I have nothing bad to say about this campsite. We (four adults and a dog) spent 3 great days here over the 2nd bank holiday weekend. It was my partner's first camping trip ever and because of the excellent facilities and location, she loved camping and we're going again soon! Toilets, washing up area and showers really clean with a never ending supply of toilet roll provided. Showers hot and lovely but you will need to take 50ps with you. One tip though. Turn on the shower before putting a 50p in, there may be left over time from the previous person, I had a whole free shower that way. There is even a plug by a mirror outside the showers for shavers and hairdryers etc. There is hot and cold water in the washing up sinks and we never had to queue. We had two tents, a gazebo and two cars and there was plenty of room. The grass on the site was lovely, green and clean, in fact the whole site was clean and tidy and big bins are provided for bagged waste, which leaves your tent / caravan area clean and tidy too. There are walks on the doorstep and we also drove to Sudeley Castle and Cheltenham from the site and walked to Bourton, all with no problems. Charlie the manager is lovely and helpful and seemed to be on hand if needed most of the time. We had a bar-b-q and a fire all with no problems. All in all, we had a fabulous weekend and this was, in part, due to this excellent camp site.

Overall very nice with 2 fields for tents - one in the open and the other very protected from wind by the trees (which we were in. There is a separate field for caravans etc. So choose as per your own preferences.
The site is small and has a nice feel to it - we found it lovely and peaceful.
Pitches are not marked so its first come, first served etc but all seemed ok when we were there (and it was a bank holiday). Charlie was there a lot of the time and is happy to help re any issues.
The showers are basic (and need 50p for the meter so don't forget) but they were clean and hot - what more do you need ?. Toilets and washing up facilities also provided.
The site is next to a farm (but it is a separate business and a real working farm so not to be assumed as open for visitors).
Nearby (2.5 miles) is Bourton on the water which is one of those beautiful villages that is just nice to be in and there are some nice restaurants and shops to keep everyone happy. Plenty of other pretty villages to see as well.
There is a 0.5 mile walk over fields to get to cold aston where there is a pub (and good food if you reserve a table). It's small and well liked. So very nice for a stroll and a pint !
Campsite price was £37.50 for 3 nights which is very reasonable.
There is a bit of road noise as you are 100/150 yards from a436 but its not too busy and it really didn't annoy us at all.
So for us it was a good site and we will definitely use it again,. Obviously it did help that we had 3 days of glorious sunshine, and the positive effect of bringing home a dry tent cannot be overstated !

A lovely quiet campsite but not anything to do with the farm itself. The warden was great. The site was £11 per night per pitch. There is no light pollution at night whatsoever on this site, so great for star gazing on a clear night.
There is not anything to do on site other than walks and relaxing, perfect for that 'getting away from it all' feeling. There is plenty of room for the kids to play on the touring field though.
The site is very relaxed and the warden was friendly, and no strict check out time, which is a bonus when trying to disassemble a tent in the rain! The field we stayed in was level. The toilets are very basic but clean (2 cubicles in each)
The 2 shower cubicles looked basic, but looked like they did the job (£1 for about 5mins).
Had several outside sinks for washing up.
There were only 4 other tenters on our field, but it was mid-week and think it would be a pretty popular site during high season.
TIP No. 1 =
Females may need a torch as the entry to the loos are well lit, but quite dark when you shut the cubicle doors.
TIP No.2 =
The site is located next to a busy working farm but it not open to the public. The Farm is nothing to do with the campsite. The owner of the adjacent farm took a pretty dim view of us stroking his baby shire horses and took a pretty dim view of this and told us so in no uncertain terms. This did not put a damper on our holiday, as we could see his predicament if campers are trying to interfere with his farm animals all the time.
Bourton on the Water is a 2 mile drive from the site and is beautiful. For kids there is Birdland and the Maze and a playbarn. The town has some lovely pubs, restaurants and really oldy worldy shops. There is a laundrette if anyone needs to dry out their kit due to bad weather.
All in all, a great campsite and we cannot wait to return!

