The site is clean and the toilets have been improved a lot. There are quite a few negatives however. The site is overcrowded with small pitches and narrow roads with high bushes. As a caravan owner there are far to many posts and bollards making it a mammoth task getting a caravan and car in and out. They seem obsessed with posts, gates and random concrete pillars all making it undesirable to return. You can always get in here and it really is our last call if we are desperate to get into Bournemouth area. They need to widen the roadways and pitches and make some dedicated walkways across the site as everyone literally walks through your set up to get between the toilets and playground, very annoying. And remove the annoying excessive posts!

We have just returned home from a fabulous 5 night break at this site. All the staff are really friendly and helpful, always with a cheery greeting when they pass. The site itself is very well maintained, clean and tidy. The main shower block is very clean and was never busy, although we were there during a quiet period at the end of half term week.
Think we would probably agree with other reviews that the pitches are quite tight, and although we had plenty of room, with no-one next door, not sure what it would be like during a busy period. There doesn't seem to be enough room to park cars at the side of the tent, and you are asked to park in front, not allowing much space to sit out and enjoy the surroundings.
The site was generally very quiet and most (although not all!) campers observe the 'no noise after 11pm' rule. There was only one night that inconsiderate campers kept us awake beyond 12. 30am by talking loudly.
The playground is lovely, with equipment for children of varying ages, and also space to run around/kick a football.
The site is ideally located for visiting lots of lovely places including Dorset beaches, Brownsea Island and the New Forest. There are also supermarkets (Sainsburys and Lidl), a Beefeater pub and McDonalds within easy walking distance.
We would definitely return, and feel there is still so much to do around the area that we didn't manage to see.

We have just returned from a great 3 night break at St Leonard's Farm and I wanted to write a review to recommend this lovely site. The reviews we read before we came were mixed but I have to say our experience was very positive indeed.
We booked an electric pitch along with our friends who have a caravan and were placed alongside each other. We were given clear guidance on how to pitch and we found we had plenty of room for our large 4 man tent with our car parked in front. Drainage was good, as we had a couple of heavy downpours. We were close to a modern, well equipped shower block with plenty of hot running water and exceptionally clean. Lots of sinks for washing up and bins that were emptied regularly. Although the park was very busy it didn't feel like it and I never had to queue to use the facilities. Most people respected the no noise after 11pm rule, which was appreciated.
St Leonard's Farm is situated close to lots of attractions including Bournemouth and Moors Valley Country Park, both of which we visited during our stay. There are a number of 'handy' shops close by including a couple of supermarkets, ideal for those BBQ essentials. Also several family friendly restaurants.
A couple of points to note: the entrance is fairly concealed on a busy road and down a fairly narrow drive but don't let this put you off as it was not a problem for us or our friends towing their caravan. Also, you will need £10 for a key card to gain access to and from the site but this is returned when you leave.
Highly recommended and we will return.

We stayed here for 3 nights and found all the staff to be very helpful and courteous. We were pitched up in 'Field A' which was all grass (no hard standing) and the toilet block on our field was very basic. However, there were far better facilities in an adjacent field. The only criticism I really have is how tight it was to get onto, and off, the field. On our exit we had to brush against the hedge and the caravan missed the toilet block by 'mm'. Our caravan is almost 26', but regardless of the length of the caravan this would be still be tight. We were there over a very busy bank holiday weekend and still found we had enough space between the pitches. We made use of the local pub which was just walking distance, and enjoyed our stay at the site.

We decided to try out this camp site which received above 8 review ratings. I have to agree with some of the positives mentioned in the previous reviews. The campsite is kept tidy, facilities are good and the staff are friendly. However, the site is approx. 30 mins away from the beach and that is quite a drive when traffic is heavy. My biggest issue is that the tents and caravans are placed like sardines. There is no chance of any privacy and children kept kicking balls at our tent, which was very unpleasant (they could not help it as there was no room for kicking the ball about!). The whole set up reminded me of a refugee camp with expensive tents and well of refugees. We were going to stay for the weekend but left after one night as we felt that out garden was much larger than the room allocated to our tent/car was. I suppose the camp site could work if it is not overcrowded. However, I will not take that chance again!

