Disappointing after all the good reviews. Chucking it down with rain which is not a problem however, the mud was. Site was fully booked so no pitch rotation and a complete mudbath. Van stuck in the mud three times and one member of the party ended up in A & E after falling over in the mud and breaking a bone. Real pity as the facilities were very good and the staff friendly. Perhaps a victim of their own success!

This is our favourite site so far. Lovely site surround by trees, very friendly and relaxed. Good, spotlessy clean facilities. Levellers needed on most of the pitches which are grass and un-marked.
Footpaths straight from site to Corfe village (about 1.5 miles), which has a castle, shops, tea rooms and several pubs (The Greyhound had lovely food and was dog friendly). From Corfe you can get a bus/or train to Swanage or Wareham.
If you like regimented, hardstanding pitches - maybe this ones not for you.

Just back from here. Sign to site hard to spot, bushes need to be cut back, lane very bumpy. Once in wardens friendly & helpful, toilet block was clean & tidy. Site overall was good, will be even better when grass gets a chance to grow on some pitches. Nice walks from site into Corfe good shops & pubs. Very good pub & food in Church Knowle. We will be going back to this site soon

One of the best sites I have been to- and I have been to a few.
Toilet block spotless- 5 beautiful and very powerful showers in the ladies. Cubicals for washing as well as separate sinks with hair dryers free of charge. Family room has walk in shower/ baby changing table and a sink and hairdryer (£5 deposit needed for key). Disabled room has walk in shower/ Bars around toilet and a sink etc.
Pitches are amongst the trees which is great as not so formal. Down side is slope- most pitches slope downhill although the site more than makes up for this in its beauty. Small playground for children amongst the trees, and basic groceries can be picked up from the reception. Wardens couldn't be any more helpful, really great service.
Nearest super market is in Wareham- about 5-6 miles away- small co-op. Corfe is lovely, really pretty- castle is a short walk down the road- well worth a visit. Studland bay is the nearest beach- 5 miles away. Beach is beautiful and clean as national trust, £4.00 for parking all day- and one of the little cafes even lets you borrow windbreakers and buckets and spades free of charge. The steam train ride from Corfe to swanage is well worth a trip- really old fashioned and fun for the kids.

We stayed from Sat to Wed of Whitsun week. As per other comments, lane very bumpy and we found the site by a fluke as not clearly signposted.
Cannot fault the site! Lovely that you are not put in regimented lines!
Toilets and showers spotless and even though the site was full we did not need to queue in either gents or ladies.
Managers are very pleasant and helpful.
Lovely walk from the site into Corfe and into next village. Ideal location for seeing Lulworth, all the fossil beaches, steam train to Swanage etc.
Only drawback for us, even though we have children, was that we were put on site next to children's playground! Playground is lovely for the children but some kiddies are better behaved than others.
We will definitely go back to this site, we had a wonderful holiday and it was so nice to camp in a small 'glade' rather than a sterile field!
Well done to the owners!

Have just returned from Corfe Castle site and had a lovely stay. I agree with comments in the previous posting re signing (needs a C&CC sign) and access to the site - very narrow and bumpy.
The proprietors are a lovely couple, very helpful and friendly.
There is a lot of work going on to terrace and grass over some level pitches but at the moment there are very few level pitches to be had, so chocs, blocks and anything else you can get your hands on will be required!
The pitches are not regimented at the moment which gives a much more relaxed appearance to the site, stick your unit in roughly the right place and pointing up, down or sideways - whichever suits.
The play area is small and perhaps a bit limited for older children.
The facilities were spotless but I imagine there will be queues for the showers in peak season.
The location is fabulous and the village is walking distance along a beautiful path from the top of the site.
Overall a small, relaxed, quiet and friendly site in a beautiful location. Would definitely come again.

We visited this site for our first trip of 2009. We have just joined the C&CC and this was our first club site.
Having read the previous reviews they confirm the site is in a very nice location.
The site was very wet, where there was flat ground there was a lot of standing water. There was no C&CC sign from road, so we initially ignored the entry as it looked like a bridle way. The site access is very narrow and the lane is very pot holed.
There are new roads being constructed around the site (not fished at time of our visit) which again are very narrow and I would expect large units to struggle.
The proprietors allowed us to park on the access road as we would otherwise have become stuck. Most of the pitches are on a slope.
They have failed to get planning permission this year for hard standing so until they do or use some other kind of grass reinforcement the site will not be very practical for motorhomes.
One other niggle was the fact that the fresh water tap was just that, very hard to get a hose on to fill a MH tank. The waste water tap and a fitting ideal to put your fresh water hose.
As some others have stated, a good toilet block but will get pushed in high season.
If you are a camper or caravanner then this site has a lot going for it.

Stayed here for h/t and despite the occasional downpour had a fantastic time. Ground a little damp underfoot, but aside from this lovely site, great walks and very friendly staff.
Good facilities, very clean (even when muddy) and loads of hot water. All in all excellent location.

Stayed at the site August Bank Holiday weekend, it had coped well with the previous weeks downpours, a couple of sites were unusable.
Owners friendly, even walking us to our pitch.
Shower and toilet block was all fairly new, and kept quite clean considering all the mud from the rain. Nice to have proper shower doors in the shower area keeping your individual changing area dry - showers were free, just had to keep pushing the button every 30 seconds or so, which wasn't a problem.
A busy site with plenty of pitches spread out amongst the trees, not many of them level though. But because the site is spread through a selection of trees you never seemed on top of other campers even though the site was full.
We were in the field near the play area and it did get noisy early and until sun down or slightly after, but as it was some of our children enjoying the rope swing and three swings plus one climbing frame, we couldn't complain!
A great location, not sign posted well though, just a brown caravan and camping sign off the C road and a long track to the campsite.
This camp site is now a Camping and Caravan club site so rules on distance between tents will help to keep this a site where you don't feel on top of your neighbours.
They have a planning application in to terrace pitches so perhaps in 2009 the site might have more level sites.
The site is now also known as Corfe Castle amping And Caravanning Club Site and had previously been known as Woodlands Camping site.

What a lovely site! We stayed here with our 3 boys aged 10,12 and 15 and they were quite happy to play in the playground and hang around with other children. The site was full but we never had to queue for showers etc and they were always clean and tidy. Friendly, helpful owners, even when a neighbouring camper asked us to move our porch 'cos it was where his children played(!) - we did but the owner said he hadn't had a problem with it. Good places to visit - Kimmeridge, Studland, Swanage, Lulworth. Will visit again.
