The site is really nice with pitches separated by hedges and all had electric hook up and water tap to each tent pitch. The restaurant served bar snack type meals in the evening which we thought were excellent value for money if you are happy with burgers, chilli, scampi etc. Childrens meals included drink and ice cream. All staff were polite, helpful, and would go out of their way for you.Local ciders on sale - excellent.
Showers always hot, occasional queues, but only one or two people before you.Toilets clean and always seemed to have supplies of soap, loo paper etc.Would hope they may consider another shower /toilet block near to top field (Gin Gan Ghooli Field) as we had to drive to loo if desperate as it was quite a walk away.
Surrounding area lovely.Wookey Hole, Cheddar gorge and caves make good days out.
My only complaint would be that one of our requirements was for there to be wifi connection which site advertises as being available - when we asked about connection receptionist said they did not have any!

We are just back from a week-long holiday at this wonderful campsite.
With 2 playgrounds (one for 'little-uns' and another for 'big-uns'), a skate track, a football area, a BMX biking track, a miniature golf course, a heated pool (which really is heated and the toddler pool is warmer than the deeper pool), a tennis court (so my kids told me!) and many walking trails around the site there was lots for our children to do and they were very happy here.
The plots are surrounded on 3 sides by hedges, offering families a little privacy.
The staff are incredibly friendly. The toilets and showers are very clean and well maintained(with family shower rooms and shower rooms for holiday makers with disabilities).
There is a well equipped laundry (3pounds/small load, 4 pounds/large load), a small shop and a pub on site which offers entertainment on some evenings.
There is in fact so much that we didn't have time to look at everything during this stay - it is definitely a site we will be returning to on a future holiday.

We stayed here in May 2009 for 5 days. The park itself is well located and easy to get to. The facilities were excellent for a family of four, and the pitches with the hedges between offered an excellent location. The surrounding area is superb, with lots to do and see, Chedder Gorge, Wookey Hole, Weston Super Mare. The list goes on.
There is a well stocked shop selling food, toiletries, camping essentials, even some caravan parts. A nice friendly club and bar area, along with some good standard shower and toilet facilities.
If you're after a quiet week then this isn't the place for you, but if you have kids, then it's perfect. The pool is a must, even if it's raining !.
The only thing I can think to write as an improvement would be to update the decor in the bar/club. It was a bit dated, but didn't effect the taste of the local cider :-)

This is a lovely site that is ideally situated for cheddar and all that the surrounding areas offer. Pitches are level and most seem to have bushes to separate them so you do have your own little spot, which is nice but that means you don't have a lot of room for the kids to play and they end up having to play in the road.
Having said that there is a fab play area here that the kids love.
The Entertainment in the club needs a little attention as there was nothing in the way of kids club, just a dj. The club itself was very quiet but I think that was just because of the entertainment.
We would use this site again but I think it is a little expensive. Overall nice site.

Arrived on Wednesday of half term week in the pouring rain! Had a look around the site and asked if we could change the pitch they had allocated us. Staff could not have been friendlier and offered us a range of pitches to choose from. Loved the lay out of the site. Showers and toilets nice and clean. Dogs welcome and dog walking area. Shop was good and the bar was also good, food was well priced. Two teenagers with us enjoyed the bmx ramps and pool. Walked into cheddar gorge for the caves and cliff top walk which was excellent! Although the walk was treacherous due to no pavements. Cheddar Gorge is superb. We did the caves, cliff top walk, museum, ate at the local pubs and drank the local cider. We went to nearby Burnham on sea beaches and took the dogs who were welcome everywhere. The places we visited were all clean, well run and great fun! It was ideal with two teenagers, with lots to do and see.
We would definitely stay at this site again, although it was £42 per night for our tent 4 of us and 2 dogs it included free showers, pool and EHU. We enjoyed the site and surrounding area so much we stayed an extra night.

Didn't get off to the greatest of starts as we arrived in the pouring rain and were allocated a pitch with a large tent already there despite the site appearing only half full.
Reception staff were really helpful and gave us a choice of a few other pitches after giving them the approx size of our tent (this was the first time use of a new tent- a 6-berth tunnel tent).
All the pitches suggested were really small but we picked the biggest and found that the tent only just fitted with little room to peg out guy ropes and no room at the front to add our sun canopy. Having wandered round the rest of the site during the stay this appeared to be the case for most of the pitches. Because of the terracing to level the pitch, the ground was rocky and extremely difficult to hammer in pegs - we wrecked nearly a bag full!
However, the site facilities were excellent with clean toilets and hot showers. Had fantastic weather for the rest of the week and made full use of the large play area with the kids and a very good pool. There were lots of interesting walks and a BMX track which looked great. Pretty central for beaches at Weston and Burnham and also Cheddar Gorge & the Mendips.
Enjoyed the stay but not sure if we would go back because of finding a big enough pitch for the tent but would recommend the site to anyone with a caravan or motor home.

We visited this site for two nights to try out our new caravan, not too far from home. The site is really easy to get to and well laid out. It is huge though and personally I don't think it would be my cup-of-tea at full capacity. We tried one of the new super-pitches, which was lovely because you had a grassed area in addition to your hardstanding area for your caravan, awning and car. Quite pricey though for low season at £52 for two nights (2 adults, 1 baby, 1 dog).
Being March it was fairly quiet, although they were showing the rugby in the bar area (can't comment as never went). Easy access to Cheddar and the Gorge and the other campers on site were really friendly.
We have just two niggles about this site really: really surprised to see there was no baby-bathroom, which for us is a massive issue and also there were kids repeatedly playing football and using bad language around the caravans (not their own I might add) and considering the site was quite empty, they could have found space to play in. But obviously this isn't the site's fault! I was also disappointed with the stock (or lack of) in the shop but again, it was low-season but not even any fresh milk. Quite a nice site, but we won't be rushing back there.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this camp site for the bank holiday weekend. I would give the site a 10/10 absolutely fantastic. Our party consisted of 5 adults one being a wheelchair user, 3 children under 5 years and two dogs. We had fantastic weather which is always a bonus. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The site was kept clean.
The only negative was the disabled shower was too cold but when you think how many people were at the site for the weekend I suppose this is to be expected.
We will definitely be back. I would recommend this site to anybody.
A little more expensive than most campsites but you are obviously paying for the facilities.

Great site great friendly staff made you feel in the holiday mood. Toilet / shower blocks smelt fresh every time you went in, very clean plenty of hot water & loo roll Bar / restaurant again greeted by friendly staff and the food was excellent, good choice and didn't have to wait long Lots to do for the kids, bmx & skateboard tracks, nature walks and parks to name but a few. A little bit on the pricey side but we enjoyed it and we will certainly be back and recommend to our friends.
