Are first visit to this beautifully secluded in a rural location with magnificent scenic walks through surrounding countryside ,Corfe castle / village about 3/4 of a mile walk, good village shop with all essentials although there is a small shop onsite but not much choice.
Very beautiful studland knoll Beach only 5 miles away,Good beach cafe bbq area /showers.
Swanage has a wide range of attractions, good value for money.
The Campsite
Good play area for the kids, are children spent a lot of time in the play area and made friends with other children ,enjoyed it very much.
The toilet / shower / laundry block was excellent and kept very clean.
Only problem we found was pitch we had was too small for are tent and very muddy not allowing the grass to grow .Very noisy next to play area.
All pitches that week all too close, not what I would expect from the camping and caravanning club.
Owners are new very pleasant, have children of there own, they can be very loud at times when unsupervised and allowed to run around park.
Hope the new owners will continue to update the park to make it more suitable for tents and better shop with more choice .Would go again only if able to choose a suitable pitch.

Stayed 4 nights (Monday through to Friday) at this very pleasant site. This was our first time camping (2 adults & 1 teenager) and we weren't too sure what to expect. We had a warm welcome from the couple running the site. Our pitch was in the top field, on a bit of a slope but not something which was a problem (but as noted in other reviews most of the caravans & camper-vans had lots of blocks and chocks!).
We were up by the trees but had lots of sunshine in the early morning and into the late afternoon. The weather was hot and dry, so no problems with the ground. The EHU worked without any problems, the owners offered to lend an extension if our lead didn't reach the hook-up.
There is a children's play area with climbing frames and swings. It was next to our pitch but all the kids were back with there families by about 2200, so no great disturbances! It was very quiet at night apart from the Army practising their night gunnery on the Wednesday night!.
The toilet/shower/laundry block was excellent and kept very clean. The water temperature in the showers was a bit fierce though! We didn't have to queue to use the showers - we just avoided the peak times.
Corfe Castle was a short walk away and has the usual newsagents, bakers, general store, pubs, oh, and a castle. The steam train into Swannage is fun, and the beautiful Lulworth Cove & Durdle Dore are only a half hour drive away. Walks in the area are well signposted.
The site was getting busier by the Friday, but then we are just getting into the school holidays. We'd be very happy to stay their again.

As stated many times the owners are very friendly and made us fill very welcome, the best thing is he walked around with us to choose our pitch and then left us alone to get on with it, many of the C&CC sites have wardens that stand over you keeping an eye to make sure you pitch to the site rules, the warden at Corfe Castle was much more laid back, that suits us.
The toilet facilities were clean, but a bit small, I felt they could do with a few more showers.
A small shop sold milk, rolls, cold drinks etc etc.
The site does slope in many places, but we had a fairly flat pitch, I don’t have chocks and we were ok.
The site is situated in a wonderful location, especially for walking, if you walk out of the gate at the top of the site, this will lead you down to Corfe Castle. The Purbeck Way runs close to the site as well.
We took the bus into Swanage from Corfe Castle, it runs every hour during the week, but we found it quite expensive, £14 for an explorer ticket for the two of us.
There are four pubs in Corfe Castle, The Greyhound, The Fox, The Castle and the Bankes Arms Hotel. If you like Real Ale like me try the Greyhound or The Fox (I didn’t get to the Bankes Arms Hotel) but it was £3 a pint in the Greyhound and £2-50 in the Fox and it was served straight from the cask in the Fox, both pubs allowed dogs.
We will definitely be going back to this site, but probably not in high season because I don’t think the loo’s are big enough.

A very pleasant and quiet site, run by a helpful young couple. There are problems, but if you are prepared for them they are surmountable.
Problem 1 you will need loads of chocks, and perhaps even crampons, as every pitch slopes.
Problem 2 the approach is by a single lane which is flanked by hedges. We met a caravan half way up it and a bit of a problem.(Must go on a course on how to back with trailer!)
Lashings of hot water and very clean showers etc, although perhaps too few if the site becomes crowded.
We certainly will go there again, perhaps off season.

