'Superb' just about sums this site up. Fantastic location with walks to corfe via safe footpaths. Quite sheltered. Most pitches level.
Clean new shower block. Dog friendly (observe club rules) with safe walks & poo bins just outside the gates. Walk brochure available from site office.
The fantastic Swanage steam railway runs through corfe, which does have a station, so leave the car on site & get the steam train to swanage.
We were a little disappointed with the site shop re-stock but it was getting on in the season, so please take note,
Corfe castle is a desert regarding shops, only 3 available in the village and not cheap and poorly stocked for us campers. Cost me £16. 00 for a bottle of wine, take out from the pub & that was the cheapest available. The nearest petrol/diesel is Swanage or Wareham.
Safe to say 'we will return'

This was our 3rd visit of the year to this great site.
The facilities are always immaculate and the owners work really hard at keeping them that way ( they were even cleaning at 11pm one evening!)
The pitch that we had was a good size and well spaced between other campers.
There is a children's play area that is well out of the way for those of us without children and there are lots of walks as well.
The site is well placed for visiting the Swanage steam railway, Corfe Castle and the village. A bit further afield is Studland Bay and the chain link ferry to Poole, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are good areas for walking.
The Half Way Inn towards Norden does good, reasonably priced food and drink.
We are already looking forward to our next visit!

You get to this site up a weird looking lane which is a bit tight, but then it opens out to a well kept campsite. The staff were really friendly and helpful and gave us a lovely pitch. We had to reverse the caravan onto the pitch and it was very steep! But once in and levelled, all was ok.
The shower block was lovely and clean and hot. The flower beds were to an amazing standard and the children had a play area as well as being able to ride their bikes around some of the sight.
We walked down to the village a couple of times, coming back made you puff up the hill, but at least the children slept well!
A fab time was had by all.

This was not our first choice of site, but once we got here we were not disappointed. It is not a large site, and it is on the side of a hill, so some pitches have a definite slope. It is wooded (as given in the site details) so we were not surprised to be pitched under a tree. We had read dire warnings about the access road - when we got to it we burst out laughing - in Norfolk this is called A ROAD! If this lane scares you, don't ever visit West Runton site! The facilities were busy, but clean. We hardly ever had to wait. The wardens are very helpful. There are lovely walks right off site - the Purbeck way runs across the top of the hill. A stroll into Corfe Castle village gets you to the Swanage steam railway. Studland beach is lovely, and the ferry to Poole is worth visiting if only to see the fantastic houses on Sandbanks. There is cycle hire nearby, with some great cycle routes locally. We had a great holiday.

We arrived here on the Friday of the BH weekend:earlier that day and in the preceding week they had a load of rain, however our pitch was well drained. The sun came out and it was great.
The site managers and wardens were helpful and friendly. The site is excellent and in a fantastic position, only 10 mins in the car to Studland one of my favourite beaches. The ideal setting in the Purbecks.
The facilities were kept clean and in good condition.
People mention the lane up to the site: I've seen much worse.
My son enjoyed the playground at the top of the site and also he thought Corfe was 'awesome' at the time he was 10 years old. He asked the other day about this summer. He wants to go back to Corfe. My son enjoyed it and so did my husband and I.
Wareham is only a short car journey if you need to stock up on the essentials, Wareham also has a good choice of pubs and restaurants as does swanage: a slightly longer drive away.
Lulworth cove, Kimmeridge, Poole and Studland are all well within reach either by car, bike, walking: never tried the public transport!
We loved being in deepest darkest Dorset! Until 9 years ago we lived in Dorset and loved being back!

Lovely site, very relaxed feel and very helpful wardens. Site is split into sections, we were on the top section which seemed a lot quieter than the first, bit of a walk to the shower block but ok.
Fantastic walks, especially into Corfe through the fields and the views of Corfe Castle were amazing, the dog loved it!
Went on the steam train into Swanage, again dog was welcome and we all had a lovely day, nice place.
Corfe is handy for visiting quite a few places by car but don't think that the local walks could be beaten.

Beautiful site. This was our second visit and we hope to return. The site was clean and tidy, toilet and showers excellent. I could live there. Can't praise it high enough.
The children's play area was basic, but that did not stop the enjoyment of my 10 year son.
The shop was great and the opportunity to order fresh bread and newspapers was brilliant.
Simply stunning and you wont be disappointed.

Spent 7 nights here in rainy June, instead of our planned 5. Unfortunately due to car problems we arrived at the site on the back of a tow truck late on a Sunday night.
Richard, his wife and the team could not have been more helpful and accommodating even though the site was full to capacity most of the time during our stay.
Richard pitched and unpitched our van.
The staff always had a smile and a cheery hello.
The shop stocks a small amount of local produce which was excellent.
The showers/toilet block were always warm and cleaned. The site entrance is a little tight on arrival but no problems leaving.
Not much privacy between vans/tents but a fantastic base for the local area, which is spectacular and beautiful
If we are ever back in Dorset I am sure we would go back.

This is a lovely site, well laid out and well run. We were right at the bottom of the site, next to a hedge and under a large beech tree, lots of shade to keep the tent cool!
The site is sloping but there are many flat pitches and hard standings.
Toilets well topped up with loo paper, showers with permanent hot water as far as we could tell, wash basins all clean, tidy and heated.
There is a small shop for essentials on site where bread etc can be ordered for next day delivery. In Corfe village there is a newsagents, bakery and Clealls who stock just about everything. Wareham has a Sainsburys and a Boots. Highly recommend the Scott Arms in nearby Kingston for food.
The walks and countryside are AWESOME! The walk from the campsite, down the hill and over the fields behind Corfe Castle were beautiful - it felt like we were re-enacting an episode of the Famous Five! But it wasn't Ginger Pop we were drinking in the Greyhound later. Also a visit to 'Clealls of Corfe' they sell some unusual things and the Olives were very tasty.
Highly recommend the walk from Studland over Ballard Down to Swanage, a visit to Corfe Castle itself, walking around RSPB Arne nature reserve and a trip on the steam train from Corfe Station.
I did not see any facilities for children to play on, but I did not explore the whole site so there might be a playground tucked away.
One of the best sites we have ever stayed on and we're going back soon.

Our 3rd April in a row to this site!
Small improvements keep appearing, new reception & info room, they now have a dog waste bin at either entrance.
We love this site and the first 2 nights were wonderful, we watched an owl and a sparrowhawk using the nest boxes on site. The castle had a Saxon weekend, which made everywhere very busy.
This time we went walked to the New Inn at Church Knowle, nice pub, although dogs not allowed inside. Luckily we had lovely weather, so had a nice meal in the garden.
We still enjoyed our stay, and I'm sure we will be back next year - just at a quieter time!
