Genuinely friendly owners made us feel welcome and the site was full but beautiful, bluebells everywhere. They seem to have put lots of recent work into improving hardstandings and drainage, and they'd just finished a very attractive stone reception area. The tiny shop inside sold very little (ice cream
Was good and local though) but the owners took orders the night before for bread and newspapers, very civilised!
The only complaint was not enough washing up sinks when the site was full, but showers and toilets coped fine. The playground was fine and tucked away at the top of the site, so kids could make some noise and run about without disturbing those without kids. A lovely area and a nice walk into Corfe Castle and the steam train. The Greyhound pub staff were rather surly and the outdoor space was heaving, plus they are the only pub in the country who don't give you peas with your (expensive) fish and chips. Even baked beans would have been nice! The pub next to the station was a nicer option, with lots of room for children.
The steam train was a lovely day out for the whole family, highly recommended.

What lovely weather hot sunny and so not like April we even manage to get sunburnt.
The site was wonderful quite and tranquil until the weekend of departure.
That's when the campers arrived with their unruly children and spoilt a really idyllic haven.
We have had our children and now have 3 grandchildren which we love to bits but when you have such a tranquil site as this the last thing you want is unruly children running around your pitch.
Shower block brilliant.
Only 10mins walk into Corfe. Lovely Deli in Village

I spent 2 nights here, on a pitch about halfway up the hill that the site is built on. The lower part is quite gentle, and the top part has a number of flat sections; I was on one of the latter. The only downside was the tree cover - the wind, and squirrels who took the occasional interest in the van, combined I reckon to drop acorns (or something) on my roof in the night!
The wardens, who were busy maintaining the grass, etc, were helpful and friendly. There is a small shop in reception and you can order bread and cakes for delivery early the following morning.
The gents toilet/shower block contains a few showers and several toilet/washroom cubicles. Two issues - water leaking from one shower cubicle into the next, and the automatic lighting switching off when I was still in the shower - obviously I take too long!
The dishwashing area is under cover and there is a single wahing machine and tumble drier, with indoor clothes drying area (which was always in use).
The site in early October was quite busy. Corfe Castle (NT) can be reached by foot via a footpath at the top of the site - it takes about 15 minutes with a great view of the castle, especially if you climb to the top of the hill. Corfe seems to be targeted at the tourist although in October I once again found myself in a situation where eating places were not opening in the evening until it was too late to walk back to the site.
I spent a morning visiting Studland, which took about 15 minutes to reach by van, parking at a NT car park next to the Bankes Arms before walking to the stunning Old Harry Rocks (not for those who dislike cliff edges/heights). The pub was full at lunchtime so I resorted to eating in the van. Walking along the coastal path I visited the WWII Fort Henry fortifications before moving onto Knoll Beach which was also pretty busy. Back to the van and onto Studland Heath briefly, watching the chain ferry head over to Sandbanks.
A very enjoyable couple of days - I need to return, spend less time chatting and more time rambling :-)

Small but perfectly formed: A lovely site, well kept and in beautiful surroundings. Friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff made our stay a real pleasure. We are keen on natural history and this site has so much to offer from birds to badgers.
Within 10 minutes of arrival I watched nuthatches, tree creepers and woodpeckers at work on the three nearest trees as site staff were busy mounting a nestbox on a tree 50 feet away.
In contrast to some other reviewers our pitch did not seem particularly small. A pleasant walk to the pretty village gains access to the Castle, shops pubs and local buses. We will definitely be returning.

This was our first experience of a Camping and Caravanning Club site.
We had managed to be squeezed in at the last minute as we have a 3 man pop-up tent. This meant we were on a small pitch, in a little glade. It was very shaded, all day long and in a windy corridor - the caravan pitches at the top of the site seemed to be more sheltered and sunny.
On the positive side, the toilet block was very clean and plenty of hot water. We appreciated being able to pre-order bread (inc. Delicious pain au chocolat) and newspapers from the shop. The site was very friendly; everyone said good morning as they passed.
The walk down into Corfe Castle village was delightful. We enjoyed eating at the National Trust tea room and Greyhound Inn.
We ventured to Studland Bay to do some of the Jurassic Coast path and to Worth Matravers - the Square and Compass was an awesome pub - top pasties and cider!
All in all, we loved Dorset but perhaps would choose a cheaper campsite next time.

