Stayed for 3 nights with 2 other families and as a whole we had a good time at this site. Good points Lots to do on the site - BMX track is excellent (ensure you bring safety helmets), adventure playground, swimming pool. There is some excellent walks from the site. 10 minute walk up the hill from the site is a look at point which gives you an excellent view of the surrounding area. Toilet & washing area is clean On site night entertainment. Well stocked shop Not so good points The bar prices varied quite a lot and seemed a bit expensive for soft drinks Lady in the shop & at the swimming pool area failed to smile once while we were there. Would be nice to have if they had a welcoming approach. When I arrived I got charged for my trailer!, don't understand the logic in that. Pitch sizes are small and very close together. Watch out for the gravel roads, looks like the rain they had previously created small channels within the road which became a trip hazard. The roads at the upper end of the camp site were not lit which made them more of a hazard.

Facilities: lots of facilities for older children. Showers were hot and powerful, but too small if you have to take a small child in with you. The family bathrooms were not available. The shop was well stocked, but very expensive, £1.06 for a small tin of soup! The swimming pool was exceptionally clean and was great for toddlers.
Location: beautiful location with trees, countryside and for us anyway, cloudless blue skies.
Pitches: some small, some large, but all exceptionally close together. Hedges growing between you do not mask the conversation of next door! Caravans and tents on the same field, but with no extra width for manoeuvring. Some people couldn't even park their cars next to their tents/caravans and so parked on the road. Nobody enforced their so-called terms and conditions. Having the water and electric hook-up right on the pitch was really useful and certainly made our stay easier.
Pricing: The initial price per pitch is really good value, however, BEWARE the extra charges for dogs, adults, children aged 14 who are charged as adults, but cannot be left on site as adults or attend the pool by themselves, gazebos, trailers, extra cars, utility tents. These are ALL charged extra, even if you are only filling the one pitch. Also the fact that the pitches do not conform to the camping and caravanning club recommended 6 metres distance between them, means that the park feels cramped and any view from your sun chair is obscured by the rest of the fields cars and tents.
Overall: the site is situated beautifully in the Cheddar countryside and near all tourist attractions. The actual site and facilities were good and cater for tourists well.

Been to this site 2 years ago and really enjoyed it but this time the grounds to the site were very scruffy and the big showers and toilets were only open on the weekend and this is july. Our pitch was a premiere pitch wish we just had got an normal electric as our caravan is 26 feet in length paid more for this pitch but was smaller and if it rains we was 6 inches deep in muddy water, The lady owner to the site would benefit by telling herself and her staff that its people like us who keep her in work because they are NOT the most friendliest of people, other than that its ok.

We stayed here for 14 nights on a premier pitch. Hedged both sides with tap, drain electric hook up and aerial point. The pitch wasn't hard standing as originally requested, apparently its first come first served. The pitch was badly worn and very soft partially due to the weather. (where is global warming and droughts when you need them). The hard standing pitches also suffered from the extreme weather with the awning pads being soft grass. Toilet facilities were plentiful and unlimited hot water to the showers. Cleanliness was adequate. Entertainment was on every night with the kids lolly pop disco approx every other night and the kids bingo was great for our clan. Takeaway and eat in food was not restaurant grade more cafe style opening at 8am for breakfast, lunch and then evening. The prices were respectable and quality OK. The bar prices were usual for camp sites. The shop was open for a minimum of 12hrs and has an extensive stock of goods along with food wine and beer. In fact probably the best campsite shop we have visited in 18 years of camping / caravanning. Other on-site facilities to use are the outdoor activities run by Ian and the team of Aardvark Endeavours. These are excellent and aimed at people of all abilities. See his website. Our kids wont go on roller coasters at theme parks but they had no problem under their professional tuition with climbing and abseiling 50ft rock faces dangling from a piece of rope or flying along a 150ft zip wire etc etc. Book early though to avoid disappointment. Off site Cheddar is approx 25 minute stroll/walk. A visit to Rich's Cider Cider farm is a must (just outside Mark). This is a large site but we didn't experience the usual noise late at night from people shouting and arguing after one to many drinks which was pleasant. After a quick visit to other sites in the area for families this has to be the best one to visit and a credit to their hard work. Would we visit again? YES

Took the kids to this site for half term, it was our second visit as we dropped in for an impromptu weekend and loved the site. The full facilities were open and available. We didn't use the restaurant, but did use the entertainment which was cheerful and bright without being overbearing- exactly what the kids liked. The pool was popular although we didn't use it, not huge but adequate. the pixie park was a nice addition with the sandpit, great for our 3 year old, whilst the boys loved the adventure playground- by far the best campsite one we have encountered. We made a list of sites we liked last year (as our kids have special needs site location matters to us) and the site was happy to oblige. Yes there are some small pitches at this site- there are also loads of big ones if you ask for them! We have an Ontario 8 and there was plenty of space on our pitch. The facilities were always clean, indeed the showers were amazing!. Washing up area was lovely and well kept too. Overall we rate this site as an exceptionally good one and we will return again. Its especially good for families (they have activity sessions which cater for teenagers such as caving) but there are plenty of quieter areas for couples available. Next year we hope to take our parents and family to celebrate Mum's 6oth- we wouldn't do that if it wasn't a good site. Oh and the people in the shop- might not have been the same people perhaps, but they were tolerant even of our eldest having a mini meltdown and cartwheeling down the steps! No problems there- quite the reverse.

