My partner and I visited this site last weekend with our 8yr old son having read the reviews and were not disappointed.
The pitches were clearly marked out and we had lots of space and a picnic table (which was great as we couldn't fit our table in the car!).
The toilet/shower blocks are clean, the water hot. The fridge freezer and microwave are useful and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rules are quite strict with regard to children in pitch time (10pm) and noise levels.
It was a lovely quiet site. but I was filled with trepidation as we approached the site and saw not too far off a wind farm! And boy was it windy! During one of our nights it rained buckets and the wind blew the tent so flat I knew what it was like to be shrink-wrapped! We survived, the pegs held and the ground didn't get water logged.
I would definitely recommend this site for all its qualities and proximity to shops, beaches, nature reserves and attractions.

Very pleased with this site, clean with friendly helpful staff. All the pitches are round the edges of the field so it doesn't feel cramped even when full, the ground is hard though so plenty of rock pegs are recommended.
The fields seemed flat and level all over so good for pitching.
The area is prone to wind but the site is sheltered with high earth mounds or trees, despite high wind (40mph gusts) this weekend I didn't see a single tent get damaged, probably due as much to the firm ground holding pegs in well as the windbreaks.
We'll be visiting again.

Lydd is very flat, so there's no real shelter from the wind. The location is nice (2 miles from New Romney) and the facilities are excellent.
There's a nice butchers and green grocer in New Romney, as well as a sainsbury's (open 'til 8pm). The best beach (lydd on sea) is a few miles away with lovely sand.
There is a fridge-freezer on site and even a microwave for those that way inclined!
As mentioned before, the wind really gets into this place. Some mounds have been shaped around the campsite, but don't offer too much protection.
Not bad for kids (nothing on site, but sea side amd miniature railway close by).
I recommend it, but suggest checking how windy it's going to be first!

Have just returned from a 4 day stay at this site with 3 other families. We had a splendid time.
The site is flat with tall tree around the edges, the pitches were also around the edges and this left a lot of sap on our tent when we packed down. Despite feeling like its open to the elements it is sheltered and it needs to be with the winds coming through.
Showers are a little basic and not enough washing up sinks when the site is full. We often had to wait around for someone to finish.
We will be coming back as its idle for a weekend get a way.
Great beach at Camber sands too.

We had a great time at this campsite - the arrangement of the pitches around the perimeter of a large field worked really well. Children could play safely in the center space, while we sat back and watched the sun set with a glass of wine in hand, chatting to the neighbours. The facilities were clean and the breakfast cafe was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend the location as a good base to explore the area. The only downside was the amount of traffic at night, due to workers at Lydd airport and Dungeness. Also the onshore breeze was strong at times. But apart from these minor issues, the campsite was great - we booked 3 nights, and ended up staying for 5!

Spent 3 nights here over the easter weekend, 2 adults and 3 kids in our 8 berth tent with EHU. Everyone we came into contact with from booking over the phone, to check in out out were friendly and welcoming! Pitches we allocated with timber posts to outline your pitch, very spacious and laid out around the edge of field so kids could run and play in centre. Non ehu field didn't have the posts but pitches were still allocated around edge of field and looked spacious. Ground was flat, did have a few problems with rocks and stones so literally couldn't get a few off our pegs in the ground, but not a major problem.
Well lit and clean shower, toilet and washing up sinks. Girls and boys, 2 toilets and two showers in the timber block for each sex and when it got busy they opened another shower and 2 toilets in the barn so never had to queue. Water was always warm, push button style shower, only annoying thing was the water didn't run for very long and had fixed shower heads so was a bit of nightmare trying to rinse my daughters hair and had to lift the 2 little ones up so I could do so and then keep pushing the button, but that was just my personal experience and they were always clean, warm and free!
Fridge and freezer available and a great cafe on site.
Close to some fab beach's, and the Romney marshes for pleasant walks. There was some road noise at night, but nothing that bothered us, the birds were louder! lol Only thing they could do with is maybe a few swings for kids to play on, as my girls did get bored sometimes. Overall though a lovely clean and friendly site, great value for money and would highly recommend to anyone, will be going back!

Nice clean site. Clean and hot showers that are cleaned every morning. Quiet site and flat. Bit windy on our stay, But still recommend the site if you are in the area.
Really great Fish n chip pub just up the road only 10 minutes from beach ( by car ).
Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Steam Railway worth a visit.
Worth mentioning that there are no stringent rules on site and everyone respected each others space.
Pitches are generous in size, Plenty of room for Caravan, awning and BBQ.
Dog friendly too, with a couple of walks close by.

Just returned from our first visit to Romney Farm in a small group of vans and tents. It was a lovely site, well looked after and spotlessly clean. The loos and showers are clean and tidy with no queues even on a B/H. I did see in a review that there is no chemical waste here, but there most certainly is! All the staff are friendly. The pitches are a reasonable size, each marked by fence boundaries, and the EHU field is protected with trees - it can be a bit windy. There was live music on Saturday which was nice when we were preparing the BBQ and having a glass of wine. There are fab dog walks straight from site, and a lovely clean cafe in which we had a great breakfast on Monday.
We hadn't visited the area before except for Camber Sands many moons ago) and had a good explore around the villages etc. Rye had a fun raft race on Saturday, which we all enjoyed. We ate in the Star Inn, St. Mary's-in-the-Marsh, and unfortunately I had probably the worst meal I have ever had (Chicken, Bacon and Leek Pudding) although friends said their chilli and fish & chips were ok. There is a Sainsbury's a few mins drive away, as well as newsagents, Mace etc in New Romney and Lydd. We will be going back.

Second visit for me but first time for the wife who is new to camping.
Had a wonderful w/end and will definitely return.Staff were very friendly and helpful and escorted us to our pitch.
The site was spotlessly clean and we found the facilities perfectly adequate,we never had to wait to use the showers etc which has got to be a first.
The site is split into two halfs with electric hookups/hard standings in the first which leads into the second, a lovely open area with high banking surrounding it to offer some protection from the stiff breeze which invariably blows in this part of the world.Generous size pitches and excellent play area in the center if you need to keep an eye on the kids.A very short walk to the shower block with adequate lighting along the way. There is a small cafe on site and microwave and fridge/freezer available at no extra cost, gas is also sold on site.
New Romney and Lydd for those requiring Pubs,Shops etc are a short drive away.A great sandy beach with very safe bathing at Camber Sands app 8 miles and the historical town of Rye a bit further out.
We stayed from the Friday to Sunday and had no problem with noisy guests even though the site was full.I would not hesitate to recommend this site, especially to first timers.

Lovely friendly welcome when we arrived. We got there early but as soon as the pitch was free we were shown to our pitch and where everything was.
There are 2 fields and both tidy and well looked after.
Ice creams on sale in reception which pleased the kids, also information on the local area. Also Cafe on site and menu looked lovely with breakfasts and meals. We would have used it but shut Mon/Tues.
Toilets and showers clean and usable. Warm water when needed and we showed at different times of the day.
Fridge/freezer and microwave for everyones use in a hut which was handy for us as we were first time campers and coolbox wasn't big enough.
Had no problem with noise other than usual for a family campsite. Lots of space for the kids to play and run about.
Couldn't fault it at all and despite the weather would love to return soon.
