Our stay started with a 5/10 ended as 7/10.
First visit here, stayed for a week incorporating the Jubilee bank holiday. £27 a night for a tent with electric, 2 adults 3 kids.
Our Outwell Vermont XLP left us with very little room for much else on the pitch. We struggled to sit outside due to being ‘roadside’. Whilst this is only a small access road to the overflow and the kids play area people were driving WAY to fast. Campsite has a 5mph rule but with no lollipop/stakes/posters this is not enforced and at times it was dangerous. With the road and the busy weekend we felt a bit like caged hens at first.
Kids play area has a brook which runs around it, rope defines the play area which is very dated (slide, swings, roundabout) and in need of an upgrade.
1st couple of nights few noisy campers (baseline of music heard from male only tent in next field) but 11pm curfew was observed so fair enough I guess.
Wardens were very helpful and on the ball. Had a bee hive removed by professionals within 3 hours of reporting it. We thought this was very good service. Bins emptied daily. Toilets kept clean.
However, I feel it is wrong to not provide soap in the toilets. Wall mounted liquid soap would not cost much surely?
Only 4 toilets in the block (rest in a kind of pimped up portable cabin). Was a peak weekend so some queues for showers which were clean, free and hot. Free hairdryer and electric points in ladies shower block.
Was a bit peeved at being charged £5 per night for an extra car which then had to be squeezed onto the pitch we had already paid for. Leaving us even less space. For £5 a night I would have expected a visitors car park.
Once the park thinned out it took on a completely different feel, so much nicer for not being squashed in. Kids had room to play, we had room to enjoy a Pimms. Didn’t feel like caged hens anymore.
Campsite is off of a dual carriageway, a pub is a 10 min walk (but alongside the dual carriageway). Halfords, McDonalds, Lidl, Sainsburys, Murco all within 10 min walk so no need for shop on site really. But going to a big chain store for your milk and paper doesn’t quite fit with the camping ethos for us.
This site is probably not my favourite ever but I would go back. It’s a good location, it’s clean, it’s not full of Wayne and Waynetta’s, it’s not too big and staff are friendly and helpful.

We selected this park for its location and facilities listed. The park on a whole was well maintained and level with lots of bins that were emptied each day but a little pricy for what we got. We paid £31 per night and stayed for 4 nights over the jubilee weekend bank holiday.
On arriving with our twin axle 6 berth van the approach into the park was very narrow along with lots of speed humps and then had to navigate the barrier system which cost £10 (refundable)took some manoeuvring - not ideal for a large tourer. We were greeted by a very lovely warden and was given a pitch and instructions for pitching which was useful, but the pitch was located opposite hedge rows which again maid manoeuvring very difficult to get the van centred to the red post.
We then had no space to park our car next to our unit and had to park in front of our van which we felt for fire regulations this should not have been so. The hedge rows are a nice idea for privacy but that's all we could see except for our vehicle and also caused damage to our van on the way in and exiting due to sharp bends to navigate your caravan around which is not ideal for any caravan, and in the event of meeting another caravan on your way in or out - there is simply no where to go.
Once pitched up and exploring the park we found the children's play area which was minimal and dated and nothing for our toddler to do, but amused our two older children for a short while.
The main toilet block looked nice, but did not use due to it being so far away from our pitch, we just used our caravan shower and toilet. One thing that was a little concerning for us was the chemical waste disposal point. This was literally a man hole cover that you lifted and poured your waste and grey water down as couldn't find a grey waste disposal point. This had to be done in the open with small children all around you playing, other peoples waste and toilet tissue sploshed over the cover etc etc. Just felt this was inappropriate and unhygienic.
The site has no shop for necessities but there was plenty off site only 5 minutes away.
We were assured that there was space to exercise our dogs, but there wasn't due to the meadows being used for overflow camping, so they were a little disappointed at not being able to run, but they enjoyed the local area and runs in the new forest.
The visiting chip van sounded a lovely idea, however 1 hour and 20 minutes for 3 bags of chips was not worth the wait and only wished that I knew this before ordering. It also caused concern for safety and hygiene as the van was not stabilised with its jacks down with 3 people inside working with hot fat and had little regard to food handling and hygiene. Handling of money and then food. Hands were not washed in the whole 1hr 20mins of me standing there. At this point of not being able to watch anymore I walked away. I would recommend considering asking for estimated time before purchasing or popping off site to get your fish and chips.
The website shows limited information and pictures of the park, which we felt if we had seen prior to booking maybe we would have been prepared for what we were getting. If we were to return it would only be for location to be near to activities in the area.
We had three lovely days out with our family to the heavy horse centre, Poole and the new forest.

