like buying a bag of water! The showers and wash area really does need updating. Whilst the soap was always full and always plenty of paper towels, the place was full of all types of insects and tiny creatures. The floors were dirty and there were only three showers but only one of the showers could accommodate myself and my two children so we often had to wait for long periods.
All in all had a great time (mainly due to the great weather) but would only return to this site if they updated the facilities.

One of the best locations visited, and I’ve camped all over Europe and New Zealand. Ideal for people who appreciate spaciousness, 'like-minded' consideration for their neighbours and still acknowledge the true outdoor ethos of camping and caravanning.
The large percentage of clients I talk to who are regulars or referrals bear witness to the popularity of this site.
The biggest bonus is being adjacent to Shanklin, in my opinion the best seaside resort on the Island, which enjoys its own unique almost 'Mediterannean' micro-climate.
I have visited Ninham twice every summer for the past 10 years and I have seen the Park during Low season and High season. Sure, the site is busy for two weeks of the year in Cowes Week, so expect to queue for a shower at 9am in early August. They’re usually vacant upto 8am and after 10am! Amenities are utilitarian admittedly but they are functional and cleaned / checked three times daily. Be fair, how people use these facilities between times is outside the control of the owners.
The swimming Pool area is obviously the centre-piece of the Park plus there is an indoor Pool complex nearby in Sandown (2km). Our children particularly enjoy the water sport facilities at ‘Wight Water’ based at the local beach (1km). This is also one of the few Parks we can take bikes to and safely gain access to numerous cycle routes without touching any main roads. There is a Morrison's and Lidl within 1km.
Any negatives? Only the fact the site is so spacious you have to walk a bit further, but hey, you’re on holiday so enjoy the ambiance this venue offers.

We have just returned from a week at this site. It was our first visit to the IOW so we didn’t know what to expect.
The positives for the site: The pitches are OK size, lots of space, the pool was nice. Toilets were clean and the shower was hot which is always nice. Quiet at 9pm sharp which was nice for us with young children.
This site is next door to IOW airport. Editors note : This is a tiny airport for light pleasure aircraft only.
When we arrived we had to wait in a field for 15 minutes until they are ready to have us on site.
There are small carp in the ponds and you are charged £5 a day a rod and you have to finish at 8pm. You have to carry a large yellow flag at all times while fishing. However, 5 minutes round the corner there’s a place which was £3 a day and had carp to 25lb.
Owner's comments: We have 6-10 lb. Carp which put up a far greater fight than 25lb. species. The going rate for day tickets elsewhere are now £8.00 +. The yellow flag is purely a peg which is put in the bank while he’s fishing. Lastly, for safety reasons we don’t allow night fishing so all pegs (flags) are returned at 8pm. Coarse fishing is available 8am to 8pm so for a 12 hour pastime 60p/hour is not unreasonable. Also we don’t charge for their children.
Generally the site is nice, I’m not sure the way in which the site is run is for us.
Both beaches nearby are great, clean and easy to get to. Godsall is great place, visit the model village. Don’t bother with Needles on the other side of the island. It’s a fairground and £4 for parking.

We stayed on this site for 15 nights at the start of August. Our pitch was on the Orchard side of the site, and was large enough to easily accommodate our Wolf Lake 7, car, plus wind shield at the side of the tent. We were told that we had to pitch our tent at the right hand side of the pitch, with our car at the side. Unfortunately, this meant that cars going through the gap in the fence to the upper field went right past the front guy ropes.
We found the only toilet / shower block basic (and around a 5 minute brisk walk from our pitch). There were lots of toilets, but only 3 showers. 2 of the showers were very small, I therefore spent around 15 - 20 minutes on several mornings waiting for the one larger shower cubicle - very difficult to keep a lively toddler occupied for that length of time in a queue. This was despite getting there early. The toilets were cleaned at 6am every morning, but I found that they were still closed at 7am.
The pool area was nice, but too cold for us. There is a nice duck pond between the two sides of the site. The play area was not suitable for small children, and seemed to be an area where teenagers congregated, causing quite a bit of noise at night.
I did go for a wander around the willows part of the site, which was much nicer, with lovely modern toilet facilities, lots more showers, and a really nice play area. Definitely worth requesting that side if you are thinking of going.

Just returned from a week at Ninham, and whilst we had a brilliant time, there are a couple of niggly things about the campsite that I feel I should mention.
First the positives though. The campsite is massive, and our pitch was plenty big enough for our sunncamp palace frame tent, small two man tent and car, and as we were in the orchard field there was no one opposite us so we had shedloads of room in front to play cricket, volleyball etc. Our pitch was also in an ideal place for access to things. The pool was right behind the tent, and this was very useful as it meant the kids could go swimming whenever they wanted and I only had to walk a few yards with them to sit and supervise, and could shout over the fence to my hubby to come and take over when id had enough. The kids loved the pool and we would have been lost without it, they went for a morning dip each day before we went off out, not convinced it was heated all the time though, and by the end of our week it was looking a very funny colour.
The games room was also near to us, meaning we felt safe letting our 7 year old go off and play without us, and she could also use the toilets/washrooms unaccompanied as these were close too. However, here is where my first niggle comes in . We have only stayed at a few campsites, I admit that the toilets themselves were clean but the building that housed them was full of spiders, cobwebs, stagnant moths and everything, my older daughter had a panic attack everytime she needed to use them. The showers weren't a lot better, and I was surprised and a little disappointed to find that there were only 3 showers for the entire 3 fields being used on our side of the site. They got very dirty very quickly and didn't encourage you to shower very often! This site cost us over £35 a night and I think a little investment in some new facilities would be worthwhile.
As mentioned, the site is split into two sides, and it is along way from one side to the other, we were lucky being on the side with the games rooms, pool etc, cos had we been on the other side we would not have allowed our kids to wander over there unaccompanied. Its also very hilly around the site, and we took our daughters bike but she didn't use it cos of the hills everywhere.
There is a chip van that visits on a monday, they are ok, but the bloke could do with a few lessons in customer relations !
Overall though, the site was ideal, never been on such a quiet site, and we would definitely return.

