This is our first visit to this campsite, and found it to be very clean and tidy. The toilets are fab. Also very peaceful and in a central place of beauty in Dartmoor. There have been comments about the recycling and comments about the hard standing but we found this perfect. Easy-going owners, and very helpful and polite. There is a great patch for dog walking. We will revisit again if we are in the area. Thanks again.

We stayed at Woodland Springs over the August Bank Holiday. It is a very tidy site, quite well laid out with all facilities in one place. We did think however that it has been gravelled to the extreme taking away quite a lot of its character and making it look like a car park. The showers have a push button operation which is slightly annoying but it dribbled rather than gushed (not a biggy really but worth noting). Also be aware that only at the chemical toilet point does it say that they have a septic tank so organic only !.

Peaceful, friendly, really nice pitches with picnic tables. Great on site facilities. Rarely go to same place twice but will definitely visit again. Ideal for visiting Devon attractions or just chilling. Pubs not really within walking distance so recommend stocking up first with food and booze of your choice.
Pitches well spaced out but ours was a on a bit of a slope. Electrical hookup for tents was a bonus.

What a wonderful tent and caravan site ;-) Owners could not have been more helpful if they tried. We (Kim, Chris and Harley the dog) pitched our Coleman Mackenzie 6XL on plot 63, which was the perfect size and well looked after. Admittedly we were the entertainment for an hour or so whilst we tried to figure out how the tent is erected using the Coleman instructions. These were abandoned and a pragmatic approach taken, This curiously worked ;-) All the facilities were first class. The shower block was beyond reproach and well deserves the 'Loo of The Year Award'. The dog walk is large enough to let dogs run freely (especially as dusk when the rabbits dare to venture out). The attention to detail is excellent. The site is well situated for days out to Dartmoor and all the beautiful villages (and pubs!). Plenty of Cream Tea emporiums around too. Getting back to the site we were blessed with wall to wall sunshine for the duration of our stay. The shop was well stocked with the usual essentials plus to everyone's relief proper Devon Ice cream and a nice selection of cool beers :-). All in all an excellent site, well maintained, well run and a genuine drive to make sure every effort is made for the customer to feel special.

We have recently returned from a 4 night stay at this site. It is the first time we have been camping in a while.
I would recommend this site for all adults. The owners are very helpful in letting you know what is in the local area. The toilet and shower block are cleaned every day and of a very high standard, one of the best ones I have visited.
We found the other campers friendly. The site is small and very personal.
We had 2 dogs with us and there are plenty of walking from the park.
Will definitely be returning in the future.

Spent Sunday to Friday here. very nice site clean tidy. Adult only site. Toilets and showers ok, nice and clean, not very warm as the heaters seemed to be turned off, although the water was hot. Found the owners a little grumpy at times, after a 7 hour drive no real welcome but was told about the recycling and Bread had to be ordered the day before (not that we wanted any). Bit of a drive to the nearest shop etc.

This used to be quite a nice site but on our return visit here this year, we found that the majority of the pitches had been turned into over-gravelled, dusty, unattractive parking bays with a tiny strip of grass clinging to the edges - that's if you were lucky, as the pitches on the right hand side had no grass or dividing hedges at all. If we'd wanted to stay overnight in a car park, we could have done so at much less expense! I understand the need for hard standings but this site has truly gone too far. And I agree with other comments re. The overly strict rules and regulations, delivered in a 'school marm'ly' fashion that left me feeling scared to set foot outside the van in case I might be 'put on detention'! Yes, its a nice location, and the toilet block is pleasant, but with only two showers in the womens bit, it meant a wait in a queue in the morning. We used to come here at least once a year - but we wont be back after this last visit.

A really well maintained and thought out site. Level pitches, nice and quiet. Showers were clean with plenty of hot water and while I can see that the push button system is a bit inconvenient, it really is only a minor point for us. What is great is the provision of a hot coffee machine which meant we didn't always need to get our cooking equipment out in the morning. Even better was the idea of providing a freezer which we used to chill our wine.
Our second time to this site and we will return whenever we plan to be in the area.

We agree with all the positive comments that have been given for this site, but none of the negatives!
Much opinion has been expressed on 'the rules' - don't be put off - if you're a normal, considerate person you won't have any problems!
We found this a superb site. The owners were helpful and friendly and not in the least oppressive as others may have suggested.
The facilities were first class - a high priority in our opinion. The croissants sold in the site shop were delicious, as was the Otter beer that we bought from there!
Our stay was enhanced by 5 days of unbroken sunshine and by the quality of the local beer at the Post Inn.
In short, totally superb. An excellent centre for exploring the area. We have every intention of visiting again (soon!).
Many thanks

Our 6th visit to Woodland Springs but our first in a tent. We opted for a hard standing as we were staying for over two weeks and did not want to damage the grass. As usual the welcome we received was great with the owners walking over to the pitch, while we were setting up, for a short chat. The amount of work that had been done since our last visit is amazing when you consider that it is all done by the owners. We have always found that the pitched were very good and we stayed on what has been referred to as 'a car park' for 5 years but they have all been improved by the use of a white stone effect which has greatly refused the dust.
We have never ever felt that we were being spoke to like school children but then again we always try and abide by the rules of any site we stay at which some people seem to have trouble doing.
Will we continue to use the site, of course we would not dream of staying anywhere else in Devon.
