Poorly signposted from the road no normal sign for a C&CC site just a brown tourist sign (only noticeable from Corfe) up a long single track therefore could easily be missed.

We were pitched on the upper level near the dog walk however this was up hill from the water point at the bottom - which may cause problems for some also it was some way to the facilities (toilets/showers/bins etc)

The facilities where to Club Site standards however as said was at the opposite end of the site it may be prudent in investing in another perhaps smaller block at the top end of the site and also a water point to upper level to provide easier access if feasible.

The staff were friendly and the site boasts a good information office.

You can walk directly into Corfe via the adjacent dog walk/exit (20 mins walk) where you are able to catch buses to Poole/Bournmouth which is worth a trip for the day.

The nearest supermarket is in Swanage although Corfe does have a small convenience store and pubs for food (quite expensive though)

Overall a nice site

We booked two nights with view to staying four over the phone, we were told on arrival two extra which was expressed prior to arrival would be a problem, but however they said they would see what they could do, and come back to us. And guess what they never did come back to us.

Access to site is ok little rough as stated in reviews, but no real problem take it slow and its ok, site entrance can be busy as if some one is parked up to book in it completely blocks access to the site so be prepared for a wait!, some people have no patience! here.

We found majority of fellow campers not so sociable a reply to good morning is hard work.

we were lucky with our pitch as it was dead level on hard standing but most are on grass and on a slope, and will be tricky to level up unless you have levelling blocks don't use your legs like some where as you will damage your unit.

We had two dogs as pre booked and stuck next to a camper with a cat! on a lead! now we all no most dogs and cats don't! get on! don't we!.

I've never seen some one with a cat on a length off string in a camp site!, its weird! if you ask me, but then some people are.

My dogs which are as good as gold and never a problem kept a eye on the ginger tom! and guess what the rude women told me off!. She shouted from the top of her voice! in the very peaceful site, now!, as I'm a placid person, I took my dogs round the other side of my van and tied them up there! so just to keep the peace, as by this time we were already starting to pack up any way and set off to pastures greener!

And so as you can guess its 100% that we are not going to return to this site.

On arrival at the campsite we were a little disappointed to not have been put together with our friends, as this was requested when we made the booking. Not the end of the world as the site is only small so we could wave to each other!

The pitches are a little sloped so you may have to use a little patience when levelling up. The toilets and shower block were spotless and cleaned regularly ever day at 11. 00.

The walk from the site takes you directly up onto the ridge were you can pick up many other walks. You can also easily walk down into the village of Corfe where there was a particularly good pub & bakery.

Don't be put off by the approach lane to the site which is full of potholes and a bit rough around the edges, you may think you are driving up a farm track, but persevere.

Just to warn you the television is really poor at the bottom end of the site, so if you want to receive a channel or two ask for a pitch at the top end of the site.

Have just returned home from Corfe Castle and I want to go straight back! What a beautiful site. We were very lucky with our pitch - a hard standing which was level and in the sunshine. We have 2 Labradors and they were well catered for with walks - such stunning countryside.

The loos and shower block were fine, clean and never a queue although I would expect more people in peak months. The laundry room was functional, £3. 50 per wash and £1 for 20 mins tumble dryer.

I am fairly new to caravanning and would have liked some help reversing into our pitch but we were left to it. Didn't like to ask which was my pride taking over! At 0405 hrs this morning I could hear rustling outside. On investigating I found a fox dragging the dog food bin into the hedge!

Corfe Castle is lovely, the village is quaint and the site is well placed for the coast.

I would thoroughly recommend this site although the drive in takes some nerve!

Stayed here for a week at the end of the Summer Hols before the kids went back to school. Lovely site in a fantastic location.

We booked a hardstanding pitch with EHU for our caravan and awning. It rained a lot that week, but the pitch remained well drained. The only downside was that we were under trees which made for some very noisy nights as the water fell off the leaves and thudded on our roof. In fairness it does say on the notes for the site that some pitches are under trees. It may be worth trying to book one from free from trees though.

Shower block was well maintained, and although there were not many cubicles, I never had to wait. Good reception shop, and an excellent information centre with plenty of leaflets for nearby attractions.

The village of Corfe is very picturesque, with some lovely little shops. It is worth noting though that bar a nice little deli shop, there is nowhere near to buy provisions, so go well stocked for your stay or be prepared to drive. Pubs are good, but be prepared for the tourist prices!

A national trust membership is useful in this area for access to Corfe Castle, and for the numerous coastal/beach car parks, all of which seem to charge a flat rate of £8.

There is a fantastic free kids playground in the village of Harman's Cross just by the village Hall and Steam Railway. Our two loved the zip wire, and running to se the steam trains at the bridge.

If you are into walking, there are masses of footpaths in this area, and occasional access onto the military ranges nearby which include some beautiful natural moorland and costal cliffs.

Swanage is worth a visit, with a good range of shops, cafes, and crabbing on the seafront. If the weather is kind to you (we had one glorious day!) then head for the beaches at Studland, but be prepared to go early if it's high season as the roads get clogged early on, and at home time.

People moan about the access to this site, as it is up a narrow track with no passing places. We towed our 22ft van in and out with no problems. Just take it easy over the potholes and remember that you have priority over anyone not towing. If you're unlucky enough to meet someone else who is towing as well, then it's down to the reversing skills of whoever is nearest to either end!

All in all, a very pleasant site, in a beautiful part of the country.

