Just returned from a lovely weekend spent at Scratby Hall. The tent field is looked after very well. We were in a corner under the trees and we had plenty of space. The site was nice and quiet. The toilet block was always clean and not busy. It was just the two of as and the dog, but if you came with children they would enjoy it as there is a nice pool and a playground. The shop is well stocked, just round the corner there is a fresh fish shop which we enjoyed. A little further on there is another shop and down the road to the beach there is a nice chippy and a cafe( lovely cream teas). You can easily get to the beach only a 10 minute walk. Lovely friendly staff would go back again and recommend it.

Just spent 14 nights on this family friendly site, arrived on the Saturday afternoon following torrential downpours the night before expecting the ground to be saturated, however it was well drained. Was met at reception by a friendly member of staff and directed to our pitch which was sheltered by trees. There are good facilities on the site with a well stocked shop for essentials and ice creams for the kids. Never found an issue with having to use a key for the toilets/showers, as a lot of site we have used employ this method of keeping them secure.
The site has an outdoor pool and kept our 10 year old daughter happy throughout the stay as did the play area. Scratby village is approximately 15 mins steady walk away, where there is the local beach and small amusement arcade.
Dog walking facilities are located outside the site around local byways within the surrounding fields.
The site is ideally placed for touring the coast and Norfolk Broads which in our case was hampered by car trouble but this did not detract from our holiday as we were able to relax and unwind amongst other friendly families (some who have been visiting this site for over 20 years). We booked for 2016 prior to leaving to ensure we did not miss out.

I have just had a wonderful stay here with my family - 11 of us and a dog. I swam every day in the pool and was pleased to see that safety rules were adhered to and a supervisor always present. Young children were checked to ensure they had adult supervision and could swim. The site was very well kept, and even after 17hours non-stop rain was well drained!
The toilets and washing facilities were always clean and seem to have been checked regularly. The showers are free and the temperature was comfortable. Judging by the amount of time the children spent in the playground I imagine it is satisfactory. Separate area with hot water to prepare food and wash dishes - never had to wait to use these or showers.
The shops was well stocked. And the staff very friendly and helpful. Silence after 11pm was requested. I would definitely go here again

On arrival we were met with a reassuring smile after a 2 hour drive. Promptly booked in and shown pitch, toilet block etc. Looked clean and tidy, toilets I felt were very clean as were showers. Very hand shop on site. A large superstore in Caister 3 minute drive from camp. Overall a very nice we'll run site.
Only one negative being the key for toilet block.

Just spent a wonderful relaxing week at Scratby Hall and had a wonderful time. The park itself is impeccably clean and The owner was so helpful. We had a choice of pitches as there were only 2 other campers when we arrived we chose pitch 16 which backed onto farmland however pitches opposite us seemed to get the sun most of the day and evening which would have been better for BBQs so next time we stay we will definitely pick one of those. Our 2 dogs were made most welcome and there are plenty of walks to keep them occupied. The gate in the corner of the field gives you access to miles of walks. Showers were spotless and the grounds itself were constantly being mowed and strinmed. The park is a credit to the owners and we will definitely be costing again. Sad to go home! Only downside was that the shop and laundrette didn't open until the day we left but it didn't dampen our time away at all

Just had 4 nights here. Midweek. Very clean, tidy, quiet. No shop. Only rubbish bins at the top of site. A fair walk. Wet grass cuttings everywhere, in the awning and van. I thought £21 a night a little expensive for this late in the year. Toilets clean, and ok. Site flat, and easy to get to from main road. Fish and chips in Scratby, and chinese just a mile down the road. Yarmouth traffic was busy. Best to turn down past the racecourse and drive along the front into town.