A lovely little site - very pretty and relaxed with a very friendly warden.
The facilities are very basic though which was OK for a couple of nights but I wouldn't want to stay for a long time. Everything was clean but we're talking concrete floor, painted breeze blocks and corrugated plastic roofing.
50p for the shower was a bit much as well given the less than salubrious surroundings. One 50p gives you just enough time for a quick wash - you would definitely need 2 or more 50ps if you wanted to wash your hair.
There are no shops within walking distance so make sure you're well stocked up.
There is a pub 20 minutes walk across the fields which is tiny but very friendly and does very nice food indeed and good beer. We didn't do the walk in the dark but I suspect it would be fine as long as you have a decent torch.

Charlie very welcoming, helpful and friendly. His dog is lovely. Reasonably priced site with good sized pitches and relaxed atmosphere. Children were made welcome and there's plenty of room in the camping field for ball games.
This site is well back off the main road so noise is minimal. As in previous reviews the toilet facilities aren't the most modern but are clean and functional with plenty of toilet paper and soap provided. Lots of hot water for dishwashing but the sinks are a little on the low side for me but that was actually a bonus as I told the kids they had to do the washing up!
Bourton on the Water is a really quaint village. It's not really walkable from site but there's plenty of parking around town. The maze is entertaining for about 20 minutes, the kids enjoyed hunting for clues to solve the puzzle inside. Didn't really think a lot to the other local towns, Cheltenham was big, we didn't stop, Evesham's a bit run down. Moreton in Marsh has a good market on a Tuesday.
Probably wouldn't go back but not because of the site, more the area.

Similar views to many already expressed. The Site Manager Charlie is helpful & relaxed. The 2 camping fields are level & sheltered. The toilet block is small and very basic, WCs are clean but the floors are grubby. Only cold water in the toilet block to wash your hands but there was a soap dispenser and hand drier. We did not think much of the showers. A 50p did not give enough time for anything but the quickest of showers. No warning by starting to run cold they just switch off. So at least 2 coins are needed. The only sinks with warm water are outside dishwashing sinks so privacy for having a wash or shave is minimal. Due to the limited facilities, I would not like to use the site when it is busy.

We've been here twice now, and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. We were lucky enough on one visit to be at the right time for the Cold Aston village fete - village life at its best! and we were able to get some lovely local cheese! the site is basic, but really laid back, we were just told to find a pitch, and the money was collected later, and no fussy 'check out' times. The kids really enjoyed exploring, which gave us plenty of time to relax with a glass of wine - but there isn't a shop, so make sure you don't run out. Bourton is nearby, and the river is great for paddling. The toilets are basic, but cleaned daily, and the showers are hot and last plenty long enough. All in all, a really great site, and we will be returning again this year.

On website it states 17 pitches - there were far more than 17 over the weekend.(We expected it to be busy but due to no pitches marked out or numbered people were just placed so closely together.)
We were told we could park our cars on an area at the back of the field they called wasteland opposite the cornfield - then before we knew it they were allowing people to pitch on the wasteland!
Toilets ok, showers nice and hot but would have been good to have a mop and bucket for people to clean up after themselves.
We had to boil our kettles and take them to the washing up area as the water was stone cold.
Them (£4.00 exta per night) electric hook-up - we were just given an extension reel and said (much to our suprise) 'oh it will be ok just put a plastic bag over it' !
We were informed that the sewage blocked just before the bank holiday, so they had to dig up part of the field to correct the issue. We were then told our pitch was right next to the area where they had dug up!
To sum Folly Farm up it was in a lovely rural location plenty of walks, the children enjoyed the stay, every day around 5pm an ice cream van would visit the site.
We made the most of our weekend but felt that it was expensive compared to other sites that we have visited

Folly Farm was mine and my children's first camping experience and it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and laid back, and you had the feeling they would go out of their way to help you if necessary.
We pitched next to the wheat field which was brilliant for kite flying.
I liked the fact that the showers could be hand held which makes showering small children much easier. There was also plenty of space, a chair, and a basket for clothes on the door. It was quite busy when we visited but we avoided queues by showering in the afternoon. All facilities were clean and well maintained.
Bourton is a lovely place to visit. If taking children, take a towel and possibly a change of clothes, as a paddle in the river is irresistible. My five year old was enchanted by the model railway and we know birdland is pretty cool from a previous visit.
So I want to thank Folly Farm for instilling a passion for camping in an oldish dog. We already have plans to return with friends.

As said before this site has basic facilities but cleaned regularly through out the day. The weekend we stayed the site was full and the bins were very full. However the children had a lovely large central area of field to play in.
This site was really friendly and the staff extremely helpful.
