Just got back from a 4 day break at broadway house and what a brilliant 4 days it was. Cannot fault the site at all, very clean very friendly and loads to do on and off site. 25 mins off M5 really easy to find and get to. In walking distance of Cheddar (about 20 mins criss crossing along a country lane be careful lots of traffic). We had 6 kids in our group ranging from 5 to 15 and they all had fun on the adventure park (so did the adults lol). If you fancy the bmx track take your own bike cos online it says they hire them but they don't anymore, think that was the only complaint all the time I was there. Overall very good value for money, shall definitely be booking again. Night time entertainment was ok for kids and adults too.

My partner and I stayed here for one night in March. As there were no other tents (but several motor homes) we were able to chose from a large selection of pitches, which was good for us as we have quite a large tent (approx 8m x 7m) and it wouldn't have fit on many of the pitches. The lay out of the pitches were good, a small gravel road ran in between pitches which meant that some pitches had quite a lot of gravel on them.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was open between 7pm-11pm but no meals available. The shop was partially stocked and sold lots of camping supplies including gas bottles.
The toilets and showers were clean and the hot water was plentiful.
I thought the price was quite expensive; £17.00 for 2 adults, 1 car, no electric hook up and in March. However, when all of the facilities are open I would think this a great site.
The surrounding area was good, only a short drive from cheddar and the caves.

We went for a birthday celebration (Sept 2/3/4th)and had 3 tent pitches, a motorhome and a static caravan for 3 nights with 10 people.
The pitches are lovely with mature shrubs to screen noise and I must say it did seem quieter than most sites we have stayed at that are this size.
The static caravan was in reasonable condition and my parents were happy with the price/arrangements as they were also allowed a dog.
The campsite was really lovely - a little animal farm and koi fish pond, a massive bmx track (although we didn't use bikes - just ran around!) a swimming pool (chilly but very refreshing - and we were the only ones in it!), a great shop, nature walks and more!
The toilet blocks were reasonably clean and the showers always were warm/hot (infested with midges unfortunately - although we had fun with our bug sapper)
The bar was well stocked and friendly (no ents when we were though). The breakfasts were also very good and average price.
Would recommend this site to anyone - its not cheap, but there's a lot for your money actually.
If you want a great meal out in a beautiful village with a fantastic tudor house (museum) and quaint square try Axbridge down the road and the Lamb Inn.
For a great day out other than Cheddar I can highly recommend a drive on the beach at Brean Sands (Yes.You can drive your car on the beautiful flat beach - no swimming there though.Drive to the far end(towards the peninsula)and you will find the sliproad onto the beach (about £1.50). It's also great fun watching the beachguard chasing the boy-racers up the beach who are breaking the speed limit or doing donuts! or the land surfers racing their rigs up and down. There are the usual cheesy amusement parks and eateries to try out, but the beach almost seems separate to these activities due to the sand dunes and it's natural beauty.

Ok this is the 2nd year we have stayed at this campsite and this time took my wife's Uncle and his son with us (2 Pitches).
We asked if you would have the same pitches as the year before and they were happy to oblige.
The Campsite IS under new managment as from about a month ago July 2008 so do not how much they are going to change.
This Year we got washed out by the rain but did not stop us as there is plenty to do.
Many People have complained about the Lady who checks people for there pool pass when entering the pool but if you smile and say 'hi how are you' she will give you a lovely smile back and she will talk. And the other staff are also lovey some are miserable but most are very pleasant and helpfull(especially the bar staff)
This year they have introduced a new method of enter/exit the site there are cameras to check your Number Plate on your car (this can be a PAIN) because they say its manned but some times you could be waiting there for 5 mins or so ( I had to send someone in the to office to push the button to let us in/out.
As usual the toilets and showers were kept clean and tidy even the Family showers.
I counted there are 8 Family showers and 1 disabled shower that I could see
The park itself was clean and tidy and they have introduced recycling bins and plenty of places to bin your rubbish.
Night time entertainment as usual was Great with tommo(John) keeping the Children for hours while the adults can have a nice sit down and a drink for a bit untill your children get you to dance (for a sweetie)my daughter draged my off a pool game to dance. This year we even had International Mouse Racing (that was alot of fun!)
Ok a few things to do in the park as I know of:
BMX Track (helmet a must)
Adventure Playground (would say over 8 yrs)
Skate Board Park
Crazy Golf (Depostit Required)
Knock-About Tennis
BasketBall
5-A-Sde Football
Pixie Play Area (For the Younger ones)
Nature Trail
Dog Walk
Table Tennis (Deposit Required)
2 Pool tables (Deposit Required)
There is not much room where the pool tables are and you maybe bumping into other people trying to play.
1 Moan I have is watch some of the childrens Language (I had to ask some of the children to stop what they were saying as I had my little ones around)
I had better stop now sorry for going on! we are going to go back next year so if much changes I will let you know
Other wise great site.

Decided to visit this site for a weekend break with a group of 3 other families - 14 of us in total. Overall we were reasonably impressed by the standard facilities, altough the females in our party were not impressed by the cleanliness of the toilet blocks with blood smeared on the sinks and the toilets almost continually blocked.
The shop seemed to be well stocked with the basics and the facilities for the children - pool, skate park, 5 a side pitch, bmx track, play park were excellent. The extensive nature of the childrens facilities brought there own problems with gangs of children roaming the campsite from early morning to extremely late at night, some riding bikes at breakneck speed. The park appears to have a 10:00 quiet policy but it was not enforced during our stay - very noisy even past midnight.
The proximity of the pitches was also a concern. Despite the excellent way some of the pitches were divided by hedges and natural barriers many seemed to be crammed in. We had a serviced pitch and were less than 5 feet from our (noisy)neighbours.
A visit to the Cheddar caves is worth a day out but it is expensive for a family. Try the local ciders - excellent if not potent!
Overall the site had good facilities and the staff were pleasant but it was far too noisy and overcrowded for us to return in peak times.

