Visited this sight for 2 weeks in a tent during August with husband and two children.

Big, clean and tidy site with wardens all over making sure everything is right.

Toilets and showers as clean as can be expected when people are tramping mud in all day. Never have to queue for a shower at the main block which is central.

Very good playground and crazy golf area which kids enjoyed.

The bar was OK but a little expensive and the food is definitely not home made. The pizzas were the frozen type with more toppings added to make them look home made. The curry I got was a ready meal which I had to ask them to reheat as the chicken wasn't anywhere near hot. Overpriced readymeals.

If you want really good food for a similar price try the Riverside pub with a fab garden and playground in Cheddar 2 miles down the road. Dont try the Bath Arms in Cheddar as worse than the bar.

Only other gripe is that there was a field just adjacent to the site where from 5pm every night off road motorbikes could be heard loudly revving their engines as they were doing some sort of motorcross until dusk. This was the noisiest site I've ever been on in four years of regular camping.

The swimming pool was a good facility.

The pitch size was very good, everyone big enough for a Montana 6 with front extension.

Wouldn't rule out returning to this site as it was a good base for exploring Somerset.

We came here with 150+ friends for the a weekend, we had a mix of tents, caravans and campers/motor homes.

We had part of the site away from the regular campers and as said before the site was very well laid out, with taps and electric hook-ups conveniently placed for each pitch.

The showers and toilets were very clean and the shop well stocked with every thing from gas, sweets, papers, toys to toiletries.

We didn't eat on the site but friends said the food was very good, the same with the pool.

We don't have young children any more but if we did this would be are 1st choice. It's set in a beautiful part of the country with some nice walks. Cheddar has some nice tea rooms and a modern supermarket.

If your looking for a quiet site this may not be for you in the school holidays or at weekend but the rest of the time it's a lovely, convenient and well maintained site.

I have given it 5 out of 10 for value because I thought it would be a little expensive if you just wanted it for a base but if you make full use of the facilities it probably is priced at the going rate.

Visited this site for a four night stay we arrived at 9am after a 4 hour drive and went straight to reception where we were shown a map of the site and asked where we would like to pitch,

We chose tinkers nook and was really surprised on the quality of the pitch it was surrounded on three sides with high hedges providing privacy and protection from the weather if needed. It also had its own supply of electric and its own supply of water.

The toilets were immaculate with plenty of hot water and were regularly cleaned, the outdoor pool was a blessing as the weather was really hot and it was a really pleasant area to sit.

The site had plenty to occupy children including adventure playground and skateboarding, mini golf and archery.

The nearby village of cheddar is very picturesque with a stream running through and plenty of cheese and cider shops, and tea rooms the caves are well worth a visit and there is a tour bus

All in all a great site and well worth the money I will return in September

I think I may have been with Jackie at the same event!

We had a Christmas event here in June. It had been booked well in advance and I was impressed with the level of attention when we booked in. We paid probably around 1/2 the list price which is just as well because it isn't the cheapest site. On the plus side, the facilities are good and there is plenty to do on site. I'm sure my eldest Son had wished he'd come with us for the BMXing facilities in particular.

On arrival, we were met by one of the wardens who, although had already shut, was happy to help us find out where we were supposed to be. As this site has rules about being pre-paid, it was nice to not have to worry about paying up.

I think if you're 'Glamping' then this is the site for you. The pitches are well marked and you have your own 'area'. The different fields all have something to offer and the toilet facilities are amongst the best we have seen.

On the downside (apart from price), we were disappointed with the standard of the pub. The food was very average and beer was expensive. We are fortunate enough to have our own facilities so we didn't need to use these a lot.

Overall, a great site and I believe we are returning next year. I will be very much looking forward to it.

Positive points: A lovely place. The whole site itself, plus the toilets, showers, washing up facilities and even the outdoor swimming pool are really clean whatever time of the day they were used (the pool operates a strict 'no shoes' policy at all times, which really makes a difference to the cleanliness). Lots of refuge recycling facilities and lots to do for the kids: BMX track, skateboard and scooter park, basketball courts, brilliant playpark (with swings, slides, trampolines, etc. ), and even crazy golf. In addition, there's some lovely wooded areas to walk around and lots of grassy areas for playing cricket, football, etc.

