We spent four very pleasant days at the site. On arrival we were greeted with courtesy and helpfulness and friendly attitude.
We straight away felt relaxed and welcome in our motorhome and with two bearded collie dogs.
The pitch size was very adequate and flat with a walled screening area around the rear side from the excellent picturesque tenting area.
The site is beautifully located. Clean and very tidy, quiet and very dog and children friendly to.
We will definitely be returning again. We are confident in recommending Folly Farm and staff.
Thank you

We had a wonderful stay at Folly Farm this past Bank Holiday Weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Upon arrival we were given the chance to pitch where we liked, and the ground was level. The field was busy, but clean, tidy and mowed which was good. The bin areas allowed for recycling, and the washing facilities were adequate for the amount of campers. The dishwashing sinks were very low but this wasn't too much of an issue. The showers are £1 - my first was bitterly cold, but the rest were fine and were powerful enough. Staff at the campsite were very friendly, and their presence meant that the late night noise was very respectful - no loud chat after 10. 30/loud music etc. They provide blocks to put your bbq on, you can charge your electrical items in a campers cabin/shed and there is a fridge/freezer to store small named items in.
Maybe it would be better to add a few lights to the ladies toilets and also a light above the outdoor sinks. However, the night sky was remarkable as there were no lights at the site so this added to the experience. We shall certainly be returning, as the site is just what you need - fairly central, clean, presentable, well managed and friendly.

We stayed at Folly Farm for 1 night as a stop over on our journey south. We found the owners helpful, the site clean and tidy and the facilities perfectly adequate for our needs. The toilet / facilities block was cleaned regularly and although basic served the purpose well.
The small shop sells the basics whilst the information 'shed' contains fridges / freezers for general use and also various info & leaflets on the area.
The large camping field was great for the kids to play football whilst in easy view of the tent.
The dog walks around the area are also great, some beautiful countryside within a couple of minutes walk.
The Cotswold town of Bourton on the water is a couple of minutes drive away and well worth a visit as is the miniature, model version of the town
We would definitely go back and use the site as a base to further explore the Cotswolds.

We arrived to a pleasant welcome on this site. The pitches are marked out but thankfully there doesn't seem to be much in the way of dictatorial pitching styles such as you get on Caravan Club sites. We weren't close enough to the EHU point for our lead and they helpfully leant us an extension. The site seems safe and secure enough to leave equipment outside the tent and more importantly, for our kids to go exploring on foot or on their bikes. The EHU field is lovely and shady with nice bigs trees and on a weekend when temperatures were pushing 30 degrees, this was nice. There are a couple of non EHU fields too, and these were just as well kept, but the shade seemed to be more at a premium there. Bourton on the Water is only a couple of miles down the road. There is a hut with a communal freezer and tourist info etc should you need it. The sanitary facilities are basic, but this is the middle of the Cotswolds and I suppose not much else should be expected. The standards of cleanliness in the toilets and showers were acceptable. However, here is where the site let itself down for me. The disabled toilet had a tap with the top missing so users had to push the actual tap plunger down to get a very short burst of water. Ok for me, my disability is in my legs but if a user is weak in the arms, hands or fingers, it would be a problem. That aside, why should disabled users have to put up with broken facilities anyway? That was not all though, because there was no soap in the wall mounted dispenser either, and this was not just on one day, but on two consecutive days. Again, not really good enough. To add insult to injury, I went for a shower, which incidentally, costs £1 for 10 minutes and was treated to the most freezing cold shower I've ever had. My wife had a shower in a different cubicle and she said hers was fine so obviously it's a problem with that particular cubicle. Now, on all of these issues, I could have complained but I'm not prone to that and in any case, why should I, these are basic things that need to be right without having to make a fuss about them. Having said all of this, would I go back? Yes without a doubt.

My wife and I arrived at Folly Farm on 31st August, having found it on her Blackberry that morning. This was just the sort of small basic site we prefer, with no Caravan/Camping Club restrictions. Indeed, we liked it so much we stayed 3 nights, which is unusual for us as we like to move around.
The facilities were quite acceptable with endless hot water and to be honest we shared the shower! The field we were in had families and it was a pleasure to watch the children play, being grandparents ourselves.
The proprietors were most agreeable; helpful and sociable, even humorous! Bourton on the Water is a picturesque village/town, remeniscent of Thornton-le-Dale, North Yorkshire, with a wonderful motor museum that I would heartily recommend. We also had a day out in the Forest of Dean, inadvertently getting caught up in Westbury Carnival!
Beautiful area, excellent campsite and pleasant people. One of the better sites we have found in over 30 years camping. On the Monday morning there was much disturbance from farm traffic, just the other side of the high hedge, from as early as 0600. This is a small criticism and to be truthful, a totally quiet site is a rarity anywhere these days.

