One of the best sites I have visited. The owner, Bill, is friendly and helpful. A welcome pack is included with recommended tours. The facilities are superb. Good clean showers with plently of hot water, laundry and washing up facilities excellent. Our bins were emptied daily. There are two pubs and a Co-Op within walking distance. Although we camped right by the road there was very little traffic on it. We will definitely visit again.

I think I have found the perfect camp site and this is it.

If you want on-site bars and swimming pools then this is not the site for you, but for those that don't it is ideal. I'll try not to repeat what others have said, but a big plus is plenty of space. There was no trouble accomodating our Diablo 600 and no 'large tent' fee. Water comes from the farm's own borehole so is very pure and tastes fantastic.

During our week there our 9-year-old was able to attend a tree-climbing party and there are regular informal astronomy talks followed by the opportunity to to have a go with a telescope yourself. (note there is an extra charge for these activities). Another night the local fire brigade came on site and squirted the kids with water, they had a great time and no charge at all for this.

I note comments in other reviews that the site should be better lit. I guess with the astronomy they want to avoid light pollution, roads and gateways are marked with solar lights. Just take a torch!

Staff very friendly and helpful.

Plenty to do locally but we travelled further afield by rail from St Austell to spend a day in St Ives.

What can I say that has not been said this is a GEM of a site.

Great people every friendily, both Bill and Simon ready to help with any problems you have or are ready to answer any questions. The welcome pack is very usefull with a short list of what is what and what is where in Cornwall ,well worth the read .But this is a great site in which to stay if you are exploreing Cornwall for the first time such as me and my family did. Like with the Eden project just down the road in st Austell bill knows a short cut to it.

The pitches are large with us putting our tent up as well as our kitchen tent and still room to park the car next door.

There is a great space in the middle of the site for the children and adults to run around in.

Great facilitys with a fridge and freezer on site. The freezer is a small chest model but still very usefull.

Clean toilets and shower block with plenty of hot water for showers.

About a 4 min drive or a 20 min walk to st stepens, camp site is on the out skirts of the village, there are 2 great pubs and a co-op that is open to 10pm every day or a short drive into st Austell for asda

All in all this is a truley a great site and we will be going back roll on next summer!

What a gem of a site! Set just outside a small village that has a co-op for all your basic needs,(open'till 10pm every night)two good friendly pubs and lots of friendly people!
Bill and Simon who run the site on their working farm, are never too busy to offer advice on where to go, where to eat and how to avoid the traffic chaos on main roads leading to all the main tourist places.

Just returned from Court Farm after a lovely 2 weeks holiday.
The site was well looked after with generous pitches although some were sloping. Ours being one of them which didn't help much when it was wet. Thankfully this only happened when we arrived and the day after, then it was dry but could be a problem if the weather is bad.

All the caravans tents etc were situated around a large field.
The center of the field is used for the children to play games in, which seems to suit everyone and the parents can always keep an eye on the children which is good.
The showers were excellent very spacious and hot, loads of hanging space for clothes towels etc and I didn't struggle showering myself and the children in them. There were five altogether and the last one had two shower heads in, which was a great idea when showering two at a time.
The mens also had five showers and one with 2 showers so the kids can also go with dad. The toilets were kept clean and tidy, always plenty of toilet roll and soap. There is also a dishwashing area and a iron and ironing board, washing machine and dryer all for a small charge.

Bill the owner is always around should you have any problems with anything and will always give directions and help should you want to visit anywhere. The site is also extremley quiet after about ten at night so its very peaceful and extremley dark. Which brings me to my only negative about the site and that is the lighting, if you are walking to the toilets at night then it isn't very well lit so could definitely do with better lighting. Dont forget your torch.

The main village is St Stephen and is lovely. 2 pubs a launderette a chippy also a co-op which sells hot cornish pasties in the morning and so much cheaper than the pastie shops. We found the site to be well situated for sight seeing. Newquay, Padstow, Mevagissey to name a few are all easy to reach with a car although the buses seem quite regular. All in all a very good site and definitely worth a visit

I can only reiterate the positives already given about this site. The owners are helpful, welcoming and friendly, the site is a quiet, well run efficient family site with beautiful views of the countryside to welcome you both morning and night. The facilities are bright, clean, adequate and excellent (I believe this year saw an extension to the shower and toilet blocks): free hot water for pot washing and showers, free fridge and freezer space.  Bill's welcome pack provides extremely useful information about amenities and sight seeing.  There is lots of space here, with large pitches (we were in our 9 berth Diablo) plus car and trailer and did not feel hemmed in at all, especially as we were able to pitch looking straight out onto rolling green hills and open skies!  Court Farm is well situated for sight seeing.  We stayed for 10 nights and were extremely comfortable.  Although there is no on site shop, there is a local shop in the village (hidden from the main road so ask Bill!) and within a few miles is a 24 hour Tesco (even nearer an Asda - both large with plenty of parking!)  We as a family enjoyed our stay and would go to Court Farm again.  Would recommend!

