We used the site for one night stopover and it served well. The site was just 'as it says on the tin'. Good level pitch, plenty of space between pitches.
Facilities adequate with loads of hot water. Super star gazing helped by absence of site lighting. The pub in Cold Aston was a pleasant 20min walk away.
The site was well off the main road so no traffic disturbance. Reception was a caravan with local tourist info but no supplies available - although they did give us a small quantity of milk for brew when we arrived.

One of the best campsites we have stayed on, we met lots of different people, the manager Charlie is so friendly and very helpful.
The amenities are basic but we managed perfectly well for ten nights. The campsite also allows dogs our 10 month old border collie called Moss loved it.
The campsite is also very peaceful, making it an ideal place to relax. The campsite is also very central making it the perfect place to tour the Cotswold's. Make sure you take a torch because there is no external lighting at night. We will certainly visit again.

Charlie (the manager) is very friendly and helpful. The site itself is very quiet although it has very basic facilities. There appear to be only two showers for the site and the ladies' and gents' washing areas are open to the elements. The approach road has some fairly significant potholes in it so needs to be taken very carefully and slowly.
That said, it is quiet and friendly and I'd have no hesitation in going back again.

We thought this was a pretty and quiet site. We went with our two small children, friends and their children and there was a nice sized space for the kids to run about safely.
It did appear that the pitches were given on a first come first served basis. I thought that they were trying to pack as many caravans and tents as possible onto the site as every space, even space at the back of the van was taken!
The site charged me £19 per night although I was told £18.00 and my friends van was charged at £20 even though they had the same as us. I thought this was slightly over priced as it has only basic facilities and over a bank holiday weekend there was lots of queues for the showers. The showers I thought were really expensive at £1.00 for 5 minutes and they were very basic and not heated.
There is a nice country walk running along the side and behind the camp but we were unaware we were on a farmers land and told to leave immediately.
Despite some of the above we had a lovely weekend in a nice relaxing area.

We used this site on the wet Mayday Bank Holiday - a group of 5 adults and 5 children in 2 tents. It is a great site, small and friendly with basic facilities and a very friendly owner.
Toilets and showers (50p a time) were fine - the hot water never ran out. Set in attractive countryside with a good pub within 25 mins walk (book if you want to eat as it is very small). The tent pitches are not marked out which I prefer and EHU is available.
Plenty of space for small kids to run around - it seems popular with young families and family groups. Shops a couple of miles away. I would happily return.

I stopped off at Folly Farm overnight whilst touring the Cotswolds on foot last August. What a good decision that was! I arrived at the site with basically no food with some crazy notion in my head that they had a shop. I was disappointed but not surprised to find they didn't and thought I was going to have to walk all the way into Bourton-on-the-Water to go shopping. But not only did the owners of the site start off by offering me a couple of eggs to keep me from death's door (a little over dramatic, though I am a growing lad!) but they gave me a lift to the shop in their truck so I could top up on everything I needed. Admittedly it wasn't peak season, but I was very grateful as it saved me a very long walk after a hard day's hiking. Thank you Folly Farm!
When I wasn't getting a free lift to the shops and back, the owners were also very relaxed and let me set up my tent and sort my gear out before paying. The facilities are basic but they work and the showers are hot which is pretty much all I wanted! All-in-all I would thoroughly recommend the site to other hikers, campers and people touring the area.

Arrived on the Bank Holiday to find the site pretty full. We were told to pitch where we liked. We had booked EHU but couldn't find a pitch close enough for the hook up - we decided this was not the end of the world. Finally found a spot by the rally field entrance overlooking the bean field. Some folk with tents, cars, trailers and quad bikes took up way more than their fair pitching space and had to be spoken to by Charlie after showing a bit of attitude re wanting us to move our tent so he could move his trailer,(totally unnecessary, there was plenty of room) but they were gone after the Bank Holiday.
The site is peaceful with some lovely views. Not much road noise, no light pollution so you get fab night skies and glorious sunsets. Quiet policy after 10.30 was well observed. Big bins for rubbish and the whole site was clean and tidy.
The facilities are basic but adequate, ladies - take a torch to the loo at night. Charlie seemed to be always available if needed, very reasonable tariff for the area. Very enjoyable stay, lots to see and do and will definitely return to Folly Farm.

Site accessible with ease, dog friendly quiet mid week fills up quickly at weekends. Need to stock-up on supplies before arrival as nearest shop is approx 3 miles away. Walking distance to pub although very expensive for food. Although toilet facilities are very basic they were clean & being redecorated. Showers 50p unisex. Plentiful hot water at wash-ups. Caravans & tents use different fields. At weekends hook-ups are limited. Site manager is knowledgeable, very helpful & a workaholic who is liked by all. Visited twice now & will return.

The site has a lot of good points: lovely location, nice flat ground for tents, very peaceful and rural (although there was some noise from a nearby road). There is no onsite lighting and you are woken up each morning by the farm cockerel.
I would happily return to the site if the toilets had been a bit nicer. Unfortunately I am a total wimp and am afraid of spiders, and the toilets, although clean, were infested with spiders and cobwebs. There is no lighting in the ladies' cubicles at night (just the torch you bring with you), so if you are after something a bit more luxurious then this is not the site for you.
The surrounding area is lovely. We went to Bourton-on-the-Water, which was a picture-perfect chocolate box village, and to the Cotswold Farm Park, which was wonderful and great for younger children.
This site would be perfect for hardy campers who are looking for basic facilities and a beautiful, peaceful location.

What a great site and a fantastic site warden.
We (Mum, Dad and 2 kids) spent four days at the back end of the late May bank holiday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The weather certainly helped however, so did the site.
We were in a Tent and given a pitch near toilet block and on a field with other families. Charlie, the site warden, appeared to do this deliberately as couples were on another part of the site and this created a great environment for the kids who all got together and played lots of games and spent lots of time exploring together.
As has been said elsewhere, the toilets and showers are basic but clean and the dishwashing facilities more than adequate.
Charlie the site warden is one of the nicest people you could meet and was incredibly helpful with any question we had.
The area is wonderful and we spent a great day in Bourton-on-the-Water. Having walked there (about 3.5 miles) we enjoyed a couple of cheeky beers and a nice lunch to explore. The kids were hot and tired so we caught the bus back (the 801 from outside the newsagents - timetable available from the tourist information office) who on request stopped at the top of the site entrance to drop us off.
The only down side for me was that our pitch was too close to the toilets for my personal tastes and throughout the night, we were slightly disturbed as people entered and exited the toilets.
All in all a great site and one to which we will definitely return for a longer stay.
