Did 2 night stay in motorhome.

Site very good with good hook up and services.

Had meal in Tullie Inn short walk into Balloch. Good meal do not go for the Loch Lomond brewery beer. Advise book in advance to avoid disappointment (busy)but not on the Saturday we visited. Other places to eat nearby including Indian takeaway/restaurant. Walking around the loch good for families and a ride on the loch. Advise book up well in advance.

Very well situated at the Southern tip of Loch Lomond, this is a large park with a lot of permanent/seasonal units. Touring vans seem to make up a small proportion of visitors. Beware the ramp where the entrance barrier comes across as it is vicious (mainly because it needs repair).

We used a full service pitch (ie water and drainage as well as electric hook-up and TV point). The down side of these pitches is that they are close to the surprisingly busy main road with a lot of motorbike noise at times. The other issue is that the gravel hard standing has deep ruts which mean the van needed levelling side to side and the pitch never drained of standing water - even though we had very little rain. The problem only seems to affect these pitches.

Site facilities are fairly standard though with only five showers in the gents I did wonder how things would be at the height of the season (and as someone else has noted the long thin layout means pushing past people who are washing etc. ). Although a large site the only rubbish bins are by the entrance so this can mean quite a trek if you forget to offload stuff on the way out. Given that this is the most expensive site we've ever stayed on, it should really be a lot better than it is.

One last issue. You pay a £5 deposit for the keys for the toilets - also needed for the chemical disposal point. If you plan an early start when you're leaving, bear in mind that Reception doesn't open until 9. 00 am so either forfeit your deposit or wait until they open. They suggest you get your deposit back the previous evening but then you wouldn't be able to empty your toilet before departure!

Stayed at this site for one night.

Bit overpriced for the facilities.

Toilet block was clean but old fashioned.

Showers were absolutely freezing so I gave up in the end.

Scenery around the area is nice and I would return to the area in the summer but not to this site. Staff were friendly enough. Pitch was of gravel and quite uneven ground.

Not a great deal on the site, small games room with not much in it.

There was a laundry room but it was closed so I couldn't use it

Disappointing site, and rather overpriced we felt for the condition.

We were jammed in a corner, surrounded by empty touring vans that seemed to be on seasonal pitches.

The hard standing wasn't level, and there was a fair bit of residual litter lying around.

The toilets and showers were old, and needed a key to gain access. These are narrow and when brushing your teeth you had to keep moving to let other residents pass by.

The showers were on the push button type activation that would always turn off when you needed to wash the soap off. A wee bit annoying.

There was some building work going on while we were there, generating a good deal of noise from the various tools and tractors being used.

Could be so much better.

Also, has the dubious honour of being the most expensive site we have stayed at during our 2013 trips.

The site is ok nothing amazing. Toilet and shower block clean. Staff could have been friendlier as we were given a pitch too small for our large Motorhome even though we had given them our length prior to our arrival. Very stony pitches so trying to level up on a pitch too small was a nightmare and completely wrecked our chocks! Staff were not interested at all!

Pitches are quite close together and if you put an awning out it would be on top of your neighbours.

Not a site we will be rushing back to.

Just had 2 great nights at this site on our way down to Leeds, , what a wonderful site, well situated and ideal for a base to tour the area.

Staff are very friendly and the toilets and showers are excellent.

Will use this site again when passing. And at only £20.50 for 2 adults and a dog, it's one of the cheaper we have stayed at in the 3 weeks of our touring Scotland.

There are some great places to eat within a couple of miles of this site, and the site is really dog friendly as you can walk them anywhere, so long as you clean up after them.

This was my first time caravanning, lomond woods was perfect! Lovely clean site, toilet block and showers, perfect, staff, very helpful. I read one review about this park, the writer complained about having to press a button to get the shower to work and that the water could do with being warmer. Wow! They have a sad life. Is that all they could come up with? The park is fantastic. My car broke down when we were there and the staff couldn't be more helpful, they moved my caravan for me to allow the next van to get on the pitch, no problem to them what so ever, reception staff very courteous and helpful. Can't complain one bit. I'll be back. Get yourself to lomond woods great place and location. Thanks.

We stayed for 2 nights. Lots of space between motorhomes and caravans. Site was really clean. Within walking distance to shops with nearby access to buses, including buses to Oban and Glasgow

Good range of tourist information available in town

Great area for walking and sight seeing. Near to West Highland Way

Site had good toilet and washroom block, which was clean and heated. There was a play area for children

We had used their sister site in Aberdeen and were so impressed that we booked on to this one. Whilst, in my opinion it is not as good as Deeside, Aberdeen it is still a pleasant site. Our pitch was of good size with a lovely little stream behind it and the site is well laid out and clean.

The toilet block is a little small for a site of this size, but adequate for the number of people on site when we were there. The water in the showers could certainly be warmer, but the sink water was always hot and the facilities clean. We ate at the Cantonese just out of the gates and the food was of excellent quality and good value for money, some people have said it is expensive but at £40. 00 for a starter, 2 mains and rice, a pudding and 2 drinks each it seemed very good value to me.

The Kilted Skirlie at the shopping centre was also of very good value and the food pleasant. The only complaint we had was that on going to use the dryer in the laundry it was token only, and open until 9. 00pm but tokens had to be bought from th reception, which closed at 6. 00pm.

 Stayed here 11- 18 August 2012

Site has easy access, with plenty of space as you arrive for reception, the staff where extremely pleasant and helpful, explaining the layout of the park and facilities. The pitches where well spaced and plenty of room, all hard standing (chippings ). You will need hard rock awning pegs.

Plenty of turnover of motorhomes as a stopover.

Mixed site of Static Homes, seasonal pitched tourers as well as tourers and motorhomes.

Site is well kept and is being constantly maintained by pleasant staff who always speak to you and are helpful with tips of where to go and what to see. Would stay here again no problem.
