Went for the BH weekend very pleasant site facilities and the hedged in pitches were excellent,
this was our first time with an electric hook up, how did we ever cope before and to have a tap on the pitch absolute luxury.
Showers and toilets were clean and in good order.
A minus point, it could do with the 10 pm noise rule being patrolled by a warden
overall very happy with our stay and would return

We went to broadway house in august and we really enjoyed it. The good sides were the bmx track and children's play area with a small bar so you can have a drink why watching the children play. Also my son loved the pool and crazy golf and he liked to spend his money in the shop.
We went for a day out in cheddar and that was bril and would strong recommend it. There are plenty of nice places to eat in cheddar itself.
The only downsides were the shower unit they were not very clean and most of the toilets were blocked. The food in the club was also not very good we only eat there the once and decided to bbq the rest of our stay or eat in cheddar. It was also very noisy at night.
We are going back at easter and looking forward to it, just hope they have cleaned the toilets by then.

Picked this site purely for the BMX track for the kids and were certainly not let down.
We had a fully serviced pitch - the newer ones on the first row- these were superb.
A large site and in our opinion well maintained and kept, friendly staff etc.
We are not for the pub and club, so did not go to the restaurant/bar, but it certainly did not disturb us at all during our weeks stay, as it seemed to be quite empty.
Swimming pool was good and a welcome break.
So much to do out and about Cheddar
Will revisit - although a good hike from Aberdeen!

This was our 2nd visit to this site. When we visited 2 yrs ago we loved it.
The old toilet block needs updating and even the newer block looks tired, in need of a good clean & was often without toilet paper. The shop had less to offer than before & the holiday activities that used to be run ie; archery, rock climbing etc didn't seem to happen anymore. There did seem to be a lot of noisy children around late at night & many more tents than tourers. The laundry was dirty & our pitch was quite small for a tourer, awning and car.
The BMX track, pool & adventure play area however remained a huge hit with the boys (13 & 10) & staff are still friendly and helpful.
The area around the site is beautiful with some lovely, if a little steep, dog walks and views.

A nice site with decent size pitches and privacy hedges.
Toilet and showers were good.
Although we didn't use the swimming pool it looked really great I would love to go back and try in warmer weather.
Close to Cheddar Gorge but not close enough to walk. Cheddar Gorge is a lovely town and the caves ae well worth a visit. Cheddar cheese co very expensive try some of the other lovely shops in the area.
Entertainment not very good.
Bar and food on site that were reasonable.
I would definitely go back to this site

First visit to Broadway House, and we've already booked to return.
We had a 'girlie' weekend, my friend, myself and our two 13 year old daughters. It was great.
The toilet / shower blocks were kept very clean, as were the bar / restaurant and pool areas.
Having two teenage girls with us, we hardly saw them unless they were hungry ! They spent much of the time in the skatepark, adventure playground and of course the games room and football pitch and they even ventured into the lovely pool.
As we had booked in for tent with no electric, we were a little distance from the toilet blocks (we were in Piddle Patch. Mmm lovely name for what is a fantastic meadow) but it wasn't a hassle you just have to walk fast or leave earlier.
We ate at the bar / restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was better on the Saturday, but well priced both nights and the service was good from both bar staff and waitresses (even though they forgot our dessert order, which was soon sorted)
The staff in reception were extremely busy the afternoon we booked in, but they were so professional and took everything in thier stride, they were lovely. Well Done ***
Everyone that we met staff wise were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, oh and the freezer facility for ice blocks was an extra added bonus.

Just come back from visit - first week of summer hols - expected it to be much busier but was surprised - firstly - visited with our three children - 7,10,12 - so mixture of ages - but this site did please all of them - pool was a hit with the youngest and was never busy when we visited - bmx bike track big hit with older two - who are both boys.
However, I would like to point out that bmx bike track is what it says and was much larger than I thought - definitely need helmet and if poss protective gear - lots of signs stating adult supervision needed but I noted many children on their own there. Adventure playground again really good - esp older children - there is a smaller playground for younger children but did not have much on it - pitches do very but all were quite large - lots of water points
Toilets - never busy - clean - if a little dated - shop well stocked - but if you want to do big shop there is a Tesco express - only about 10 mins down the road in Axbridge
Very close to Cheddar - only about 15 min drive - we went to Fleet Air Arm museum - really good esp for boys - daughter was a bit bored - but would recommend -
Would I go back well no reason I would not - but I like to visit lots of different places - would I recommend yes - but not if you have young children - by this I mean children who cannot wander by themselves as lots of older children on bikes and as I say main play area is really geared for ages 5 and above

