Great site and deservedly popular. Site manager and wardens very helpful. Been staying at this site on and off since C&CC took over the franchise several years ago. Site has gradually changed with hard standings being put in for caravans and motorhomes. Sadly like most C&CC sites the only tent pitches now left are those that are inaccessible to caravans due to steep slopes, damp ground. In general however they are further away from the gravel track that kicks up huge amounts of limestone dust. Plenty of wildlife interest Foxes, Badgers, Barn Owls, Tawny Owls and Kestrels are regular visitors. Located on the south facing slope of the Purbeck ridge the site is in a suntrap and can get extremely warm. EE phone signal now excellent. O2 poor. Only negative is that during high season the site is very expensive.

Second stay here and every bit as good as the first. Corfe Castle itself is 10 minutes stroll away and has a couple of pubs that are fine, a decent cafe or two and the castle. This time we walked down the ridge to Swanage which made for a lovely walk and caught the bus back. Good fish and chips there too!
The site is great to me - fairly private pitches quite a few in among trees. Facilities very well maintained indeed. The staff really could not have been more helpful - great site.

We chose the site based on the location near Corfe Castle. The booking process proved problematic as it took 3 attempts with a myriad of booking reference numbers (we had 2 tents)and we could not be given a guarantee that we could camp together. As we were camping with my partner's daughter we found this a bit strange. On arrival we were asked to pay and the warden asked us to accompany her to the pitch. She brought us to a pitch at the far end of the site which was tree covered, downhill (slope) and we were advised to park our car to the side of the pitch. After we pitched, the pitch proved to be very wet and not well drained, we went to Corfe Castle for a meal. We couldn't walk to town as the warden had informed us that the path was very muddy and slippy so we chose to use our car which couldn't get traction and it had started sinking into the ground. After a few minutes we were informed by the people next to us that they had had the same problem. We feel we should have been warned about it. It seemed as we were only in a tent we felt the pitches were an after thought and we felt treated as second class campers compared to the caravans which had gravel standings. Other grassy areas on the campsite also seemed muddy.
Facilities were good, we ordered fresh bread which was lovely, in general staff were helpful. As a previous review had mentioned make sure that you see your pitch before you pay.
The entrance lane was in disrepair and the impression of this lane was not very welcoming. Although the site is close to the castle and town it is one of the few places in the area where you cannot enjoy the view of the castle from. We had no mobile phone signal.

I'm glad I didn't read some of these reviews before visiting this site! Yes, driving up the lane does not give the best impression but once at the site you receive a lovely welcome. With a campervan and a small tent, we found the pitches to be a perfectly acceptable size. The bathroom facilities are clean and very well kept especially the family bathroom room which was great for my 3 year old, as was the small playground. Other campers were very friendly. The location is excellent and it's a 25 minute walk to Corfe Castle. If you like being in the countryside, with great facilities and very friendly owners then this is for you - it's the nicest club site I've stayed on.

Had an enjoyable stay for two nights over a weekend.
Very friendly greeting at reception, with good local knowledge of the area. Our hardstanding pitch was flat enough to level with our small chocks and well maintained.
Plenty of good walks directly from the site and it's a nice stroll down to Corfe Castle and the pubs in the village. We walked along the Purbeck way down to Swanage which was a nice scenic walk.
Generally we stay on grass pitches but they looked a bit sloping so we'll use this site again when we want to stay on a site with hardstanding in the area.
All in all, a nice, tidy, easy site to stay at.

Our arrival to Corfe Castle camping and caravan club site was a little bumpy driving up the narrow lane with the caravan rocking side to side but taken slowly things were fine. The site looked nice and compact so to speak with small to large pitches. The whole site was in trees and was nice and shaded with an abundance of wild life and insects, I say insects as trees do contain a good variety of these little creatures so unless your an insect lover it would be advisable to keep your awnings and windows shut at night! The views around this site are stunning and plenty of walks to please everyone. It was nice to see such a variety of folk taking up camping for the first time and from different walks of life' a clear indication camping is making a huge return in this country.
After booking in at reception we were taken to our hard standing pitch amongst the trees. Now I give a word of advice here, whether you take this on board is up to you. Before handing over your hard earned cash to settle up total account, request an inspection of the pitch because, firstly is the pitch big enough for what you asked for? and secondly is the pitch liable to get muddy or flooded when it rains? because if you just hand over your money and settle up, you get what you see. ! I am sure the site manager would be more than willing to give you advice and help.
The particular pitch we had was of grass with a hard plastic underlay. It was nice and level but rather small. Thankfully we only had a small porch awning which just gave us enough room to park the car with a tight squeeze. Also I was quite shocked at how close the neighbouring pitches were. I did not need a tape measure to clearly see many of the pitches were much much less than 6 metres apart rule. So quietly does it if your a snoring person.
The toilet block was in perfect condition and spotless as always with this Club Site. Water was hot and only a few minutes wait for a shower during busy times. The male shower block consisted of 4 showers and 3 toilet cubicles and 2 private wash basins as well as urinals. The main reception block consisted of a shop containing less than the bare essentials, a room with nice sofa's to browse through the local attraction leaflets. Also a converted Red Telephone box containing books, cd's, etc to borrow whist on your stay.
Our little boy enjoyed the brand new children's area consisting of a large multi person swing and a wooden climbing house with a slide as an exit.
Drinking water and waste water outlets were positioned very well around the site.
Something which doesn't get mentioned very often on reviews is TV and Mobile phone reception, well this particular site unless your parked at the very top of the site TV reception is poor to non existent, the mobiles worked fine if you didn't mind taking a gentle walk up hill until you got signal, this applied to all networks.
On our exit we could only tow our caravan one way around the track as manoeuvring our caravan was very tight due to the small pitch and narrow service track. Due to the dusty and stone road surface it took us three attempts to climb the steep hill and out onto flat ground. My clutch and tyres were not happy. I could see why certain parts of this road had deep ruts.
Over all it was a nice well kept site, however due to the uncertainty with getting a large pitch or small pitch and the close proximity to other pitches we will not be returning to this site.