We stayed 6 nights here - it is a wonderful location. As other people have said there is no light pollution so is excellent for star gazing. Great walks to Corfe Castle and Church Knowle.
The access track is a bit dodgy - it could do with the trees cutting back to avoid damage to wide units, signage from the road is also poor.
We were surprised how small the pitches are, as a C&CC site we expected more space between us and our neighbours. The site was full (summer hols so expected) and the facilities struggled to cope. There was always a queue for washing up.
We loved the location, esp for dog walks but won't be returning - we prefer more space. We were also surprised the shop was only open 1 hour in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.

What a great site! Perfect directions from the C&CC. Approach road/track leading to the site is a bit scary (no passing places) and bumpy but fine if everyone sticks to the rules of not turning up before 12noon!
Lovely, friendly wardens who obviously work very hard keeping the site clean and tidy.
Pitches are in lots of separate areas so it feels like a small site. The fairly new hardstanding pitches are large. Some of the grass pitches looked quite sloping.
The shower/toilet block was kept very clean by the wardens and had 5 or 6 very powerful showers in each (ladies & gents). Undercover washing up area housed in the same building.
The shop/reception had a few food essentials and fresh bread (from the local bakery in Corfe) could be ordered along with daily newspapers the day before. TV signal not good but we managed to get a signal via our satellite dish through the trees!
The walk into Corfe via the public footpath (no roads!) takes 15/20 mins if strolling. Corfe village itself is lovely. Doggie friendly pubs (an essential for us!). We ate at Bankses Hotel, sat in the garden with a view of the castle and steam train! Not cheap food but enjoyable. Also tried the Greyhound Inn. Didn't eat there but the food looked really good. The view of the castle from the beer garden was even better there!
We took the steam train from Corfe into Swanage for the day. £9 each adult (return) and free for the dog! Well worth the money. Swanage is a very traditional seaside town (complete with Punch & Judy!). Ate in the White Swan. Again not cheap but nice food. Buses also run from Corfe into Wareham (nice for a wander around the town walls and river), Swanage & Poole.
We loved our 3 nights here and would love to go back again soon!

We stayed at this site for one night while waiting for spaces to become available elsewhere. The only pitch available had electric hook-up which we had to pay for even though we did not use it.
We were shown to the pitch and asked not to leave any open food in/around the tent to help deter wildlife.
It is a very well maintained clean site. The facilities were excellent, and the cleanest of any campsite that we have stayed in. The gates are closed overnight to prevent cars driving around the site, but you can still access the site by foot when the gates are shut.
There are nice walks from the campsite without the need to drive first and it took about 10 minutes to get to Corfe Castle by the footpaths
As a non member we £27 for the pitch for one night, which was a bit pricy, but if you want a quiet site to sit and relax during the day and are a CC club member it may be better value.
Have never camped amongst electric hook-ups before, so don’t know whether it is normal to hear people watching war films late in to the night or not, but not something we were grateful of.

This was our first 5 night trip, excellent site.
Approach road narrow and with speed bumps.
Site well laid out but some pitches on a slight slope can be entertaining in a tent, I lost quite a few items off the table at first.
Showers & loos great, clean, hot shower and hairdryers. You can order fresh bread and papers from the shop and they stock the basics.
Lots of nice walks. Will happily go back again.

I visited this site for a 5 day break and it was the first time I have stayed at a C&CC club site. The approach road was very poor but appeared to be in the progress of being repaired but I did not see any sign of work during my stay.
A lot of the pitches are on a slope so you will need levellers and the roads and paths within the site are very dusty. However the staff are very helpful and the toilets and showers are very clean. The small shop / reception area is well stocked with a selection of goodies and there is plenty of local information.
There are a lots of walks around the site and we saw a lot of wildlife including badgers ! I Would certainly go back to this site, and I am already planning make my next trip. What more do I need to say. Great site in a brilliant location ideal for visiting Corfe castle and the village as well as the Swanage Railway.