I booked a three night stay for myself and two young children for our first ever camping trip - we were not disappointed.
I booked via phone - staff very helpful and polite, this warm friendly welcome continued when we arrived. Staff happy to help, provided services such as phone charging, blow up air beds ect.
We were told which field we were in put were able to pick where we wanted to pitch. The pitch sizes were a little on the small size but I still felt like we had enough space around us to feel comfortable.
The shower / toilet block was very clean - you were encouraged to mop out the shower after use which everyone seemed happy to do. There was always plenty of hot water, soap and toilet paper, and a dressing table area where you could sit to help young children dress, fix your hair / makeup. Plug sockets for such things as hair drier or straighteners - a hair drier was also provided.
The children loved the park and space along side it to play in and they enjoyed the freedom this allowed while I felt comfortable that they were safe in this area.
There are barriers to the park which are controlled by a key card that you are given at the start of your stay (for a £10 refundable deposit) I liked this knowing that not just anyone could drive on to the site which helped me to feel more relaxed and allowing the kids that little bit of extra freedom.
The site was well placed - short drive to the beach (or would have been if I hadn't gone the wrong way), shops, bars and new forest.
It would have been nice to have a small shop on site just for basics such as milk, bread etc but not a real issue as shops such a short drive.
The site operates a no noise policy between 11pm and 7am which most people stuck to.
We very much enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning in the future.

The campsite is really nicely laid out and the site is really flat. It didn't rain whilst there so cant comment on drainage. The playground is big enough for all kids in August to play in and there is plenty of space for them to run around in.
A few bad points which our family feel are quite important.
1 - the pitches are really small. There is enough room for a caravan and an awning and that's it. The car has to be parked in front of the caravan and the 'neighbours' are really close.
2 - the gate to drive into the field is ridiculously small. Every caravanner had to reverse to be able to make the turn into the field. 3 people whilst we were there scratched their caravans whilst trying to make the turn. So caravanners need to be aware of this.
Although the campsite is really close to the main road traffic noise isn't too bad. Sainsburys and McDonalds is really round the corner - 2 mins in the car!
Facilities were basic but really clean. As we were there over the bank holiday there were big queues for the toilet and showers but hot water was available throughout the day.
Overall campsite was fine but wouldn't return due to entrance into top field with caravan and small pitch size, but if you're tenting in a smaller tent that would be no bother.

We had a great time staying at this campsite. It's clean, tidy and well presented.
The toilet block has free electric sockets for those of us ladies who still like to look our best, the showers are lovely and hot and also free.
The washing up area is ample and there is even recycling bins situated around the site.
Campers are encouraged to be considerate of others and even though we (my husband and 14yr old son and I) were pitched near young children, we weren't disturbed early mornings or late at night.
We would highly recommend this site. There is a very nice Beefeater Pub just a few yards up the road and a Sainsburys too.
Perfectly situated to access Bournemouth, Dorset, Southampton for Isle of White ferries and of course the beautiful New Forest Country Park with lovely wild horses roaming the area.
We would definitely stay here again.

Upon arrival at the reception you are greeted by notices of threat of eviction from the site and other various warnings. Having booked in the staff don't even give a site guide you are told where to go and that's it. The site was flat but I was very surprised to see commercial vehicles parked next to caravans (never known a site to accept these). The toilet block was just a portable set up. The shower block with toilets were ok but I think for the number of pitches should be larger. I cant recommend this site as I found it very basic compared to many others I have stayed at and the price did not reflect its poor facilities. Not a site I will be going back to.

Just had a good 2 weeks holiday at this site.
Just a few things to mention.
1. Keep a look out for the signs to enter the site. If you miss it, you'll have to go around busy roundabouts to get back to it as the site is located off of a very busy dual carriageway.
2. The pitches are far too small for caravans. It's a good job we didn't take our bigger awning, with bed sections at each end, as we would not have been able to fit it on the pitch.
3. The road leading up to the site is very narrow. Two caravans would NOT be able to pass each other.
4. Internet connection is non existant.
5. A mobile Fish and Chip van comes every Friday and Sunday evening. Very welcome indeed.
6. Noise from the dual carriageway is somewhat loud, especially all the motor bikes.
7. Disabled facilities. The shower/toilet door did not lock. My husband asked for it to be fixed and was told that the whole area was due an update. In the meantime he was told to sing louder! It was not fixed by the time we left. I had to hold the door handle for him. This is unacceptable.