We booked this site as we wanted to visit many places on the Jurassic coast and we prefer to stay on a club site. The other choice was Charmouth but we decided that Corfe looked a more interesting site. We had been a little worried reading other reviews about sloping pitches but it wasn't too bad. There was a slight slope but nothing we couldn't deal with. The pitches are not large but the warden did estimate 6 metres and asked us not to put our tent beyond a certain point. Due to the way the site is laid out with many trees it is not possible to pitch tents in different places so there was no grass at all under the tent, night after night of use had left bare earth, thankfully it was dry so did not become a mud bath. The toilets were clean and sufficient for the site, the longest I had to wait for a shower was about 2 mins and I never had to wait for the toilet. We did have to wait 5 mins a couple of times for washing up but it was no big deal. We had no problem finding the site, I had checked google maps before we went and it was very easy to find. Our son loved the site but be warned in the trees is a little stream and many children got very muddy! We had a wonderful time and will be returning next year.

This is a nice site perfectly located in beautiful surroundings. Do not be put off by the awful single track lane leading to the site or the lack of signage. The toilet block is clean and although the site was full, we never had to wait for showers etc. Do not be tempted to arrive early at the site if towing, as there are not passing places except space for a car at the top of the lane, it could be a potential nightmare. There are pot holes at the top of the lane which need attention but be slow and it will be okay. The staff are friendly and there is a lovely information room. The road on site is chalky gravel and we saw some caravans struggle to get up the slope, even four wheel drive cars. We had a nice pitch, out of the way at the bottom of the site, but we did notice that there are a lot of pitches for a small site. Some of the pitches seemed very small and caravans struggled to reverse on the pitches from the narrow road around site. All that said, the location of the site and the views from the hills behind it make it a worth while visit. It is a walkers dream and family friendly as there is a small enclosed play area for younger children.

We visited this club site as we were going to the Swanage Jazz Festival. When we arrived we had a choice of 2 hardstanding pitches, one was under the trees so we decided on the other.
This pitch was quite small and had we erected an awning, we would have had hardly any room at all! Other people were also complaining about the size of some of the pitches.
The toilets were spotless and cleaned every day at 11am. The showers had plenty of hot water.
The area is lovely and the walk from the caravan site to Corfe very enjoyable, We saw many butterflies and birds.
The staff were very helpful and obliging.
My only complaint really is the size of the pitches, not what I would have thought for a Camping & Caravan Club site. Normally they are very strict about the '6 metre' rule

I never ever like to give negative reviews however this site is not typical of a Camping and Caravan Club site. On any club site I would presume the units were legally spaced but it did not appear so, it looked like they were crammed in. The site is situated in one of the UKs most picturesque areas however the views are mainly obscured. This problem is nothing compared to just finding the site! As you travel to the site from Corfe Castle it is true there is a national brown sign denoting a camp site however this had disappeared in the undergrowth and hedge. It actually took me two trips along the lane for me to even notice the sign. Then it was only after a local person informed me to its whereabouts. If you are coming in from the other direction it’s impossible to see it at all. There was no camping and caravan club sign at all and nothing giving the name of the site! This is bad as there is another four sites along the same lane.
On arriving sometime after seven in the evening and there was no one about. So we stayed at one of the other sites along the lane. Whilst staying at this other site it became evident how difficult the lack of signage at the club site was making it for club members and others, as at least twice a day club members and others came onto the site where we stayed asking if this was the club site. People who were regular visitors to the site where I stayed alleged that this had happened more days than not.
So if I go back to the area I would not even consider the club site as it does not meet my expectations of a Camping and Caravan Club site.