An excellent campsite! Owners  friendly and helpful, we phoned on a Saturday evening and were asked if they could contact us first thing next day, which they did.Very good directions to site sent by e-mail, we liked their sense of humour!
Nice friendly reception, we were able to choose from four level  pitches for our 3 night mid-week stay in our two man tent.
The facilities are the nicest we've ever found, spotlessly clean showers and toilets (and enough of them)use of freezer and fridge all included in the price ( £37.50 for the 3 nights). We used the site specifically to visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan but it was very handy for other places e.G. National Trust Properties in the area, and the picturesque fishing villages of Fowey and Mevagissey
The site is lovely for families, plenty of space for everyone, so we, as an older couple looking for a quiet few days away, weren't disturbed by  children enjoying themselves!,We would recomend this site to any one who wants  to avoid the larger noisier sites

Stayed here in a tent ,as an adult party. I have to say that all of the reviews are spot on! What a great site. It was peaceful, clean, massive pitches, great toilet and shower facilities and the owners could not do enough for you. There was even a freezer for your ice packs! It rained constantly for a week when we stayed however, we did not once have a problem with mud or boggy areas.
The site is in easy driving distance of some great places such as Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Mevagissey. Newquay and Truro were also only about 30 minutes away.
St Austell town is also quite pleasant.
You could walk to the local pubs in St Stephen at night if you had a torch however, there were no footpaths down the country lane to the campsite and a couple of cars did drive down it like maniacs!
If I had to say something negative, which is really hard, you could hear cars when they passed at night but soon got used to them and it was a quiet road.
The welcome pack given to you on arrival is really useful and certainly makes you feel welcome.
We would recommend this site to anyone, we will definitely be going back!

This was the 3rd camp site we visited during a 2 week stay in Cornwall and we highly recommend Court Farm, particularly if you are looking for peace and quiet and plenty of space, it was by far the best site we stayed at.

Families and couples (as we were) are able to live side by side without being on top of each other.

The facilities are excellent, clean and spacious. The showers are well proportioned so that it is possible to shower and hang clothes up and keep them dry. No matter what time of day you shower, there is always hot water, something of a bonus.

Washing up and laundry facilities are provided in a covered area adjacent to the toilet//shower blocks. Tokens for the washing machine and dryer are available at the office for a small nominal fee. There is even a free power point for hairdryers etc in the laundry area.

Each pitch is well marked out and allows plenty of room for each tent. The pitches are laid out around the perimeter of well sheltered fields allowing for plenty of space in the middle for ball games etc, without noise carrying too close to other pitches. Water points are located right next to the pitches so no long walks carrying heavy water cans. The water is clean, fresh spring water, so safe to drink straight from the tap.

Simon and Bill were very welcoming and willing to answer questions, and offer advice on where to visit. A welcome pack was provided at the beginning of our stay, listing places to go and where to avoid, it proved invaluable to our first visit to Cornwall.

St Stephen a short distance away, has a small supermarket that opens at 6am and closes at 10pm daily which proved very convenient.

The local area is lovely, with north and south coasts in close proximity making Court Farm a great base for touring Cornwall.

The star gazing night is highly recommended, and a real education.

If you BBQ, you must try some of the home grown lamb, it's delicious.

We will definitely be back in 2008. Many thanks to Bill and Simon.

We took a Kyham Ridgipod Excelsior to the site with our twin girls (age 1) and their two older brothers 3 and 6 years. This was our first camping trip as a family unit and I was a little concerned that pitch size would be an issue.

I was relieved and pleasantly surprised to find a spacious campsite with very generous pitch dimensions, we didn't feel hemd in at all and had more than enough space to spread ourselves out even in high season with a large tent.

The toilet block is clean and comfortable with hot showers and washing facilities. There are washing machines and driers as well as a freezer and fridge available for freezing blocks although we found the freezer to be full to bursting all the time, so much so that we gave up trying to fit our freezer blocks in and just bought bags of ice from the local supermarket.

The site was exactly what we were looking for, a nice family orientated site that's not too noisey and very relaxing. The owners are very friendly and are more than happy to help out with any information etc you need (they also have some lovely lamb burgers and lamb steaks available for the BBQ).

There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas including the lost gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. There is also an astronomy talk on Tuesday nights (the site is also the site of the Roseland observatory), so if you have even a passing interest in the night sky and all that twinkles above us its worth spending the evening (8 til 11) taking part in the stargazing evening.

Our stay was over all too soon, so we have already booked our pitch for two weeks next year.
