Just returned from Court Farm and All the reviews were spot on

Bill and gang are friendly helpful and always have time for a chat, the site has been hit by the weather but the Toilets Showers etc were clean all week and piping hot showers were very welcome,

Site lovely and quiet and a perfect base to explore Cornwall,

Lots of helpful hints on where to go and what to see, 2 nice pubs in the village 'the Queens Head' sells Cornish Rattler cider.Well Worth A taste but as Bill Says it does creep up on you, Also A pub not listed is the White Pyramid on the St Austell Road About 5 mins drive away, nice beer and food excellent with huge portions and kids play area, we ate there twice and were not disappointed try 'the Pyramid Chicken'.Bloody gorgeous .

We went to Newquay zoo, Flambards, Eden Project (bills way in shows stunning scenery)all worth a visit, but Dairy land is expensive and costs more than the entrance fee. Go at the beginning of your stay to the Eden Project as if you gift Aid your entrance fee you get free admission for a year so you can go again during your stay for free.

We Also went to Lusty Glaze beach which is a mile or so through Newquay what a beach everything you need and more, £5 parking fee for all day steep walk down but worth it,

Back to the site and the star gazing on a Tuesday is a must, and my son was impressed by seeing Jupiter as the light pollution is nil as solar lighting is used,

Sat with a glass of wine or a bottle of Cornish Rattler watching Buzzards high in the sky and watching the world go by is heaven, roll on next year wellies or not

Bill your a true gent, keep a pint for me for next year. We will be back

We chose this site after reading the many reviews and we were not disappointed.

The site is peaceful and in a beautiful location with gently rolling hills and views over the village of St. Stephen.

We were on a slight slope at the top of the hill which we were really glad about because the weather in Cornwall was dreadful! Some of the campers at the bottom had to be moved when water ran off the field into their tents.

The toilet and shower block was spotless. The shower cubicles were huge, there was plenty of free hot water and we didn't have to queue once.

There is a washing machine available on site and the use of a fridge and freezer if you don't have the facilities yourself.

Upon arrival, you get a very friendly welcome. Bill is lovely. He really can't do enough to help people. His tip for a beautiful beach (Caerhays) was spot on.

We also had a fascinating evening star gazing with Brian Sheen. He is the font of all astronomical knowledge. Our family was amazed by a brilliantly clear view of Jupiter (you could even make out the colour bands) and three of it's moons.

The most disappointing thing for us was the weather (which sadly Bill is not in control of!). The sheer amount of rain (10 days out of 12) meant that the track through the site became a muddy quagmire! Bill worked really hard laying rubble on it to try to improve things.

In conclusion, if you want a quiet site with no loud clubhouse but with great shower facilities; if you like pretty views and friendly owners; If you want to be in a good, central location in Cornwall; then this is the site for you. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. (Despite the weather!)

This is one hard working campsite owner 'Bill and family' A wonderfully spacious site. With a good clean toilet and washing up set up.

Comments made by other campers complaining about muddy floors at the time we feel were unfair.

Walk over a muddy field in wellies onto a clean floor what happens? Bill and his family did the best they could under the circumstances.

What you can't change is the weather! At times the access road resembled either the Somme or Pascendale! Mud, mud, not so glorious mud.

Over the week Bill worked tirelessly to keep things going, moving at least one tent on his trailer to a drier spot. Towing stranded cars and laying at least two lorry loads of hardcore. Thats some commitment!

This is one holiday we will remember. And yes we will go back some time!

Local village of St Stephens is a short walk away with small Co-op shop, two pubs and 3 car showrooms.

Care needs to be taken perhaps with small children as there are no pavements in places.

Fish and chips at Foxhole worth a visit but check opening hours.

PS The three legged dog is alive and well.

I must defend this written by another member.

'Not good for a family site. '

I took my two young kids there last year and I thought it was fantastic for families. The big area in the middle of the site is just ideal for kids playing and virtually all the kids on the site ended up playing with each other, some good friendships formed by all and they had a fantastic time. All the parents simply sat outside the tents reading or having a drink and the kids played in the middle, totally safe.

I asked Bill why he doesn't allow more tents in the grass in the middle (he could make a fortune if he did) and he says he loves the families beeing able to relax and watch the kids playing in the middle which is why most come back and good on him for doing that not thinking about profit and thinking more of his campers.

The kids could even go to the loo's and showers on their own too which they loved.

Overall a very friendly mob there and one of the best family sites I have been to by far.

I am looking at going back soon as I will be touring the area on my motorbike so will be looking at this place first. :)

Second visit to this wonderful site, exactly as before and no complaints. Wonderful warm welcome and Bill as usual was very helpful, giving us a short cut to a lovely and relatively deserted beach. Tried the fishing but my bait was past its sell by date and only had a couple of smalluns, but I will be back with fresh bait as I know there are some reasonable fish cruising just below the surface, could be carp.