We stayed at this campsite in the middle of August and despite it being the busy season and the campsite being quite full it never seemed busy or crowded. A lot of people went out on daytrips but the space of the tent fields meant that people who stayed on site had lots of room.
Everything from arrival to departure was friendly, welcoming and easy. We arrived after a 6 hour journey (lots of toilet stops for the children) and were given a pitch number and pitching instructions. There are a number of tent fields so the pitch number includes the field and a location number.
All pitches are labelled on a white fencepost and the instructions say to pitch with the middle of the tent inline with the fence post. This works well and means you don’t have to worry about your neighbours.
We saw later in our visit that this is monitored by the site as they stopped a couple from pitching their tent when it wasn’t lined up properly. Whilst there was room at the side of the tent for a car everyone parked them in front and this still left lots of room for playing ball games.
We were in field F next to the main toilet and shower block. These were clean all during our visit and never so busy you had to queue. There were other less modern blocks around the site. My two girls would like to ask the site owners to look at removing some of the spiders in the block rafters (and after many screaming visits to the toilets and showers so would their Mum).
Facilities on site are basic compared to some but for us they were perfect. No clubhouse means less rowdy noise at night and leads to a more social environment around the tent areas. A playground on site is also fairly basic but enough to keep the children entertained and although, as mentioned in other reviews, it seems close to the water but not dangerously close.
A few people on the site felt a campshop would be useful but a short walk away (less than 10 minutes) is a small local shop. To get to this you walk out the campsite entrance, turn right and use the subway to get under the road, head to the petrol station and turn left down the road before the station. On the left down there is a small group of shops including a general shop and a bakery. A bit further away is a Halfords, McDonalds, Sainsburys and a pub (all within 15 minutes walk).
The Friday and Sunday night visit by the fish and chip van is a great idea. We visited it on Sunday and they make the food fresh to order so everything is piping hot and very nice.
The site is close to lots of great day visit areas. We travelled to Avon Beach and Corfe Castle without any problems at all.
The entrance to the site is on a dual carriage way but there are roundabouts either side so access from either direction is fairly easy (but we did spend most journeys going round these roundabouts). Keep an eye out for the signs on your first visit as missing the entrance can be a bit frustrating, Sat Nav tries to take you into a little housing area just after the entrance.
The site has a no noise policy after 11pm which was very welcome but the large open spaces on the tent fields means groups of teenagers play ball games until dark (and one night after dark with torches), so the 11pm is seen as a target rather than a cut off.
Overall we found this a relaxing, quiet site that perfectly suited our family holiday. We could relax and wind down on the site or visit local attractions easily.
The two things I think the site can improve on (on top of the spider request) are a reduced noise policy after 9pm (i. E. Loud games or noises) and better promotion of the local shop to get people to use it (there are some sites where the camp shop is further than this local shop).
Three word summary: friendly, relaxing and welcoming

We have just come back from 3 nights & have really loved our weekend! We were pitched in the overflow field with the park & have no complaints at all.
The staff were amazing & very helpful. The toilet shower block were always clean & well stocked & have plugs for hairdryers etc (have a shower & charge your mobile phone)
Sainburys is only a 10 minute walk, I know I did it! & Lidl is on a 5 minute walk.
There is a lovely pub called the Woodman with a children's play area which is only a 5 minute drive but took us 20 as we cycled!
This was a lovely site & we will visit again

We stayed for 2 nights at St Leonards farm in August 2011, primarilarly as a base for visiting the bournemouth air show. I think this campsite offers great value for money, 16pound per night for a standard pitch during peak season.
The location of the site is a major bonus, near to bournemouth, poole, new forest etc. Also various shops and petrol station within a few minutes from the campsite.
This is helpful as there did not seem to be an on-site shop. The toilet facilities are spacious and clean. Did not use the showers so cannot comment on that.
Overall this campsite is in a great location and is great value for money. The owners also seemed friendly and efficient.
The only negative was that the pitches were quite small and as most people have larger tents these days it did seem a bit packed in.
Would return to this site in future as a base for exploring the surrounding areas.

We stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend of the Bournemouth Airshow to celebrate a friends birthday.
The site is quiet despite being close to a main road and at night time with clear skies it is beautiful looking up at the stars. There is a no noise rule after 11pm which during our stay was pretty much adhered too. There were groups about, but no music and hushed voices were disturbing no one.
The play area was a bit antiquated but our kids aged 9 and 7 spent a while there and enjoyed running around and making friends.
There was a £10 cash deposit for the barrier card.
Pitches were good sizes with or without hook up and our Khyam Ontario 8 and canopy fitted comfortably as well as our car.
We used the central toilet/shower block and did peek at the portable cabin toilets. In general they were clean, but not always tidy, even though the site was not full. Showers were hot.
There is a Beefeater restaurant 5 mins walk away and a Sainsburys, a Lidl and a Halfords a little bit further up the road. There are local shops the other side of the dual carriageway but I would not fancy trying to cross it as it is very busy.
It is ideally located for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and the beaches.
We would visit again for a short stay as it is a great base for the beaches and nice relaxing quiet site.

A well placed site in easy reach of good beaches and the New Forest, as well as the inland towns of Ringwood and Wimbourne.
The site wasn't bad but I couldn't help thinking that it had seen better days. Of the two types of toilet and shower blocks, one was fine but the other 'shack' was an eyesore (with very small cubicles as already mentioned by other reviewers).
The pitches were very small. Our tent guy ropes crossed the ones of the adjacent tents, and I wondered if this closeness violated any fire regulations.
Much more pleasant were the overflow fields, with their lush grass, nice outlook and pretty boundary river. The children's play park is located in this part but beware of the river for young children / non-swimmers.
I would stay in the overflow fields if I went again.
Be warned that the traffic around this area is dense and a trip out anywhere involves sitting in at least one traffic jam.

On arrival the staff were very friendly & helpful they were very helpful in guiding me to where our pitch was.
I liked how the pitches were set out and the space we had around the tent.
The toilets were clean but I do agree with an earlier comment on here that the cabin toilets are not much good for the larger lady but their are other toilets which are fine.
Good access to local shops and Bournemouth & Poole are a short drive away.
I have older children and both families that I was camping with have older children aged between 11 - 15 and the park was a nice escape for them it gave them somewhere to kick the ball around without disturbing other campers and they spent most of their time at the park there mixing with other children and as I bonus mine didn't say ''I'm bored'' once
I was very pleased with my stay here and would visit again

The campsite is well maintained and the pitches are flat and well looked after. Really friendly welcome.
We were pitched near the entrance so had toilets and basins in a kind of portacabin, which were clean if a little old.
The showers and washing up facilities were at the other end of the site which seemed very busy with lots of children, so we were glad to be up the other end.
The campsite was right off the very busy main road to Ringwood. Sainsuburys close by (not really able to walk due to the main road), two pubs on that main road, both not dog friendly! We had to get a taxi to a dog friendly pub to watch the football.
Overall an ok campsite, we wont return due to local facilities rather that the actual campsite.

We loved this site, very flat(if a bit hard, bent all our pegs!) and perfect for visiting Bournemouth /Christchurch. The toilets where very clean and hot water at all times, the lady booking us in was very nice and gave us a card with pitch number and how they wanted us to pitch the tent had a lovely big pitch plenty of space for our big 10 man tent with extension. The park for the children wasn't up to much, and as it was surrounded by marsh land it wasn't safe to allow our children to play there by themselves, we only went once and the children didn't ask to go again.
To say we went in aug the site wasn't busy and it had a lovely mix of people who where all lovely. No on site shop but as there is a lidl, sainsburys, mcdonalds, and a petrol staion just 5 mins away that was not a problem. Also a couple of pubs just 5 mins away with resturants(2 for 2 places), a halfords and a camp shop everything you need is close by, Bournemouth is a fantastic place and we didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted, so will be booking again for next year.