This site is set on a hillside so the entrance to it is located up a steep lane. The hardstandings look fairly level for the vans but the tent pitches are put on quite sloping ground. We arrived in the rain for an 11 day holiday. The most modern aspect of the site is the reception block that has an adjoining conservatory with a sofa & all the books & information laid out.

The warden said we had a choice of 2 pitches but when he saw we had a trailer he said that the choice would only be 1 pitch as the access to the other pitch was too steep & muddy. The pitch we were shown was a triangular shape on the corner of the road below a small bank & it was a mudbath. We valiantly pitched on an angle as that was the only way the tunnel tent would fit but the sea of mud in the doorway became a nightmare almost immediately.

We asked the warden if had something like bark to put down to soak up the mud, but he replied that the drainage system was struggling to cope with the amount of rain & they could offer no remedy, suffice to say that after putting our indoor carpet outdoor to help stop the tracking in of mud we left after 2 days. I know they have no control over weather but should have strategy in place to deal with such weather.

It was also put as a 5* loo but no way does this match other 5* C & C C sites that we've stayed at, other campers in the shower block also passed comment on this. 20 min walk to Corfe, The Greyhound Pub allows dogs in.

This is a super campsite in a great location. We got a good welcome and the local information on hand is fantastic and enabled us to plan our 4 days very quickly.

The site is on quite a steep slope and we were at the top but apart from a longish walk to the well appointed and clean amenities block and hauling the water uphill it did not present a problem. The dog walk is easy to access and leads to Corfe Castle a short distance away or up onto the ridge.

You are a short walk from the Swanage Railway, or it is free parking if the weather is poor, and it is well worth a visit as is Swanage itself.

The New Inn at Church Knowle about a mile away is a great place to eat both lunchtimes and evenings. Via the cheap ferry you have good access to Poole and Bournemouth and the Quays at Christchurch are worth a visit for a stroll and a morning coffee. We did very little shopping in the area but Swanage looked to provide some good shops for general groceries etc.

Overall a good, quiet campsite, very well run, on the lovely Isle of Purbeck, well worth a visit.

This is a great site in a very good location. The staff and owners were friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and well maintained. There is a useful information room which includes a sofa to sit on while looking through the information books.

Corfe is a 15 minute walk away across the fields and from there a steam train can be taken to Swanage. The area has plenty to offer the walker including the Purbeck Hills and coastal paths. There are plenty of good pubs offering lunches and evening meals.

The site is on a hill but most of the pitches have been levelled and are delimited from each other. It is a fairly sheltered site, which was fortunate as we had gale force winds during our stay.

The signage to the site is not clear at the road junction and it would be easy to drive past as only a brown tourist camp site sign points up the lane. The lane itself looks more like a small farm track and is slightly overgrown.

We will return to the site again.

I have just returned after spending 8 nights at Corfe Castle. On arrival we were greeted by friendly members of staff and walked to our pitch. The site were very accommodating to our needs as we were 1 of 3 family members to pitch at this site during the 8 nights, where they put us all together.

The site is small and is in a lovely location. The signpost is very small and easily missed (as we did). Toilet block, washing up and laundry are all kept well and didn't have to wait for any of the facilities during our stay.

There is fish and chip van which visits on a Wednesday evening between 5:30 and 6:30 which was a fantastic welcome from trying to organise dinner for a number of family members.

Unfortunately as others have said the site is very hilly and as such tent pitches are on a slope which made for difficult pitching. Although there are some flatter pitches (used mainly for the caravan pitches which are able to level out!) the main 'tent' area is on a slope. The pitches themselves are not clearly marked which made for interesting setting up for other campers throughout the week. During the 8 nights we were there the electricity was 'tripped' on average 2-3 times a day and at most 6 times in one day. Each time we had to goto the office to get this reset at the main switch which got very tedious (please bear in mind it was not us that was tripping the electricity).

The children's play area is dated and could be doing with an update, although it is in an ideal location away from other campers.

As for walks we did venture into Corfe along the track from the site, beware there is a stretch of about 200 meters that is single track not ideal for a buggy. The walk is lovely and takes about 20 minutes. In Corfe there are a small selection of shops the obvious castle ruin and not much else. There is a pub which serves take-away fish and chips however at £4. 50 for sausage a chips we ventured into Swanage for our first night take-away.

The site is perfectly located for a number of local attractions Poole, Swanage, Monkey World, Bovington and Lulworth to name a few.

We don't tend to re-visit sites once we have been to them as there are so many out there but if we did its unlikely we would return here due to the inconvenience of having to get the electricity reset on numerous occasions, the space between pitches and the slope of the 'tent' area. If you are able to see passed these issues then its a lovely site in a great location.

Brilliant warm dry weather made this holiday. The site staff were helpful, informative & very polite. Facilities were well looked after & info room well stocked with leaflets.

The converted red telephone box was well used for book exchanges as the majority of pitches were unable to receive TV. ( Our Radio was OK ) In the main blocks & levellers are needed as the site is sloping.

There are basics in the shop otherwise Co-op & Sainsbury's in Wareham. There are good walks directly from the site & walks to the coast from woodland CP just outside Kingston or from the CP in Worth Matravers.

A short walk into Corfe along the hillside footpath & you can get the bus to Swanage or Wareham & Poole in the other direction.

There is also a seasonal steam train that runs into Swanage from Corfe.