Keep a spot for us Bill, see you soon.

Court Farm is a lovely site positioned in a part of Cornwall that gives great access to many of the attractions of the area.

The site has all the amenities you would need - good hot showers within clean toilet blocks, good area for washing up and fridges, freezers and laundry facilities.

If you are stuck for things to do there is a lovely fishing lake and Bill has guides to many local walks, also there is an observatory with stargazing sessions from time to time!

St Stephens village is a short walk away where there are a couple of pubs and a small supermarket. Bill and his family are very helpful and friendly, on our first night there Simon and Bill even gave us a lift back from the pub in St Stephens - not arranged, they saw us walking home, recognised us from the site and pulled over.

All in all, Court Farm is a great site. We will be back.

I chose this site after reading all the positive reviews by other campers. When I arrived at the site however my initial reaction was one of disappointment. I don't know why, but the site didn't seem as portrayed on the Court Farm website.

We were met by Bill Truscott who at 6' 8' certainly stands out. We were also met by the three legged dog (more later)

Bill was very friendly and offered all sorts of advice on routes, sight seeing trips, and good pubs etc.

Set up the tent on a flat, well grassed/drained area with EHU.

Went off to examine the rest of the site. Nice shower/toilet block that also contained the washing up sinks, laundry area and campers fridge freezers. Showers are free and hot water abounds.

Got into holiday 'mode' and found it hard not to relax at the site which was very, very quiet with the odd sheep baahing and a few birds chirping away.

Bill recommended a couple of pubs nearby. 'We' tried the White Pyramid on the road into St Austell. Good God the meals were HUGE and I mean HUGE well worth a visit but starve yourself all day before going in.

Seems that the three legged dogs only daily activity is to deposit small piles of pooh about the site and access roads.

Not good for a family site.

Despite the damn dog I would have no hesitation in returning to this site. Bill makes the place tick.

Our very first camping trip was to court farm, firstly the site is very well situated for most of the sites/attractions that Cornwall has to offer. On arrival bill took us to a choice of 2 pitches with ehu we chose no 18 which did us proud due to the extreme weather that we had, torrential rain and some strong winds.
The site is basic but just what we wanted, the toilet/shower blocks looked very new and kept very clean with loads of hot water. The washing-up area was clean with the use of fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer.
The site being on a working farm is situated in a beautiful location with fields all around and a nice view over to st stephens church. Plenty of info regarding things to do and see with a welcome pack and some of bills personal tours of Cornwall on offer.
Nearby you have pubs and co-op to walk to and an asda and tesco in st austell approx 6 miles away. Overall apart from the bad weather we would recommend this site and will be back. A nice quiet site run by very nice helpful people, well done.

What a fantastic camp-site. We have just returned from a most enjoyable holiday. The campsite itself is within easy access of local attractions. We particularly enjoyed the Eden project (so much we went twice!), which is a mere 6 miles from this site.

The site itself is in a quiet location, you can hear some traffic noise if you camp at the top of the field, but it's not enough to disturb you (day or night). The facilities are good, lots of hot water for showers (which are free) and ample facilities for washing up. We found the use of a fridge and freezer very helpful. However, what sets this site apart from most, is the wonderful owners. The showers were always spotless (despite the rain) and the bins were emptied regularly and never overflowing. We were unfortunate enough to have strong winds the last two days of our stay, and came back to the site after a day of exploring to find our tent may have taken off if it weren't for Bill who'd very kindly re-pegged for us (thanks Bill!). Bill's local knowledge is brilliant and he, along with Ann and Simon, are able to point you in the direction you need.

We found the two pubs closest to the site were friendly, although the walk to both these pubs is short, there is no path for much of the distance so may be unsuitable for families with children, as a couple we didn't find it a problem. Bill's recommendation for good food was spot on (the Hewas Inn!).

We will be staying again!

This is a truly wonderful site, both for the initial welcome by the three legged dog, and for the following welcome by Bill and family.

There is nothing to fault it for, it is quiet and relaxed at this time of the year and I would think that it is only slightly less so when the school holidays are in full swing.

The local pubs are well withing walking distance, as is the shop and chinese take-away.

The main road is nearby with easy access to the A30, but you would never guess, as there is very little traffic noise, and virtually none at night.

The facilities are pretty much everything you could wish for, lashings of hot water at the washing up sinks and clean toilets and showers. I would think that you may have to wait occasionaly for a shower in high season, but there has to be a balance between what is ideal and what is practical. I think they have got it just right.

I can't wait to go back, to sit round the BBQ with a glass of something cool and watch the buzzards lazily circling overhead as the sun slowly curves across the sky!

Keep me a nice spot Bill!