We stayed here twice once for 6 nights then returned 4 days later for 4 nights.
The 1st stay was on field 4 premier pitch which has hedge screening on all sides-nice touch & quite close to the showers.
The second visit was on field 8 right at the rear of the site, this was slightly more open than field 4 but with really nice views.
There is a main drag through the centre of the site which is used by cars etc & returning club house punters so avoid any of the pitches that line this road!
The showers/toilets were cleaned well but then misused by some which is a shame really but still thats whats sets us apart ea.
The cleaner did tell me he has seen it all.
The entrance & exit barriers are a right pain as they work on your car number plate recognition.
They only opened twice for us so all other times we had to get out of the car & go into the shop or Club house (which is full at night) to ask for it to be lifted which is nice when you have your takeaway going cold in the car.
Cheddar is about one & a half mile away on a busy road from Broadway House but a walk or drive through the Gorge is a must!
We will return to Broadway house as it was a pleasant stay both times.
We did have a lot of rain but this didn't affect the site as it had good drainage.
Also can I say that the Security guy who is mentally challenged left all the other staff standing. He looked after us all & the site--TOP MAN!
~~~~~~~~~~~~GOOD POINTS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Private & marked out pitches most with hedges.
Some good views.
Most pitches had electric & water.
Great BMX track & Skate park.
Really great site for kids!
~~~~~~~~~~~~BAD POINTS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The entrance & exit barriers (see note above).
Messy toilets though not a fault of broadway.
Noisy people returning from the club house late.

Visited site for two nights. Toilets clean and tidy showers free. We were in field 9 tents no EHU, pitches were generous and each pitch seperated by a small fence, no lights in this field or toilets, a short walk to these, not to far but far enough to make sure you dont need to go in the dark.
Two donkeys in field next to ours and toddler really loved this. The campsite has an outdoor pool, although it says heated was freezing, but great on warm days. Kids really enjoyed large adventure playground, walks around the woods. Bike track and bike hire great although I thought a little expensive at £5 an hour for bikes especially when kids want to play on these all day so take your own. Adventure sports( climbing, caving etc) offered at extra costs, crazy golf £1 a go, skatepark free. Pub was great, food fine not gourmet but nice, basic. Kids enjoyed the dj he really got them all envolved. Small area with tv and 2 pool tables.
Lots to visit in surrounding area recommend a visit to Cheddar, really enjoyed this, near to Weston Super Mare. Fishing just opposite campsite. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and are planning to go back again. But getting a pitch nearer toilets most of these have lights at end of pitches. Shop, good supply and choice of foods and camping equipment prices in shop reasonable. Pub prices no dearer than any holiday place and they didnt seem to mind if kids bought in pop from shop.
Now the down side the staff, maybe its just me but they seemed so slow at everything they did and I dont think I saw any of them smile although they had good manners. The price cost us £34 a night for two adults, 1 teenage son, two children and a toddler. Thought this a little pricey, they charge per pitch £14 No EHU £19 with EHU, but then charge per person aswell £5 adult (15 and over) and £2 per child. So overall a good place to stay and if the weather nice you dont need to leave csampsite with plenty of walks and activities.

A very lively site and great for families. We found the check in to be slow and rather cold. The site itself is fairly well maintained and the pitches are of a reasonable size with gentle slopes. The toilet facilities are adequate but require a little more cleaning. We were surprised that the main shop and the swimming pool shop sold out of the basics very early during the weekend and the bar ran out of children's drinks on the Saturday night. We thought that the charge of £93 for three nights a little on the high side as the entertainment was at best amateurish although very friendly.
We understand that the owners are fairly new and I would recommend that they train their staff to be a little more friendly as after all they have a lovely site with loads to do so smile and be happy.
Will we go back? Yes because I am sure the owners will improve what is a lovely site.

Arrived here only to be pitched on a tent site where we could hardly squeeze our large caravan on to, let alone awning and car! Had to go to reception where they agreed to change our pitch (we had paid alot of money anyway!) and we ended up on the slopiest and tiniest pitch ever! We had difficulty levelling our caravan so couldnt put up our awning anyway (and we had paid extra for it) so we were not amused! Shame because overall the site is quite lovely - just a pity about the pitches really.
We didnt take the children this time, which was a pity as they would have loved this site - so much to do!
Dog walk was interesting - all through woods where we could all explore, and plenty big enough to let off steam.
On our last day we ended up leaving earlier than we wanted as there was a power cut which lasted a few hours.
I suppose I would recommend this site to people who had smaller caravans/tents though - its just not a practical site for the larger unit! Just be prepared to pay premium prices as you pay for all your extras which can work out expensive.

Stayed for a weekend, 2 nights, with a group of friends, 6 families 13 children (ages ranged from 2-9) in total.
Had fantastic weather which always helps. Pitch was a little sloping but nothing too bad and have been on worse!
Kids liked the skateboard park on their scooters. Swimming pool was heated and kids made great use of this. Play park was fantastic and kids spent a lot of energy here.
Showers were hot and clean although there was only 3 sinks in block we used and was very fustrating when you only needed to wash hands and people were preening in front of them!
The only thing that got me was that the staff were a bit miserable. Doesnt take much to have a smile and be pleasant.
I would visit this site again but not in peak time. It's a big park and I feel that it would be far too busy for us.
