Just had two days at Broadway House, loved it, will be going back. Used it for a weekend trip, we visited Weston Super Mare and Cheddar Gorge. Pitch was great, toilets and showers clean and tidy. Was some noise from other guests but by 10pm it was silent. Great pool, play ground & crazy golf. All the pitches are split by hedge rows so you had your own space.

This was our first visit to the site. It was well presented, and the pitch a good size. The staff were friendly and the site clean and tidy.
The pool was clean and warm most days and the kids loved it, but be warned there is no where to change unless you want to use the toilets.
The water was too hot in the main showers for little ones, so ended up using disabled toilets (our little girl is disabled) instead.
The pool got very busy at the weekends.
During the week there was very few services open. The pool shop was shut, the bar / club house was shut so no entertainment all week, so couldn't go and have a drink in the evening, which we weren't warned of.
The play parks were good but we didn't really use much of them.
I think this site suits older children. It gets very busy at the weekend and a little noisy.
Cheddar itself is stunning and worth a visit.

This is our second visit since becoming 'vanners! The first time was October '09, when it was very empty so great for us as this was our second time using our van so was making loads of mistakes!
This time was totally different, was packed due to the BMX rally that was happening. But that did in no way disturb our stay.
Our pitch was a 'super pitch' and it was super. Loads of space for most peoples needs. Small patch of grass which was perfect for sitting on. Pulled table out of van to have lunch and a small bbq one evening.
The facilities were close by and plentiful, never queued, cleaned regularly, but in need of a little updating.
The pool was open, but we did not use it, so cannot comment.
Shop well stocked for basics.
Bar was good with nightly entertainment, although the food was a little basic, was good.
All in all great 3 days, well worth visiting again, and would recommend to families and couples.

Great site, excellently positioned for the tourist sites at Cheddar, Wookey Hole, Glastonbury and Somerset coast.
Good facilities: clean shower/toilet block, dishwashing, plenty of drinking water taps, heated swimming pool, toddlers play area and larger adventure playground, BMX track, bar / restaurant serving a basic pub food-type menu (the quality was fine though) with kids entertainment on certain nights. Reasonably stocked shop but there is a better priced Spar at the nearby Shell petrol station (2 mins walk from the site entrance).
Pitches are varied in size and you can book specific sizes when you book. Pitches are arranged in 'streets' with hedges separating individual pitches although there are more open, hard-standing caravan 'streets'. Our pitch was pretty hard and grass bare after a summer's worth of use but it was ok because the weather was dry for our stay. (Would have been very muddy in damp weather).
There did seem to be some noise going on late into the evening on the Friday night (Bike Fest coincided with our visit) and although it wasn't close enough to really disturb us, it would have been a pain had we been near.
Overall, a highly recommended, well-located site.

We have just spent 10 days camping at Broadway house and overall had a lovely holiday - despite the weather. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the campsite.
Although being assured on the phone that the pitch allocated to us would be plenty big enough for our 7mx5m tent and car it was not. We managed to move to the next pitch which was slightly wider as it was at the end and just about squeezed on. Due to the size of the pitches most cars had to be parked across the front on the tents. At busy times this meant when sitting outside the tent and looking down the row of pitches all could be seen was a row of cars – a bit like sitting in a car park which was a shame. We would have been better on the larger pitches at the back field but many of these were on slopes and a long way from the toilet blocks.
The shower and toilet facilities were mostly clean and there was plenty available if you used the main block. My only complaint is that they are very out of date and could do with refurbishment.
The recreation facilities at this site were excellent. The pool was clean, lovely and warm and my children (7 and 5) enjoyed being in there most days. Both playgrounds were great and the BMX track looked fantastic for older children.
The shop was well stocked for essentials such as milk Bar B Q coal etc. We ate in the bar one lunchtime and the food was OK. We went to the children's entertainment 2 nights and my girls had a good time. The shop / reception / bar area is very out of date and could do with refurbishment, this was a major let down for us.
All the staff on the site were friendly and very helpful.
This campsite is well placed to visit Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Burnham on Sea, Longleat and Wells all of which are good days out. Cheddar is a nice village with nice restaurant/pubs and the local Budgens provides OK provisions. We used and would recommend the local butcher.
This was an expensive campsite compared to others we have used this year and for us did not represent value for money at all. We have stayed in cheaper campsites that offer as good and more up to date facilities with bigger pitches. If I was visiting this area again I would not use this campsite or recommend to friends unless a price reduction and/or a major refurbishment had taken place.

