Paula had never been to Scotland before so we stayed here for two nights with our little Shih-tzu Sam, en-route to the Western Highlands so that she could see more of the beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer, and boy it didn't disappoint, she fell in love with Scotland almost as soon as we got there.
We had booked a fully serviced pitch which made our lives easier during our stay. The pitch was a good size and had water, EHU, tv and a drainage point all in situ.
On arrival we were shown on a map where our pitch was and after handing over a fiver deposit, we were handed our keys to the toilet block and chemical toilet disposal room. Why these are necessary is anyone's guess, we only assumed that it kept the children from keep going in and out as happens at some sites? These were very modern, clean and warm but the water took quite a while to get hot in the showers. The site was much larger than we normally use and was surprised that the mens only had 3 toilets, 3 showers, about 8 sinks and a bath for you to wash small children, having said this, we didn't have to queue whilst we were there. Showers are the push button type that don't stay on for very long.
The site itself is lovely and picturesque with pine and spruce trees adorning the perimeter of the site and only a 15 minute walk to Loch Lomond itself, where you can catch the ferry bus to Luss or Malmaha.
We travelled to both Malmaha and Luss by car and what lovely places they are to visit with scenic views most of the way to Malmaha and the stunning village of Luss with its flower covered candy box cottages. (don't forget your camera). There was a wedding at the local church the day we visited Luss, with a piper playing outside, this just made the day much more special, hearing the pipes and seeing the beauty of Loch Lomond from a very pretty vantage point.
Back to the Site, there is a dog walking area, well, more of a trail really for you to exercise dogs on leads but it doesn't take long to get to the other end as you walk along the back of Mcdonalds. There are quite a few wild rabbits on site so please keep dogs on leads at all times.
The Mcdonalds is situated just outside and to the right of the campsite next to a chinese restaurant that also delivers to the site. The prices are on the high side so we decided not to bother but we have read on here that they are really nice.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here but would prefer a smaller site, but that's just us, the staff were very friendly and helpful and even made arrangements for us to get our key deposit back the previous night as we were leaving before the office opened the following morning, and issued us with a spare key for the toilet block to shove through the letter box on departure.
Would we return, possibly not, but not through any fault of the site, purely because we prefer smaller sites.

This is day-trip distance for us, so we wouldn't usually stay but we had an event locally and stayed 2 nights. We feel neutral about the site - we wouldn't avoid it in future, but we won't rush back. We wouldn't base ourselves here for a holiday, as touring with a motorhome takes you past other sites (e. G. Several at East Loch Lomond which give you loch views and a beach).
Good points - Motorhomes all on hardstands and well spaced, all with EHU; a large site but well divided by trees and the old estate wall so it feels smaller; well managed and maintained; £21. 50 pn seemed reasonable (but costs more to pay by credit card); motorhome service bay; it's a chain and the staff are pleasant. Toilets had free showers, some sink & toilet cubicles, one toilet and shower cubicle, a free hairdryer, and hip baths (£1 per ration of hot water). There are regular Farmers Markets at Lomond Shores near the Jenners shop, in walking distance. There's a train station and a Co-op in the town.
Niggles - The site could be anywhere as there are no views of the Loch or the hills; dog walk is marred by piles of builders' and gardeners' rubbish; having a radio playing in the toilets is OK, but here it's Radio 2 - local radio would give local weather, and advertise local events; the toilet paper is unpleasantly cheap & thin; there is one central shower drain which means that next door lady's suds and lather drained onto my feet. (I'd use the toilet and shower cubicle to avoid this if I come back, as that shower had its own tray and was much bigger. )
A seasonal caravan had loud music, singing and swearing until nearly 1 am on Saturday - that's not the site's fault, but I hope this lack of consideration doesn't happen every time they visit for the weekend.

Good site well laid out with friendly receptionist they stocked a few bits and pieces you may run out of. Toilet block clean warm and had plenty of hot water.
Nice walk left out of gates, to a outlet centre, sea world and a nice little bay with coffee shops and a little market on different days it was all med food whilst I was there.
Turn right out of gate and a pleasant walk to the village with plenty of places to eat and drink and a couple of shops covering all you r needs (there was supermarket but a car was needed).
We took a mini cruise to Luss (very pretty village) there was a good commentary giving you all the details of houses, Islands and golf clubs you passed on shore very good value.
There is a Chinese Restaurant close to the site food OK but we found very pricey,
Would go again for facilities and you can get to so many places from there.

