This is quite a large site with many static vans and holiday homes. It has a little stream running through it.
The shower/toilet block was clean with lots of hot water. It was a push button shower which only lasted between 10 and 20 seconds which was a bit annoying but it was hot with good pressure.
There was a games/TV room but I can't comment as we didn't use it. There is also a laundry room which I also didn't use.
It is a 10 minute walk into Balloch with lots of pubs and restaurants and Loch Lomond cruises.
Loch Lonond Shores shopping centre is around 5 minute walk with a House of Frazer department store.
There is also a chinese restaurant and a MacDonalds next to the site. Phone, internet and TV reception was good. A great site.

A wild and windy night when we found this park. Beautifully laid out in a very attractive setting with a creek running through.
A well appointed shower block, although coin operated and I used up all my coins waiting for the hot water to arrive. A brief and mostly cold shower - not nice on a cold day but we only stayed one night.
Friendly and helpful camp owners and close enough to Balloch for a very nice dinner.
Very close to Loch Lomond with all the walks and activities available there.
Probably wouldn't go back unless the shower problem is fixed.

Stayed here with our campervan. The site was 1st class. In fact everything was 1st class
Would I stay here again. A BIG YES. My wife and I will be booking in again May this year (2011)
Staff excellent. Toilets very very clean and tidy with lovely music playing. Spoke to one of the gardeners about the area around the site and he was very helpful and said he enjoyed working on the site and talking to the people from all over the country and afar.

Stayed here over the Christmas period to 'see in' the New Year with relatives in Glasgow.
The site is easy to find and well maintained, we had a fully serviced pitch which was bliss but still used the heated and very warm shower block which was always clean and even had the radio playing over the speakers.
The site is well situated for visiting Glasgow which is an 30 minute drive approx but there is so much more to see around Loch Lomond. MacDonalds is handy for emergency kids meals and Lomond Shores shopping area and Sea Life are just a short 5 minute walk.
We shall definitely be using this site again at Christmas and New Year but will remember to book early as they were nearly fully booked!

The site is in a beautiful picturesque location with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The contact at the head office, Rachel Wood, was extremely helpful and polite and made booking the site hassle free.
It is well maintained with good and very clean facilities. Would definitely recommend using this site if your looking to stop in the area.

Stayed here for May bank holiday for 2 nights. On arrival went to the desk and the lady there was polite and helpful, showed us exactly where our pitch was with a map we took away with us. I was on a fully serviced pitch which was hardstanding and good size with hedges & flowers separating you from the next door.
Toilet block was very clean and it looked modern with the play park next to the block which had swings etc there with astroturf.
The site itself is a great base for going out and about with Mcdonalds (for the kids) right next to you and a Chinese. Lomond shores is 5mins walk away and great location for views etc. The centre of Balloch is about 10 mins walk and we found a chip shop there which had gluten free all the time which we thought was brill considering my daughter is caelic and she was very excited about fish n chips.
All in all we had a good weekend and the site was full you could hear a pin drop at night.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our holiday touring Scotland. Staff on arrival were functional but not over friendly or helpful. We had pre-booked a fully serviced hardstanding pitch and were pleased with the location and everything worked fine. There were plenty of toilets and showers, even a bath in some of the cubicles and the facilities were generally very clean although flooded on occasion and, being next to the children's play area, used by children on their own and not flushed etc.
This is quite a big site with chalets and statics which seem to be privately owned and like mini mansions. There seemed to be something going on with picnic benches which were all very similar (owned by the park?) but chained to many people's caravans / motorhomes. Very aloof atmosphere.
The site is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Balloch and the Lakeside shopping centre. Not really much there of interest. We cycled from the campsite (turn left at the entrance) to Luss which is a wonderfully pretty old village - it was cycle path all the way which was great but most of it was alongside the main road which wasn't much fun. We went to the Chinese just outside the site on the last night of our holiday and had a wonderful meal - very friendly staff and great food, thoroughly recommended.
We set off at 8am the next morning. The office was closed and we had to post our key to the toilet block through the letterbox. They never did send us our £5 deposit back. Obviously not too worried about repeat business!

Our second visit to this site and it will not be our last, reception staff are most welcoming and helpful, sites are generally on the large side, toilets are always clean and warm, only gripe being as previously stated the showers only stay on for a few seconds! The entrance gate to the site is closed at 23.00 hours each evening although you can still leave the site via the one way system if you return however after 23.00 hours you will need to leave your car in the visitors car park.
There is just SO much to do and see around Loch Lomond, I would recommend a sail on the Loch, a visit to Duck Bay Marina, and a trip to nearby Helensburgh ( birthplace of John Logie Baird inventor of television )
There is an excellent Chinese restaurant adjacent to the site and a McDonalds next door to that. There is also a really good Indian restaurant just a 10 minute walk from the site.
All in all a site well worth a visit!

This site is only 90 mins away from where we stay so is one we have used regularly for the past 8 years for long weekends or Fri -Sun. Its is a fairly large site comprising of both statics, chalets and a large touring site. The chalets I believe are for rent only and many of the statics are privately owned. The touring site is split in two and has a lot of seasonal vans and around 20 fully serviced pitches. Staff on reception are pretty friendly and the shop stocks a small supply of essentials. Over the years we have been visiting the owners seem to have focused all their investment into statics and new chalets with only minor improvements to the touring facilities. We feel the touring facilities have gradually declined year on year and anyone expecting CC or C&CC standards will be disappointed. The toilet block is clean but very tired and in need of upgrade. The water pressure is either too high and stings when on full force or you have to run around to get wet and could be warmer. However this site is all about location and you literally have Loch Lomond and the Lomond Shores Visitor Centre on your door step. Near the entry to the park there is a great chinese restaurant / takeaway and a McDonalds and in Balloch itself ( about 15mins walk) there are several restaurants, cafes, take aways and a supermarket. Can't comment on the statics or the chalets but the touring park does not deserve the 5 star rating in our opinion. However if you know this in advance and use your on board facilities like we do its worth stopping for the location. As mentioned by others Luss is also worth a vist and the Inverbeg Hotel near Luss does great meals. A drive up the east coast of the Loch is also worthwhile or further North and following the road round to Arrochar and on to Inverary.

Situated near Glasgow and off the A82 with some shops nearby,we used an Aldi in Alexandria. This site is pretty and well landscaped with little bridges and a burn running through and under them. It is neat and tidy with attractive log cabins. The toilet blocks, dish washing room and loos all have to be entered with a key, £5 deposit for 2 keys only, there were 3 of us so a hassle at times. The dish wash room has 2 sinks, ample room and was very clean. The mens rooms were clean, the womens showers and loos were flooded on the floor, with accompanying detritus and still like it the following morning. The showers were fine but a tight space to wash in, rather like a small cupboard and definitely nowhere to put towels and clothes so had to be thrown over door. Sinks and a free hairdryer, very nice, clean as well. Games room also to be used with a key, had to buy the ping pong balls. TV old and only a few shaky stations in a small room with shabby uncomfortable chairs .One room closed with a load of stock or furniture piled in it so not available. We were asked to pay prior to arrival as may not be room, when we arrived there were masses of empty spaces and we still had to do the bank card procedure all over again. This is to do with it being unprocessed we were informed. We purchased 24 hrs of wi fi for £6 and it would not work the following morning. Asking staff in the office that morning we were told we should have read the small print and not logged out.
This site is overpriced compared to those we have been on and experienced wonderful help and spotless facilities for far less money. Would not use again.