Negative points: aside from the English weather (which can't really be helped), the site is on a very slight incline, which can be tiring if you're walking back and forth a lot with kids, but it's not a major problem. The staff (although not rude, impolite or aloof) are not overly friendly, but again, this doesn't present a major problem.

Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this site, and the fact that we have been to stay here five times in the last three years and making our sixth stay, next month, I think proves that it's a fantastic, family oriented place to camp.

A large site with full range of facilities. We were visiting without children, mid week and term time so the site was very quiet.

Each pitch was clearly marked and the individual pitches afforded privacy and sufficient space.

The toilets and showers were good and were very clean.

The wash up areas and I used two different areas were not clean! This was the only negative though. If you're not needing the use of the many facilities they offer, then you may find it rather pricey!

£35. 00 for the night for the camper, we weren't using ehu, but I guess that was included in the price.

I would recommend this site if you have children and wish for them to have a great range of on site facilities.

Many years ago we used to go camping at Broadway House, then we had kids so we got a small touring caravan, but when we started going on packed tours abroad and sold our little van.

My husband retired last year and the kids have all grown up and left home, so we decided to get another caravan.

The First site we thought of was Broadway House, it was our first time with the new van so we were not too clear with all the new things we had to do! and as the site is not too far away from where we live we thought it would be a good place to start.

The site was very busy, quite noisy, full of kids so if you are looking for a quiet place then I don't think this one will suit.

The site was well maintained, with a shop, club, and take away, pool, cafe, all of which were very good, and lots of activities for all the family to do.

So if your looking for a action packed site for you or the kids then Broadway House is the place!

We visited broadway house for Easter weekend. We were very lucky with the weather it was great.

My son took his bike along and loved the bmx track and he also loved the pool and children's play area.

We visited the bar a couple of nights but didn't eat there but the food did look nice

We went to cheddar which was lovely and brean sands where the children enjoyed spending there money.

The main shower block was clean but the little shower and toilet block was a bit dirty it needed cleaning more as the toilets got blocked a lot.

The only real down side to this park was the noise at night which went on some nights till 1 am in the morning, other than that a good site in a good spot and may return one day

Just got back from this campsite, had a great two nights in our tent.

Staff were brilliant and helpful, park, toilets and showers were very clean and fresh. The swimming pool and kids play areas were very much appreciated and well used by our kids.

Our only criticism was the club, the layout was poor and could have been so much better. We would have preferred music for the kids before the main entertainer, instead all we got was the TV.

We found the drinks to be very expensive for what we had.

But overall very happy with the camp.

Having just bought a new Outwell Montana 6 we thought we'd make the huge 9 mile trip from our home to try it out at Broadway House. We'd been before, probably 8 or 9 years ago before the little one was born and it was fantastic back then.

So, was it still going to be as good I wondered.

It had certainly grown. What was overgrown fields at the back were now levelled, hedged, serviced pitches much like the rest of the site. New lodges were stood where we'd camped before and the reception was now the shop.

We used the outdoor pool for the first time and loved it. It was warm and had a nice feel to it. The lifeguards were extremely vigilant, regularly berating a large fella and his teenage boys for bombing, lifting etc. Made me feel far less concerned for the safety of my little girl and her rubber ring. That said I would have liked to have grabbed a beer (and plastic glass maybe?) from the nearby bar and had it by the pool but I wasn't allowed.

My 7 year old loved the big outdoor play area. Lots of big swings - the massive circular jobbies that grownups can also use (!) and up-to-date climbing apparatus.

The toilet blocks were super (or the TOLIETS as the sign says) and the showers were actually a touch TOO hot.

The bar area is a decent size and has a good range of beers. I thought £3.80 for a San Miguel was a bit steep though. I found the bar staff to be extremely accommodating. Happily putting 'final score' on for me to catch the footy results one afternoon.

In short it's a cracking site with great facilities in a lovely location. It's not cheap, but it's 5 star (!) and low and behold you get what you pay for. Broadway house was always a benchmark for me and I'm sure will continue to be, as hopefully we make damn good use of the new tent through 2011.

Oh and one more thing, that BMX track. It was the mother-of-all back in the day and didn't appear to have changed much. Blinding if BMX is your thing.