Just returned from this site. Have to say that it is a real little Gem. It is situated well away from roads in lovely countryside. There are 3 fields. We stayed in the campervan one as we wanted an electric hook up. It is in a lovely field surrounded by trees. Very quiet and relaxing stay.
The facilities are basic. Toilets and showers are clean but you have to pay £1 for a shower and it is not a very powerful one but the water is hot. There is a little hut with fridges in to store cold items and this also acts as a tourist info point with leaflets and news of events.
The lady who runs the site is very nice and helpful. The campervan filed is very suitable for adults who want a quiet relaxing stay. There were families there but there are no play facilities for kids. Overall lovely basic site which we would most definitely stay at again and recommend to anyone.

Arrived home last night after a wonderful very relaxing 2 days spent at Folly Farm. In fact my 2 children (4 & 6) are still there for the rest of the week and they absolutely love it.
This is the second time that my husband and myself have been to this campsite (the first being well over 10 years ago and was my very first camping experience!) and not much has changed which I am very grateful for.
The facilities are very basic consisting of several showers, toilet facilities and washing facilities. They are clean but they do not come with whistles and bells so do not expect luxury.
There is a basic shop but don't expect to do your weekly shopping here! There are 3 fields for tents, camper vans and motor homes. Sue and her husband who manage the site could not be more helpful.
The setting is second to none and it is so peaceful and relaxing - the perfect getaway from everyday life. There is no park or other activities but there is an abundance of space and fresh air which all children love.
My children enjoyed riding their bikes and going on little adventures, we relaxed because they were safe. There are plenty of walks in very close proximity and of course Bouton on the water is only a 5 minute drive away.
If you want peace and quiet while spending quality time as a family I would definitely recommend this site. I will be returning next year as it is a place that I would never tire of returning to.

Came to this beautiful part of the world as part of a 2 week break.
Found the site through UKCampsite.co.uk and we are actually sat in front of our tent as we write this review.
When we arrived the site was busy (was lateish on the Saturday afternoon)
After a brief introduction from the lady who runs the site, we pitched in a position of our choice.
Our first impression was that it is a busy site and at the time was quite noisy (lots of kids) however as we are staying for the full week the site has been lovely. Yes there are comings and goings, but overall it has been quiet and we have had a nice relaxing week to date.
The facilities are functional for a campsite in the middle of the countryside. Other reviewers have stated that they are basic and yes, to a degree they are, but they are clean, well maintained and are certainly not dirty. Washing facilities are indeed outdoors, but are covered and if the weather is that bad there are plenty of options with the shower rooms and toilet facilities to stay out of the elements.
Another reviewer has complained about the shower charge (£1). Yes it is a bit of a bind, but the showers work, are hot and spacious and are certainly of a higher standard than numerous other campsites.
The surrounding countryside and the villages are delightful, with walks originating from the site itself and historic towns within a relatively short drive. The site does sell limited supplies from the reception office (a Tesco is only 10mins drive away in Stow)
We have thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this site and have been made most welcome by Sue and Ken and will certainly be on our list for visit in the future

Just got back from a 2 night stay at Folly Farm and here's some tips;
1 After a sustained period of rain this site, like any other in this country, got water logged. Only overflow field being used fully at the time.
2 Strongly advise those who like to get a reasonable amount of sleep when camping, to check with this site if a hoard of D of E teenagers are booked in! This is a popular site for several schools who run this type of event.
We asked the nice lady who runs the site, if we could move on to the tent field. Luckily she said we could.
3 If planning to do walks while you camp at Folly Farm, head south rather than north if you have young children. Crossing the A436 is not fun!
4 Toilet block is a breeze block structure. Clean and functional and well maintained. Showers are hot but cost a pound. Wash quickly to avoid spending more.
5 Nice to see this site actually has recycling bins.
6 Overflow field is a bit exposed.
My 6 year old and I would return after considering points 1 and 2.

Visited the campsite and was very impressed. Surrounding countryside was beautiful but isolated.
Lady who runs the campsite was very nice and helpful. Small shop for the most basic needs
Toilet and shower facilities were clean but very basic. Good dish washing facilities with nice hot water
Good open grass area for the children to play in.
Weather was very windy and 1 of the camping fields was very exposed. Good site drainage even with the vast amounts of rain during our stay.