Stayed in a log cabin on the site, very nice self contained units, club food was very nice, shop was well stocked, only problem was we hired a mini bus for the holiday so were without a car when it left. A long and possibly dangerous walk in to cheddar especially if you have young children, roads very busy. Cheddar is great for the family enjoyed it.

A lovely site, nice location but very expensive to stay at £39 per night for a tent with 2 adults and 4 children 2,4,7 & 8
I had checked and double checked on the phone that the 'super' pitch that we had booked would definitely be big enough for our Outwell Hartford XXL. Unfortunately, as someone else has also said, upon arrival we found that the first 2 pitches offered to us would no way have taken the size of our tent.
There didn't actually seem to be a 'super' pitch with the sizes stated available, so we were told to find a pitch that we thought we'd fit on then come back to reception and enquire as to whether that pitch was available.
Unfortunately we were in the location furthest away and this meant driving backwards and forwards to reception with 4 very grumpy, tired children in the car
The pitches were grass and has electric and water available between 2 pitches. Unfortunately there was no drainage available by your pitch so although you could wash up if desired using the supplied tap, you then had to walk elsewhere to drain it officially
The pool area was nice and was supervised at all times by a lifeguard
The shop was very poorly stocked, even with the basic requirements such as milk, bread, bacon etc, but there was stock of many camping accessory items, toys etc. However there was a garage at the end of the road which stocked all the basics
The pub/entertainment area and toilets were in desperate need of modernisation unfortunately
The hot water temperature in the showers was not controllable and was way too hot for our little ones, even I found it burning. We wouldn't want a cold shower of course, but these really were too hot
Fantastic adventure playground which the children loved, with adjacent BMX track which wouldn't be something we would use but great for enthusiasts.
Overall, the layout and pitches were nice, lots of hedges and trees, and the swimming pool was nice, but the shop, entertainment area etc let it down I'm afraid. We did eat on the bar the first night as it was too late to cook and the children were hungry, but the portions were tiny and very expensive

This is our sixth visit to this campsite but the first under the new ownership.
First impressions were that the old strawberry field seems to have been sold off and now looks like a rather scruffy patch on the outside of the site. Also many of the front pitches have been converted to motorhome spots: they look absolutely ideal if you do own a tourer, but from first glance, with all their gravelly new-ness, did rather resemnble a scarily large and grey car park.
We had one of the larger pitches and it was great, well maintained and quiet. It was quite a walk to the toilet blocks though with a toddler so if you have a toilet-training age child it may be worth asking for a pitch closer to the facilities.
Facilities were good, the newer block is very clean although it would be nice if the hairdryer facilities were better - in one it was falling apart, in the other inoperative. There were facilities wherer one could use a hair straightener (essential as we were in Somerset to attend a family wedding) but they are hidden - there is a point in the baby room that takes 10p pieces, and one in the launderette that takes 20p pieces. 10p was sufficient.
The water was also very hot so beware: I thought my son was (as usual) making a fuss until I tested the water- after a few minutes it really was too hot for a child.
The baby bath was most appreciated though, a useful facility to have.
Play areas still good- though shame to see the larger one had shrunk (didn't visit the smaller one because of time constraints). Very sad to see the soft play area gone as that used to be very helpful of an evening.
Food wise, the restaurant standards have risedn immensely- still a fairly basic menu but expanded, decent prices and well cooked. Pity though that there was no breakfast facility, and I saw several families leaving site in search of food.
Locality wise this is a lovely area, Cheddar is nice for a walk and browse, and Wookey makes an excellent day out with the kids.
Don't miss the strawberry sellers on the road in season BUT beware of an exceptionally busy road- not a walk for the little ones. They would be better off in the park or pool with an adult.