Just spent 4 nights at this site, fantastic for the kids, lots for them to do, although the site is very big and you need to keep your eye on where and what the kids are doing (I found a lost 4 year old and had to take him to reception). Can't comment on the showers or toilets as we used our own. We were in field 7 on a pitch with a 26' caravan and a 3mtr awning which only just fit, you had to squeeze down the sides of the awning to peg it, but saying that there were mutch larger pitches in different fields. The site is very close to Cheddar about a 5 minute drive where there are plenty shops, cafe's and a couple of pubs to eat in and it's a lovely place to visit. Make sure you take a helmet for the kids as they are not allowed on the BMX track without one. Wouldn't call it a relaxing site but great if you want an action holiday, would visit again.

We enjoyed the last week of the Easter hols at Broadway House and was interested to read other people's views. On balance I'd agree with much of what has been said. I had no problem with the staff in the shop or with our booking. We were told that all facilities may not be open, so we can't really complain, but the site was pretty busy for the whole week so I'm sure it would have paid to open the bar/food in the evenings - shame. Ditto the outdoor pursuits activities. The pitches were quite small - only just enough room - but we have a large twin-wheeler and big awning and managed to get it all in, without needing to have the drawbar in the road (as reported by others). Our fully-serviced pitch was very convenient - water, waste and TV all easily accessible. Showers were OK but the family shower rooms were always locked, which was a pity. The small outdoor pool was quite busy on the hottest day. My biggest gripe was the dust, which I recognise was because of the dry weather. The campsite roads had been re-surfaced with some cheap grey gravel scalpings that dusted very badly and coated everything - bikes and especially kids! The play areas were good and the older ones loved riding on the BMX track. The nature walks need some attention though - a bit disappointing - lots of dumped rubbish and broken glass around. Also beware the Pixie walk - very steep hills which are too difficult for little ones (and all the gnomes have been vandalised/smashed anyway). Overall this is a good site with plenty for the kids. We'll go back there, mainly for its convenient location.

Just returned from a week's break and thought I'd read the reviews to see if they tied in with our thoughts. I agree with some points, and disagree with others. The man in the shop was quite miserable and not very children friendly. We were told on booking that all facilities may not be open, yet there were signs up stating the bar and resturant would be open but it wasn't. The BMX's to hire were never available and there was no stated opening times for the shop. They also seemed to charge what they felt like in the shop, my daughter bought the same things three times and got charged three different prices! However we had a pitch near the pixie park which was great for the younger children, I was with my children age 4 and 9 and friends with their children 3 and 6. The larger park was fantastic but would not recomend younger children going without an adult due to the number of teenagers present. Overall this was a great site with plenty to amuse the kids, not as many animals as expected and defiantly not within walking distance of a pub as we were advised on booking - well not with small children! The showers were ok, but I have stayed at 4/5 star sites before and they were of a much higher standards, the family shower rooms were also locked and unaccessable. Would I go back? Probably but not if my husband had his way.

This was our first time on this site, ideal if you have children. All our children have now grown up so it is just me and the wife. If you are like us and like a nice relaxing holiday “do not visit this site” the pitches are very small to say the least. The tow hitch on my caravan was sticking out in the road, the rear of the caravan was in the hedge, my van has a shipping length of 23’10”. If I had erected an awning I would not of been able to park my car, as it was I parked next to my van which left a 4’ gap between my van and car. The guy opposite had his van parallel with the road with side of his van up against the hedge, when he erected his awning it protruded out onto the road. He had no room to park his car. The dust from the on site roads was terrible it covered everything, it was very noisy till quite late from people in there awnings and from children around the site. There are not enough amenities for the number of people crammed onto the site, but what there is kept very clean. The play area for the children is superb. I can appreciate that everyone has different tastes, but we have been caravanning for many years and have gone from taking three children to going on our own now, but it appears that this site is just interested in getting as much money as possible from of as many pitches as possible. This fact lets a very nice site down in a very nice part of the country.

This was our first time camping we were on the paddock pitches designed for two tents which were alot more spacious. Clean friendly site with loads for the kids to do. I would book early before arrival for the activities such a caving and cyaking as they were all full when we arrived which was a huge disappointment and it doesmt warn you of this at time of booking the pitch. I wouldnt have wanted to be in the lower fields as there was alot of noise in those fields when the clubhouse kicked out at 1am. Quiet time is meant to be 10 pm til 8am but this was never enforced. However if you choose your pitch carefully (some were very small) this is a fantastic site for kids and I would go there again
