This was our first visit to this site and we were not disapointed. The site was really pretty. All the staff are really friendly. Pitches are not on top of each other. Toilets and showers are really clean. There is a walk from the site to a monument at the top of the hill. Plenty of other walking tracks too. We went walked into Buxton and then walked back (pheeewww thats a walk and half - but worth it). We will return and probably more than once.

First visit to this site, it was recommended by my nephew. The pitches were well laid out plenty of space. The site was really well kept, and the wardens were really friendly, the toilet and shower block were immaculatly clean. There were plenty of beautiful walks and the town of Buxton is a lovely place. My grand daugher age 3 thoroughly enjoyed the childrens play area, and made lots of friends.

Our first visit to a Caravan Club site, and a great site for our first. The area is simply stunning, with the lovely town of Buxton nearby and the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District close by.
The pitches are large and well laid out, and we had never had the choice of any empty pitch before! we simply drove around and picked the one that suited us. Excellent hook-up, including a TV point. The toilet block was of a very high standard, and the laundry room and facilities were excellent. The reception stocks essentials, inlcuding a 25m TV lead so that we could enjoy the TV hook-up.
I would recommend the walk to Soloman's Temple, and take in the stunning views. Buxton is a lovely town, and do take the largest empty bottle you can find; the free spring water by the Tourist Information is a must.
We joined the Caravan Club hoping to enjoy some top class sites, (the ones on their adverts look stunning), and this one didn't disappoint.

This is a lovely camp site with nice friendly staff. We were situated right next to the play area, literally just a couple of strides away, it wasn't the best play area I'd ever seen but apparently it was due to be refurbished shortly after our visit. The kids also enjoyed pedalling their bikes round the site, (carefully of course) and we felt comfortable letting them do this, as all guests adhered to the speed limits in place. The showers were lovely, clean and warm too. We managed to go on a couple of walks while we were there, my memory is terrible and I can't remember the name of the building that we walked up a hill to, but this walk is virtually on your doorstep and you can see wonderful views of Buxton from up there. The only thing that was bad was the weather to be honest and I would reccomend visiting this site especially with children.

A very clean, tidy site, which is nice and quiet. Very helpful and friendly wardens. Great location for walking and sight seeing in and around Buxton. Buxton is within walking distance. Good shopping and pubs. Good clean facilities. Well laid out pitches. Thoroughly recommended for a quiet escape.

Stayed for 6 nights at very short notice due to flooding elsewhere. A lovely site that feels much smaller than it is due to pitches laid out in small groups of cul-de-sacs. Wardens happy for you to wander around and choose your own pitch. Nice play area for the kids and spotless facilities. We really enjoyed it and the kids cried when we had to come home!

I visited this site for the first time earlier this year. I will be going back again later this year. I have already booked. The site managers are brilliant and a good laugh. The walks are great and the town of Buxton is quite large and had plenty of shops. One of the shopping arcades still has the original tiling from when it used to be the baths. The site and the facilities are extremely good and the area is beautiful

Lovely site, well kept with excellent facilities. Great walking country, and the Caverns are a great attraction. Quiet surroundings, Buxton is walkable, and a very friendly town. The Pavilion Gardens are lovely for families. Will definitely be returning to this site.

We went with our friends for our very first caravan trip and had a fantastic time. We were impressed with the toilets and showers and also the setting and the childrens play area . The wardens were tremendous even when we overloaded the electrics. We will definitely go back in the summer!

Just spent the last week of this season at the site and have nothing but praise. The staff on arrival were extremely friendly and very helpful. The site was immaculate and I concur with previous comments that the toilets were indeed spotless at all times of the day. The site in fairness was very quiet during our visit which isn't suprising given the time of year. However it did pick up over the weekend but the facilities are more adequate to cope. For families the site is great if you love walking and touring. It is centrally positioned with Chatsworth, Derwent Water, Snake pass etc all within easy reach. The on-site play ground is suitable for juniors only as it has only the basics (swing & slide). Older children will soon run out of things to do so plan your activities in advance! All in all, a relaxing, friendly and clean site located in the heart of the Peak District. A definite return trip needs to be planned.
