My wife, 9 year old grandaughter and myself have just returned from a three night break at Lomond Woods.
We booked a fully serviced pitch with the usual Fresh water, Waste water, Mains and TV hookup. Hardstanding with space for awning and car.
Reception staff are excellent and can't do enough for you and have a good knowledge of the area and whats on.
One large facilities block in centre of the site with good hot showers. The facilities are generally clean, although on our visit some 'patrons' leave a lot to be desired by being too lazy to flush the toilet, rinse the sink or mop the shower floor after use etc ( no fault of the site obviously). There are also family washing rooms with bath, shower and loo which cost 30pence for 3 minutes?
Games room with pool table and air hockey table inside and a ping pong table outside but not much else apart from a couple of those grab a toy type machine.
There is also a play park for younger children at the side of the facilities block.
They have an automated machine for cleaning your cassette toilet waste tank and when complete it then fills with correct dose of Eco waste tank fluid. I didn't use it myself but might be an idea for some folks. Cost £2.
There is the standard free CDP at the side of the facility block.
Balloch within walking distance as is Lomond Shores shopping area. Several places for eating / drinking as other reviewers have mentioned.

A wonderful response from the receptionist when I called to enquire. I had already spoken with 2 other sites nearby who had been far from helpful and quite abrupt.
We found the site easily and the receptionist immediately remembered our conversation and explained the pitch she had allocated us. The pitch easily accommodated our Motorhome and large awning. The weather was atrocious when we arrived so pitching was not pleasant. Can't blame them for that though.
Signposts to the amenities would be helpful and the access to the disabled facilities is not great.
The disabled facilities are really not good for disabled people. I could barely fit my daughters wheelchair and myself into the space. We did manage an improvised shower using our double camping wear as a shower bench. But it was hard work and very cramped.
Camping sites need to consider a Changing places facility.
On the whole though this was a nice site and we would come again

Stayed here in my own tourer 19th to 26th. Nice big pitch was allocated which was good as my motor mover is a bit duff. Not good on a twin axle. Well I got to say reception was painless and quick and that was the only time I went in there apart from handing barrier keys back. Balloch is nice and a walk through the castle grounds is good. There is a big company op and other smaller shops. Calor can be got from there. Plenty of places to eat. In laws came with us but due to their age they stayed at hotel over the road. All in all a great staging post for the trossachs.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this site. On arrival large parking area by reception which was great so no blocking anyone, booking in was very easy with the reception staff who were very informative about the site and local area including train and bus times, where to eat, supermarket and so on.
Pitches were of a good size, most were hardstanding, with some fully serviced.
Toilet block was slightly dated however were warm with a good supply of hot water, only downside, as mentioned in previous reviews, was the short duration of the shower before turning off.
For those like us who prefer to use public transport this site is ideally located for trains to Glasgow(50mins)with several buses to other location around the Loch Lomond area.
Recently added drive through motorhome service point like the European style was a nice bonus.
TV signal can be a bit hit and miss as in a bit of a dip but no problem with satellite signal.
Would we go back again?? Oh yes

Friendly welcome, one way travel round site with security barriers on both entrance and exit.
Toilets/showers clean, they were even having an automatic caravan cassette toilet cleaner installed when I was there.
Nice gardens. Chose this site as it was before most were open, but glad we did.
There is a pub/carvery across the road, and across the road from that is the Lomond Shores retail complex and sealife centre and of course Loch Lomond itself.
A weekend is not enough time for visiting this area.

Spent the weekend at this very comfortable site, gravel pitches nicely laid out site. Bathroom shower & toilet block warm & clean good hot water, Washing up area clean small with plenty hot water. Very efficient night warden who sorted out an electrical hook up problem.
The site is nicely situated in Ballock with Loch Lomond nearby with cycle & walking routes. A over view map of the area with route displayed would be an advantage at the campsite.

What delightful discovery.
We only booked the site as a single night stop over en route to the highlands. Normally I will research and read reviews before booking somewhere, but the website seemed ok so I didn't bother.
Well we arrived and what a lovely surprise. The site was fantastic, lovely spacious pitches, with a picnic table at the side of each. The facilities are clean and modern, lovely warm showers.
The site had a nice continental feel, very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff and fellow campers.
Less than a 10 minute walk to the shore of Loch Lomond, I was expecting spectacular views and maybe a small cafe, I was surprised to find the numb of attractions on offer. Bike hire, boat hire, and the like. A small mall, sea life centre, mini golf.
We were sad to have only booked a single night, and will definitI y be returning for a longer stay in the future.

Stayed at this site in August 2015. Lovely site, well landscaped, you don't feel like you are all in a row! Staff very knowledgeable and helpful and when I initially booked they gave me a lovely pitch. Showers and toilets clean and tidy. Loch Lomond is just 10 mins walk with a multitude of pubs and restaurants. There you will find Sweeney's cruises on the Loch and also the train station which takes you into Glasgow for approx. £10 each open day return. Lots to do in the area and very picturesque. Lomond Woods site is excellently placed. Would visit again.

Well kept site with mix of touring pitches and permanent caravans and chalets. Toilets were always tidy and clean. Only 4 showers, but this wasn't a problem when we were there. Short walk into Balloch, an interesting town with pubs and cafés. Opposite site entrance is the Queen of the Loch a Marstons pub and carvery which looks good. 10 min walk to Lomond Shores leisure complex on the bank of the loch. Quite tasteful development with shops and restaurants. From the bridge at Balloch there is a pleasant walk by the side of the loch to Balloch Castle, a fortified house and grounds. There is a café by the loch and a play park for children. This is a good site that we would use again.
