Lovely. Set in woodland. Pitches are well spaced and sheltered by trees. Shower block was very basic and small but the site made up for it. Plenty to do, walking and three different play grounds excellent for kids. Cafe on site too.
Snakes and ladders playground and a walk around the lake was a daily event.

Although the park facilities are now looking a little dated and well used this is outweighed by the delightful forested environment. Great to be able to walk, at sunset, through the woods in the company of wild deer. The peaceful walk around the large lake is also a must. Also the individual plots are generally large enough and well enough spaced to not encroach on the 'wild' environment & the feeling of being in the woods. The peacock calls at 5am startle at first! Would go back again.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in our tent with our 4 children and a dog and I have to say camping in the woodland with deer strolling close by was very tranquil. The camping is a bit pricey at 16.00 pound per night for a pitch (without electric) and then the extra cost of 2.50 per child per night oh and 1.00 per night for the dog! but this does include access into the park. The non-electric pitches for tents are sheltered by trees but can become quite cramped when busy. The ladies showers are limited with only 3 (only 2 working when we were there) push button which you have to keep your hand on which can be difficult especially for children, other than that they were kept clean. Having stayed here before we were aware of the drinking water problem, they state you MUST boil the water before drinking it so make sure you take plenty of bottled water. There is no camp shop so you have to travel for your provisions. The children had plenty to do and had great fun which makes for the perfect break for us mum's & dad's. Although I cannot see us returning as we are a large family it is rather expensive.

Overall a really good site for a few nights, although other occupants said that when the site was fully booked the tent area was quite cramped with no space for kids to play. We camped when there were only a handful of tents and had a fantastic time. It is a forest site and therefore little in the way of grass so be prepared, but thankfully shady in the hot sunshine. Facilities for washing up/toilets/showers, excellent! Great to be located next to a large country park with attractions to suit younger children up to the age of 10 - train rides, sand pit, adventure playground, crazy golf. The only disappointment was that being attached to the country park there was little in the way of camping shop facilities/drinkable water, and when the park was closed there was nothing available for the campsite. All the customer attention seemed to be directed to the day visitors to the park rather than those camping.

Went here just for one night (we were trying out camping with our 6 month old who has never been and our 2.5 yr old who loves camping). Most pitches had mains hook up, but we pitched in a small section without. The pitches didn't seem too close together (although the few round us were empty so this could be deceptive), and they were staggered with trees in between which gave some privacy.
The toilets, showers and washing are up were very clean (considering there is only 1 for the whole of the campsite - about 80 pitches) and neither my husband or I had to que to use them. There are also plenty of taps around (ours was out of order but we didn't have to walk too far for another).
Included with your camping fee you got entrance into the counrty park (this works out cheaper as we paid £15 per pitch per night and entrance to park is £5 per adult and £4 per child over 3), which is great for children as there are loads of play areas, a boating lake, a trail, a train and 4 walks.
The down sides to this place are that you spend about 1/2 hour clearing your pitch of pine cones before you are able to even put your tent up, and all the pitches are shady, so people who like the sun may struggle here. There also some pitches very very close to the toilets/washing up area so lots of traffic at all times going past which I can imagine would be noisy.
Definately a site we would go back to and recommend for a short break.

Fantastic country side and great park, the kids loved in and it did feel so safe. Toilet block could be better, push button showers that only stay on for 2 seconds is a nightmare! Also 20p for the hairdryer - who takes their purse with them to have a shower? Only 3 sinks for washing face, cleaning teeth etc so I can imagine there is a bit of a clue high season. Also do note that all water has to be boiled before drinking so do fill your water carrier up at home if you can! This site really does take camping back to basics and is great if you are prepared for that!

Nice location adjoining a great family-orientated park with plenty to do, including fishing, adventure playground, boating, miniature steam train and great walks. Check-in was quick and staff friendly. Various pitches for tents (non-electric), caravans and campervans (electric) and some secluded pitches. The grass pitch was a bit of a let down as the so called grass pitches were in fact forest floor, no grass. The tent pitches are nicely set amongst trees but as such, no grass could grow there. Take a good airbed and some strong tent pegs. Water standpipes nearby but notices to boil the water first. The showers and toilet block were OK but could do with a deep clean, especially around the roof area which had unnecessary dust and cob / spider webs. The outdoor sinks were great for cleaning the cooking utensils. Also a small lauderette but didn't use this facility. Although there is a cafe in the park should you get caught short of provisions, there is no campsite grocery store which would have been a bonus for essentials .a great opportunity missed. Very quiet site and extremely pleasant surrounds. Great for a weekend break but no long stays.

This was our first time camping, so perhaps I haven't got much to compare Wellington Country park with! We really had a great time and were quite impressed with the facilities. The pitch we were given was surrounded on two sides by trees and, although very hard, was quite comfortable - and plenty big enough.
The showers were relatively clean, although the push button system is incredibly irritating! Water was warm, but not hot. Washing up facilities were OK, but no plug. Freezer pack refreezing was a hassle as you had to go all the way to reception to do so, and could only do it between 10 and 5. They looked like we'd lost the plot when we asked them to refreeze our packs - does no-one else use them?
Site was a little noisy after 11pm, but mainly due to noisy party near us. Park's great - not worth £18 to get in, but our 4 yr old loved it. Would def revisit, although looking forward to trying other places.

Our 2nd visit to this site and what a lovely place to stay. The site is what could be described as honest, no frills, but tidy and with clean showers/toilets and a wonderful camping area that borders a deer park. Kids will love it as it is safe and has a great play area relatively close with a further play park/slides a short walk away. The only slight negative is "camping shop" situated within the welcome centre. There was nothing there with campers having to ask at the check-in desk for things like bread and milk? - That said, the Welcome Centre is a nice place to go for a coffee and snack when its wet, as it was when we went.

This was our third visit to Wellington. The park provides an excellent environment to relax in. The kids love going off to explore and have enjoyed each visit in different ways. The plots are spacious with open areas that are perfect for the favourite campsite games. The washing facilities could be improved but just about adequate. There isn't really any dining facilities and so the choices are cooking or visiting the pubs a short drive away (all of which have been very nice). The campsite is expensive but it is worth it especially given the usual entry prices to the park. Its easy access from London off the M3 and M4 make it good to get to.