Arrived at site, not impressed at all. Toilet blocks very run down. Park bit run down. Couldn't get in to games room as being painted, also other areas of park being painted and coned off.
Roads being tarred and possibly got worst pitch possible, all the nice pitches seem to be kept for weekenders, even though we were there for 4 or 5 days
Staff at park was nice although management of all the parks were very unhelpful, don't want to know when you phone them with problems. My advise is make sure you get what you want when you arrive otherwise you have no chance.

Just back from two nights at this site. The grounds and facilities are excellent and maintained to a very high standard. Toilets are spotless and are obviously cleaned on a regular basis. Staff are friendly and appear to work continuously to maintain the site. Balloch and Loch Lomond shores are minutes away with a good selection of pubs and restaurants. Drove to Balmaha and took the ferry to one of the islands where there is a walk and a lovely beach with picnic and bbq area. All in all I rate this site highly and will return.

We used this site for a stop over from the West Riding en route to Oban.
It is a quiet, picturesque site, with very good facilities, and a pleasant welcome from the staff.
We walked into Balloch. There are several food outlets on the way, but we had a decent meal in the pub just over the bridge. It was busy, but the service was good and the quality sound. Recommend the smoked haddock risotto.
The town itself is spoiled by the volumes of litter everywhere.
We also enjoyed a lovely tour of Loch Long, which was a pity since were aiming for Oban in a different direction.

Still an excellent site. Staff were very helpful on arrival. Stayed for two nights on the first weekend in March with very mixed weather, but there are lots of hardstanding areas and paths so shoes were kept clean.
Showers and toilet blocks very clean and a really good shower.
Cantonese restaurant on Friday night and had an excellent meal.
Not sure if previous reviews have mentioned shops - there is a big Co-op in Balloch - 15 mins walk from the site. Also Jenners at Loch Lomond Shores. Good for a browse. Good breakfast and coffee facilities there as well.
Excellent walk from Loch Lomond shores - pass the sealife centre following the waters and follow the paths to Balloch, cross the road bridge in the village then turn left at the hotel and follow the waters edge into Balloch Castle park.
Antartex outlet village breakfast is well advertised on the site - 9. 30 to 11. 30, but we found on Saturday morning by 11. 00am there was little left and it was cold. Need to get there early!
Still think that £5 for 24 hours of wifi is expensive. Go to McDonalds outside the gate and it's free and fast.

Excellent site. Stayed for a long weekend. Toilets and shower block were spotlessly clean. We were on a fully serviced pitch which had bags of room and plug in digital tv.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a McDonalds and a Cantonese restaurant/takeaway within yards of the campsite entrance and an Indian takeaway on the road to Balloch - about 10 mins walk.
The food from both the Cantonese and Indian restaurants were suberb. Loch Lomond is about a 10 minute walk away. We went on the one hour boat trip which was great with breathtaking views and very educational.
All in all a good weekend was had and we will definitely be back in the near future.

We arrived late at this site after booking earlier the same day.
We knocked at the wardens caravan, as directed by the note at reception and was quickly given keys for the loos, a map and directions to our site. Very efficient!
The site is lovely, very tidy and well equipped with a nice children's play area. The toilets and showers were great, very clean and Radio 2 playing!
The washing up facilities were the same. Reception had a small selection of basics available but not a full shop, which was no problem as the local shops were a 5 minute walk away.
Overall, the site was excellent and one to which we would definitely return.
One thing to mention is the Chinese Restaurant just outside the gates. Although a little pricey, the food was wonderful and the service the best I have ever experienced!

We have just stopped here for 3 nights whilst touring scotland, it was great. Having Macdonalds so close was a bonus, 2 min walk from site.
Site is located very close to loch lomond 5-10min walk and close to main road so we could carry on touring without too much hassle/detour.
On site everything is kept extremely clean and tidy, pitches are quite large and overall you don't feel cramped. Toilets are very clean and so are the showers play area for the kids good and kept our 7 year old happy.
All in all we was very please with this site and didn't have any complaints regarding the site at all, if we return to Scotland it would be a great site to revisit.
