Just got home from a two week break on this site and we found the whole site very good the showers and site were clean and all the staff friendly. Watch out for children on bikes. The nature trail is worth a try but watch for steep hills. The site we had was uneven so take blocks to level the caravan. The restaurant is more of a snack bar but the food is good and not too expensive. Well stocked shop for all the little things that you forget. Entertainment was good with kids stuff on every night. There is six in our party and we will return to this site in the future.

Read the reviews before we went and couldn't wait to see what the grumpy unhappy staff were like! However we encountered no problems in that department at all (although the lady at the shop by the swimming pool was a bit of an ogre)! The site has loads to do for kids and my son loved it here. You do need to book early for things though as very busy site. Only one negative comment and that was that it is a very big site, that gets very busy and we had trouble with a gang of yobs very late into night (gone 3 in morning before it stopped) and there was no warden on site at all. Things could have got very nasty - at one time there were loads of people out of tents and shouting and swearing going on for ages. I felt very unsafe and was most surprised and disappointed that a site that big didn't have a warden or phone number for such an incident.

Although the site was well maintained and brilliant for families due to the swim pool, club house, large shop etc the pitches were tiny. We stayed 2 nights and that was enough, it felt as if you were all crammed in and barely enough room for the car too! We had a good time but did not like being able to hear the conversation going on next door! All in all a great site is expensive and cramped.

The last time I was at this campsite was in 1983, so it was a flashback to return. Not a lot seems to have changed, although everything is a lot smaller! The staff were friendly, the site was empty of campers when we arrived and had the camp field to ourselves so plenty of room. The shop is well stocked, the toilets and showers etc were clean and the whole place tidy. We shall return as Cheddar is a great little place when theres not too many tourists. I can remember it long ago in high high season, and it was pandemonium. All in all this time tho, very agreeable. 8/10

Our second visit to this site, prices are a little expensive but facilities are good for families. Could do with a few more showers. Ideal base for visiting Weston-Super-Mare, Wells, and of course the caves at Cheddar and Wookey Hole. Site was full on this visit pitches, fair size pitches although I noticed tents were a little packed in ! Would visit again, nice for a long weekend break.

Being new to caravaning this is only our 5th visit to a site, and this has to be the worst so far. The staff were very un-friendly and sometimes quite rude. The toilets and shower blocks were dirty and not well managed. The pool area was very clean though the staff again very rude. The one thing to look out for is loads of kids flying around on bikes sometimes quite dangerous. Not normally a moaner but not very pleased at all and will not return

I have been visiting this site for about 12 years. On my return this year I couldn't believe the price increase since my last visit (2 years previous). I was disappointed that they have got rid of most of the animals and quiet parts of the site to make way for more pitches.
The new additions such as bmx track look good; it is a great site for kids. I felt £17 for 2 adults and a dog for 1 night with no electric rather expensive!

1st time camping pleased with site as a whole. Lots to keep kids entertained skate board park, bmx track for older kids, crazy golf, football etc. , 2 good play grounds , on and off site activities which I advise you book in advance.
We were in the front field which I was NOT so happy with, it had rained for a few days before and for the first 2 days we were there. The track around the field was a bog, cars sliding everywhere quite dangerous at times. Everywhere else had nice gravel roadways, so mud was not a problem. It was very noisy too in the front field(strawberry field ) Teenagers and people at the club house and loud traffic in the mornings. Just book early they also have a overflow field across the road didn't seem so muddy but loos on the main site which I will add were not too bad, bit muddy but the family rooms have a mop to clean them. It may not suit the quieter camper but if you have kids they will love it.
Club house entertainment average, drinks overpriced and a few out of date breezers were sent back. Shop well stocked. Staff seemed helpful enough, I have read that they are not a happy bunch. Did offer to move us (had a cancelation) but we couldnt be bothered to move the tent.
Generally a good base for Chedder which nobody should miss, as long as you dont want a quiet camping holiday. We will go back in a few yrs as kids loved it so much.

Staff very friendly and lots to do, nice and central for many locations, downside to the site is they cram too many people in and pitches not very good, a bit like sardines in a tin, lots of kids racing around on bikes so watch out also large gangs of teenager kids roaming around all night making lots of noise, we won't be going again

We went here in the first week of the school holidays and suprisingly it wasn't jam packed like we expected.
Firstly, the down points! They don't hold bookings over the phone if you choose to pay by cheque (which we did so that we only had to pay the deposit and not in full as we'd have had to on debit card). Due to weather forecast and being ready ahead of time, we decided to travel the evening before we were due to. Rang the site to see if they had space, which they did, but wouldn't guarantee our pitch for us until arrival, despite offering to pay over the phone there and then!
Fortunately, that's all the negatives out of the way!
This is by far the best site we have ever been on! We had a lovely pitch (for tent with electrical hook up), with all our requests granted! There is so much do do on site (we have a 3 year old and an 18 month old). Our 3 year old loved the adventure playground which is actually for the older children! Both of them loved the younger children's play area as well.
The swimming pool was warm, not hot, but a lot warmer than a lot of pools that claim to be heated! Due to the no shoes around the pool area rule, it is also lovely and clean - can't be faulted at all!
Always got prompt attention in reception and the shop. Didn't use the bar or catering facility at all. The shower blocks were spotlessly clean and the shared shower rooms (don't know official room title), have shower, basin and toilet and were ideal so we could all go to shower at once. The only downside was no baby changing facility in them, but you can't have everything! We did just about manage on the stool which pulls down from the wall. All the individual rooms had a squeegie so you could mop yourself out and leave them clean - excellent idea and worked really well!
Didn't use the freezer for ice blocks as we didn't take them, but definitely will in the future.
The grounds were kept clean and had a litter patrol every morning. Really can't fault the cleanliness of the site at all.
This is a site we envisage going back to for years and years because there is so much for all the family, right from our toddler who loved the macaw up to the teens with BMX tracks and skateboard ramps.
Feel really silly saying this, but we thought initially it was a little expensive (£22/night for us) compared to other sites we have used. However, you really do get what you pay for and we won't hesitate to return next year! In fact, we are more than likely going to return there camping and my mother is looking to book a static caravan on site for the same week, so all in all, a big thumbs up for Broadway House!