Just had a week here. We were on Willow - the quietest site.
Pitch was fine width ways, for tent and car but you have someone pitched directly behind you, behind a small screen of bushes and someone in front of you. So little privacy, a shame they are crammed the fields so tight together. The site wasn't full, so there was no reason why pitches couldn't have been spread out more freely. Very noisy on a night, but this is because you are too close together, you hear every noise.
Plenty of water points and basic washing up facilities.
Play area is very good and the kids enjoyed that (2 areas).
Toilets/showers were in an old breeze block. Not very nice looking, bBut the toilets always had paper and were cleaned well considering all the use. Plenty of paper towels. The showers were basic, with the least powerful shower head you could imagine. You have to keep pressing it, every few seconds. The shower fell off at one point and ants came teaming out! Terrified the kids! (ladies block). Water was too hot for kids too.
Swimming pool was the great thing about this site. Nice pool, cold but still lovely and a sun trap on the terrace.
10AM leaving time
The location was good for getting around the island

We recently returned home after 2 weeks on this site during the busy weeks of last week of July and first week of August (Cowes week).
We found the site well organised and well kept, much bigger site than we anticipated.
Pitch size was very generous though I note pitch sizes do vary considerably but there was still plenty of space between rows for it not to be a problem.
Toilet / shower block was OK (7/10) but as previously said by other reviewers, only 3 shower cubicles in the block for our field so almost always in use.
Outdoor pool is good but boy was it cold, it felt much colder than the sea!
Cowes week was a much busier than previous week and a little noisier in the evening but not rowdy.
The site location is good and it is possible to walk into Shanklin town centre via a bridleway and through Lannguard camping site which took us around 25 - 30 mins (would be longer with littluns)
This was our first visit to the island and we would definitely go again. Shanklin, Sandown and Yaverland are all close to Ninham and have great beaches. We also visited Compton bay (after a visit to the Dinosaur farm)which was good for body boarding when the tide was almost in but not so good at low tide due to rocks. Parking at Hanover point (NT) £2 for the day.
All in all a great holiday on a very good site

We are currently staying at this campsite at the moment and are finding it a very helpful and relaxing site. Our children aged 11,9,6 and 4 are loving the play area and the outdoor pool.
Our tent a Kampa Polzeath 8 is huge and as the pitches on this site are huge, there is plenty of room for both the tent, car and also to have our windbreaks out front, a must with a small family, who often want to use our luggable loo! This time however, we have no need to use the luggable loo as we are quite close to the toilet blocks which are kept lovely and clean, even if a little dated, there are plenty of toilets and showers readily available. The only criticism if any is that the hot water in the washing up area is not always available especially after 10am but other than that we have had a wonderful stay in a beautiful site. The Morrisons nearby has been frequented by my husband on a daily basis as has the camping shop almost opposite.
I, myself, have visited the laundrette on site several times and again, this is clean and there are two washing machines and two tumble dryers both industrial sized and perfectly adequate! My daughter and I have spent a couple of nights in there waiting for the 20 minute cycle on the washing machine and the 20 minute cycle on the tumble dryer!
All in all we are having a wonderful holiday on a beautiful campsite.

On approach the site has a nice drive with holiday cottages and farm land. On first impression the site looks nice, clean and tidy wth spacious pitches. The toilet facilities are simple push button showers, we were lucky as the field we were in was not full and shared two blocks for the whole field.
The field is mostly flat with ample room for the children to run around in but the play area is located on the other side of the site where they have to walk up the road to get to. It had an outdoor pool which we did not venture to use as it was too cold.
One day they were putting stone boulders down alongside the road but they placed them in the wrong place and they caused damaged to our car as it was only a single track road with little room for caravans to turn in.
The gentleman we spoke to claimed to be the owner and was very rude to us and didn't seem to care he had caused damage to the car trying to push the blame on us. We later noticed on returning to the site that they had been moved to a more appropriate place.

We recently spent 2 weeks at this site which is set in lovely countryside. The pitches are separated into 2 fields so that dogs are only in one field. This did however mean that the dog owners field was further away from the pool, games room, laundry and dog walk! There were no dog poo bins located on the site which made me wonder why I paid £49 for the dog.
Pitches were no more spacious than other sites we have stayed at and as we were there during peak school holidays it was very busy and 4 showers per field just wasn't enough. The toilet block was clean but old and could really do with updating. Showers were often not very powerful and we ended up using our own facilities.
The pool however was great, if a little cold, and the kids loved it. The fishing lakes were also a hit with the kids and well stocked. The site is a short walk from morrisons (10 mins)and lidl (20mins) and surrounded by bridleways. Long cables are needed for many pitches too as hook up is a distance away. There are play areas on both fields.
The late night arrivals field is ideal with hook up, water and lots of space for many outfits. Some pitches aren't level and there is some noise from light aircraft as the airport is close by.
