We have just spent a wonderful Easter at this site. It was not our initial choice as we had originally booked to stay at another site. Unfortunately the site was so wet and windy that we had to cut our losses after 3 hours trying to put the tent up! Thank goodness that we did as it enabled us to find this gem of a site!
The new owners came straight out and introduced themselves to us and explained that they have only taken it over in the last 4 weeks and were so helpful and relaxed. They suggested that we walk round the site to find our perfect pitch and then take the car round but that if we got it stuck in the mud (the top field was a bit soft and muddy) not to worry as they would come and get us out. Just as well as that was exactly what happened!
The site is lovely and was quite quiet, the pitches are all enclosed by woodland and this makes it feel nice and private. The facilties are spotlessly clean and the site is well looked after.
It is superbly located for exploring Purbeck and further afield. It also joins the Purbeck Way so is excellent for walkers wanting a handy base.
We would highly reccommend this site to anyone wanting to 'get away from it all' and we will definitely be going back.

Stayed over a 3 day period - caravan/awning and couple of pup tents - very friendly site - with lots of shelter for pitches (there is a more open overflow field for tents only). We have large family and found site good in all respects - facilities first class, clean and abundant hot water and useful washing/drying room. Older kids were delighted to have small cabin (tuck shop) open twice a day which had all basic foodstuffs and more.
Small playground for younger kids and numerous walks/rides leading out from camp to Hill behind - fabulous views from up there for only 15 minutes gentle climb.
The only slight downers were that some of the pitches were perhaps a little too close to each other (for us) and the cost is per person rather than the pitch (£30/night 2 adults 7 kids) - which made us move on down the road to a more basic/cheaper but delightful field by the church in Church Knowle.
Overall a very good sheltered well serviced site with exceptionally friendly owner - would happily recommend to anyone

It is a wonderful campsite and we have been there 3 times. We first went in 2004 and we had wonderful weather apart from rain on 1 day, it was also like that in 2005 and 2006. There are quite a lot of pitches but some of the reviews aren't true. The pitches aren't on slopes at all unless you have to go into the overflow field which is on a slight slope. There is an excellent shower/ toilet block that is always clean and fresh. There are also some washing up sinks and a drying room that are excellent. There is a small shop that has the essentials and Hazel(owner) will freeze ice-packs There are some pitches under the shelter of mature trees and some in the open. The pitches are made flat and there is no cost for a bigger tent unless it takes up more one pitch. There is no loud noise after 10pm so you can get a good nights sleep. You are allowed BBQ's so long as they're not the disposable kind. There is a little play area so it is good for small kids. Overall it is a fantastic site that is a very good price but I've forgotten exactly how much!

Had a 6 night stay here at the start of June. This site has to be highly recommended. Its run by a nice lady called Hazel and is situated just 10 minutes walk from Corfe Castle. When you enter the site, your asked to park and walk around the site to select a pitch. A great idea if its muddy or you have children. The site itself has a clean but natural feel to it, with a number of pitches being shaded by mature trees. The grass is regularly cut and the toilet/shower blocks are new, very clean and didn't run out of hot water even when it got busy at the weekend. There is signage asking you to clean up after yourself in the shower's with mop and floor wipers. Sadly not many of the weekend campers seemed to take notice of this. I don't think its an unreasonable request considering the standard of facilities. The pot washing facilities are under cover and of excellent order with plenty of hot water. There is a children's play area at the top of the site and a shop near the main entrance with a good selection of consumables and essentials. Hazel is more than happy to freeze your ice pack/s for a small fee which is better than having to hire some belonging to the site as some do! Maybe slightly longer opening hours but that is a very minor criticism. Overall, an excellent site that I would definitely visit again.

We are regulars to this campsite, it is run by a lovely lady called Hazel, who we have always found to be an absolute pleasure to deal with. We have never had any issues with the pitches, we generally camp at the far end of the site (near to the childrens play area). The shower block has recently been refurbished and is an absolute delight to have hot water and hairdryers. I have always felt comfortable to let my son wander about without anyone bothering him as there are so many 'regulars' coming back year after year and we all look out for each others kids, it really is a 'home from home site'. Corfe village is only a 10 minute walk, the castle is definitely worth a visit (National Trust), not forgetting Wareham, Studland and Swanage are all a very short distance away by car as is Poole.

I have stayed at this site for many years on and off and cant understand one particular review that I have just read . Bar b q's are allowed if they are not the disposable type and have been for a number of years. Open fires / camp fires are not, and probably with good reason. The site is reasonably quiet and has Corfe Castle 3/4 mile away and the New Inn pub 1/2 mile away. A small kiosk / shop is on site although not open all day , the toilets and showers are free and of a good standard and pitch fees are certainly amongst the cheaper. There is a noise curfew after 10 pm and as the site has no bar / clubhouse meaning you should get a good nights sleep (unless your partner snores). Overall this is a secluded and attractive site and in my well travelled opinion well worth a visit

I last visited this site 20 years ago and I am glad to say it has not changed apart from new wash room facilities which are excellent. On site shop open morning and evening. I was put in a overflow field not in the main area with the caravans which is fine by me. The main campsite is very sheltered by trees with electrical hook ups etc. site is as close to Corfe Castle as is possible take the left turn just before castle and hill. Plenty nice walks in the area I recommend Studland Nice beaches at Swanage and Studland. Close to Monkey world / Bovington Tank Museum / Dorchester, so plenty to do if wet Poole and Bournemouth close by a long drive but a ferry runs from Studland till 11pm only £2.80 so cheaper than fuel. Purbeck is a very beautiful unspoilt place Great campsite I will return but will not wait 20 years this time.

Excellent site. Small, quiet with good wash/shower facilities. Easy walk to Corfe (about 1 mile) and up onto Purbeck Hills. Great views from the field pitches. Friendly helpful staff. Many pitches are on a slope but plenty of reasonably flat ground is available.

Nice basic quiet site, ideal for couples/mature campers, not so good for kids. Very good washrooms with free showers, routinely cleaned every day. Small onsite shop that opens for a couple of hours each day ( very handy in the mornings if you fancy some bacon!) Some pitches can be on a slope, depends on how busy as to whether this will be a problem. The best thing in my opinion for this site is its location, you are in the shadows of Corfe castle, you have the great beaches of Studland just 10mins drive away - where you can also get the £2.80 ferry (Car price) over to bournemouth. If the wheather follows English traditions then the New Forest is less than an hour away for great walks etc.

I was a little dissapointed with this site. The toilet/shower facilities were excellent, that I cannot deny, but the site itself had very few decent pitches that were not occupied by statics. The only good spaces were in the open and the hookups would be way to far to connect to if you pitched there so not a lot of choice. There was a very steep gradient and we had extreme difficulty in pitching our tent despite the adjustable leg heights on the Rigi-Pod. I found my son in the early hours of the morning just about inside the back of our bedroom purely because the inner is pegged, this is how steep the gradient was. I struggled all night to stay on my lilo. We were unable to pin the unit down at the rear as it was so steep and didn't want the inner to touch the flysheet.
The site says that dogs are welcome but the owner was verbally abusive to us when our aged 12 year old Lab was sat on her bed just inside the porch snoozing and she insisted that she be on a lead! She practically demanded our pitch fees from us at 7am on the Sunday morning as if we were going to leave without paying. The policy here is if you turn up late they collect your pitch fees next morning, fair shout but I did not expect to be treated so badly. There are no camp fires or BBQ's allowed, even on raised bricks.