Just returned from scratby hall and after reading the previous reviews i was a little disappointed. On arrival at the site we booked in and were directed to our pitch only about 15 yards from the reception and entrance, no problem there, we were told to centre our trailer on a post and that was our pitch, but no one it seems had told our neighbours, when our tent was put up, their windbreak was only 4 feet away from us, not only could we hear them, but we could also hear their foul language. And as the grandparents of a 6 year old with speech and learning difficulties, it made it even worse, we didn, t want her learning unwanted new words, not the sites fault, but it does show that the pitches are very small.
The site is kept very clean and tidy by a manager who never stops, like a duracell bunny, she was always busy litter picking or grass cutting, and and always managed to smile and say hello. The site shop was open 8am until 8pm when we arrived, but after the bank holiday the times were changed to only 8. 30 am til 10 am and 2 pm til 4 pm and while the prices were reasonable it did seem to be a drastic change in opening times.
The toilet block was clean and tidy and with 6 toilets and 6 showers there was no waiting, but the showers were on a press button system and the cubicles very small, there was no soap dish or shelf to put any shower gel, and only 2 hooks to hang your clothes on, there was nowhere to keep clothes dry, for me these were the kind of facilities that we found 15 years ago. Things have moved on, people now want cubicles with hand basins, and showers with seats and somewhere to keep clothes dry when we get showered. The biggest problem i had with the toilet block was that it was cleaned every day at 5 am and the cleaner made no attempt to be quiet when he was moving around, dragging his mop bucket and slamming the van doors. The bucket sounded like someone dragging an aquaroll up and down, not what i want to hear at 5 o clock in the morning. The washing up area was indoors with 4 sinks plus 2 for food preperation, clean and tidy, but the water was only warm at the busy times.
The playground was small and well used and my granddaughter really liked it, i cant say more than that.
Although this review is not too good, the site is clean, quiet and tidy, and is well run, my review is a little harsh but the were the things that spoiled it for me, other wise it would be a good site, but i wont be going back. Only 5 minutes away is the east coast restaurant, we used it twice in 3 days, the meals were excellent, reasonably priced and everything was fresh, not frozen. Try it you wont be disappointed

Enjoyed our week on this well maintained site. Reception friendly and available all the time and shop open from 8 until 8 (very reasonably priced and friendly staff).
Amazing to watch hundreds of jackdaws arrive each evening
And settle in the trees at the end of the site.
Kids play area was in its own enclosed area which worried me as a mum of 2 small kids. Pool looked great but it was to cold to use it when we visited.
Didn't understand why a key was needed to access the toilet blocks. Was a nuisance to have to remember to take the key and sometimes we forgot and had to walk back to get it. The toilet block was modern (only saw the ladies) and was clean but was too spidery for me. Cleaning did not extend to knocking spiders or moths down. Some cobwebs had clearly been there some time. Would have like to have seen soap dispensers and not hand soap.
Dogs were frequently walked on site despite the easy access to surrounding footpaths. This resulted in dogs mess being more noticeable than on other sites I have stayed at.
Would have given 9 out of 10 if it were not for these points.

Our children (10, 11, 12 & 13) loved it so much last year that they wanted to come back this year. We really love this site, very clean and the pool is a bonus. Children feel safe and the shop is very reasonable.
The site is very well maintained and a great place for families.
We have booked again for next year.

This was our first family camping adventure and we had a really lovely time here.
The site is extremely child friendly and feels very safe for your children to roam about. There is a small play area ideal for smaller children, although not much for t he older ones, not a problem for us.
The whole site was very neat and tidy and there was plenty of space for our giant tent. Everything was in very close distance without being too noisy.
The pool was clean and manned by a lifeguard, excellent touch, water seemed lovely and warm too.
Shop had everything you needed and you are able to freeze your ice packs for 25p each and charge mobiles for 50p a time, seemed reasonable to me.
Although this site does not allow campfires they do allow bbqs, I could not find this information before our arrival but was happy to be able to use our disposable one on some bricks they provided after finding out.
My only negative and it did not effect my stay was the toilets although cleaned daily could do with a thorough going over, there were several cobwebs in the windows and on the windowsills that had clearly been there a time and some very hairy plug holes in the sinks. However showers were clean and hot and a handy feature for me personally having smaller children is the shower hose does come down which makes it a lot easier trying to clean a child who won't stand directly under a shower.
Would definitely return here in the future but now I've got the camping bug am keen to explore other areas also.
Thank you Scratby hall!