Our first go at camping as a family. We chose this campsite by having a wander round the week before. Very impressed by the friendly owners, the normally clean facilities and the local area. We walked into Corfe village every day, living off the cake in the NT tearooms by the castle. (Butterscotch cake is my fave !).
And - going again in a few weeks time.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this site.
First we were sited in the top field and it does have quite a big slope but on the whole that did not affect us too much. On the plus side it is in a lovely location. Our pitch was surrounded by trees which did make it a little cool at times especially as other parts of the site still had lovely sunshine!.
The site is generally very quiet and I had the best night sleeps Ive have had in a long time.
Only the weekend we stayed the site was nearly full on the Saturday. There is only one toilet block and it did feel the strain. If you got there either side of the peak 8.00am slot you were generally ok. The toilets etc were generally clean outside of those times.
The owners were very helpful when we booked and always pleasent when we saw them. There is a small shop which carries all the essentials. The owners look after the shop aswell. Although stated opens times of twice a day, if the owners were busy it could be closed. But if oyou pooped back some time later generally was around.
The location is excellent a 15 min walk accross the fields to the centre of Corfe and the Swanage Steam Railaway.
Overall a nice site I will want to go back to see if the new owners make improvemnts as I think if they do this could well become a favourite.

I agree with all the previous reviews about this site the facilities and the excellent young couple who run it on behalf of the Caravan and Camping Club. There are however a couple of things that the Club needs to address. Entry to the site is very restricted if more than 2 units arrive at the same time then entry / exit to the site is blocked. The site roads are dirt tracks with one so badly rutted you have to be very careful when driving up it. Take lots of levelling blocks with you, the site is very uneven and I saw some caravans perched on piles of wooden blocks and bricks that looked very precarious and watch out in wet weather, it gets a bit boggy in places. Having said that I would say that this is a well run site set in a lovelly area, and I would have no hesitation in going again.

We loved this site! Ideal for families, couples and walkers looking for a quiet site in a fantastic location.
The site itself is all we could wish for - good facilities (nice warm showers, hairdryers, laundry facilities, covered washing up area and family bathroom)a small shop selling the basics and some ice-creams and there is a small childrens playground with swings and some climbing frames. The people who run it were very friendly and welcoming and let us choose our pitch.
The location is fabulous. You can walk to Corfe Castle village in about 15 mins, although it took us much longer as we kept stopping to look at all the butterflies, try and pet the sheep (well the toddler did anyway!) and admire the views of the castle and surrounding countryside. We tried 3 different pubs and they all had lovely gardens to sit in with fab views and were family friendly. Out favourite was the Greyhound Inn right next to the castle. There are a couple of nice little shops including one that specialised in Enid Blyton books and gifts (apparently one of her Famous Five books was inspired by a visit to Corfe Castle). We also visited the Model Village - a reasonably priced attraction (about £3 pp I think) which has a lovely garden with lots of games eg Jenga, Connect 4, Draughts etc which you can play.
There is loads for families to do in the wider area, we caught the steam train from Corfe Castle to the beach at Swanage. There is also a fabulous beach at Studland, where you can get the ferry to Sandbanks in Poole and then go on to Bournemouth as we did. We also visited an attraction called Farmer Palmers which is a farm with lots of playareas, tractor rides etc and would highly recommend for the under 8's.

We've just got back from a 3 night stay at this site. It was set in beautiful surroundings, lots of trees and well set out. Plenty of space allocated. Great play area for the children, giving them the chance to explore while we knew they were safe. Washing up facilities were excellent. Toilets and showers were great, with lots of hot water, very clean, also with hairdryers! Electric hook-up was also good. There was also a fab family room as well. Shop on site stocked the basic essentials. The owners were really friendly and helpful. There is a nice walk to Corfe through the fields at the rear of the site, took only about 15mins and was a really enjoyable walk. The Castle Inn serves fantastic food, highly recommended. Corfe Castle was great to explore. We also visited Studland and Swanage, both great beaches. There are lots of great pubs around, we found The Square and Compass in Worth Matravers, which has a great beer garden looking out to sea. They also serve homemade pasties! All in all a fantastic weekend, lots to see and do, and the site was just perfect. We'll definitely be going back for longer next time.

This is a site that has just been bought by new young owners who live on-site in their caravan. They have young children. Consequently, the toilet facilities are spotless and the site is very child friendly. Although, there are no hard standings at present, plans are in the pipeline. We had no problems on a wet May Day and were easily helped on our way by the very friendly owner's Landrover. The site is very quiet and excellent for all types of campers. Walkers are well catered for and the seaside, Swanage and Studland are only 5 miles away. Reception stocks milk if you run out.
Corfe Castle, is a 5minute walk down a picturesque lane and all the facilities are there including some fabulous pubs and restaurants. Public transport is nearby or be stylish, use the park and ride and travel to Swanage on the steam train. We will certainly visit again very soon.