We had stayed here two years ago as a couple in a static caravan and came back on a camping holiday with my partners kids as we’d immediately thought of them when we saw the facilities on the last visit.
It’s totally geared up for kids and they absolutely loved it and didn’t want to come home. They definitely want to go back. The shop is a decent size for everything you could need along with souvenir gifts and toys etc.
Check-in was easy and friendly. The pitch was nicely secluded and we’d rung several times prior to arrival to organise which pitch we’d be on due to the huge size of our unit with extension and the staff were always pleasant and helpful and did everything they could to accommodate us.
The kids loved the BMX track which hosts the UK Championships so it’s a very good track. We were lucky enough to watch this on our first visit and it made a great day out whilst still on site. It states on all paperwork etc that anyone using the track should be accompanied by an adult and have all the correct safety wear in place ie. Helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. We made sure this was the case for our kids (which proved valuable!) but others did not and we were very disappointed to see that this did not seem to be policed.
In the pool, however, the lifeguard was there at all times and would not allow our children (aged 8 and 10) to be left there unsupervised despite them having every swimming badge going so whilst we’re all for safety, that went from one extreme to the other and seemed a little over cautious.
On a night the entertainment proved popular. The kids loved the Bingo and the Deal or No Deal followed by the disco and karaoke. The room itself was somewhat run down and dirty, as in tables not wiped and glasses cleared etc, but we didn’t expect much else from this kind of family environment and it certainly didn’t put us off.
The play area is fantastic, even us adults loved it, especially the huge swings, great fun. There’s an area around the play area for barbequing as well so you can be close to the kids and oversee them playing while you’re preparing their tea.
There’s lots of other bits and pieces on site too like the skate park, tennis courts, pool tables, mini bmx tracks etc and lots of walks direct from site following the coloured trails. We chose one which was rather overgrown unfortunately but once we got out of the thick of it we really enjoyed it and there were some fab views from the highest point.
There is lots to do nearby as well so the site is well placed. We went into Cheddar village a few times, the gorge is amazing to drive through and the caves are worth a visit, nice little shops. We went into the Cheese Factory which shows you how it’s made and there’s a shop at the end where you can sample all the different flavoured cheeses and chutneys.
We spent a fortune! Before going, I had printed a Treasure Hunt off the internet and we did that around Cheddar one day which the kids enjoyed. We spent another day at Wookey Hole which was fab and the kids loved that too. Not a cheap day out but tickets are cheaper bought from the internet in advance and you can get 2 for 1 vouchers off vouchercloud. Our girls loved meeting the witch as we’d seen coverage on the news of her just the week before we went as she was newly recruited. She caught me out in the maze of mirrors and that gave them a good giggle (and me almost a heart attack!)
Another day was spent in nearby Street. There’s a discount shopping village there which we parked up in and spent a while shopping then if you go straight through the other side into the town centre you’ll find a great big outdoor pool. We knew about this so went prepared and it was the kids highlight of the holiday so definitely a winner. You do have to pay entry but it wasn’t expensive but if spectators go out they have to pay again to get back in.
All in all the site makes a fab family holiday but that is what it is, be prepared for there being a lot of kids there in the summer months, some not the most polite and obedient and rules not always adhered to but if you know what to expect then it’s an acceptable level.
Toilet and wash up facilities are clean and plentiful so no complaints there and all on site activities are great. Only negatives, as previously stated are that the BMX track should be supervised and the entertainment room could do with more glass collectors and table wipers, other than that it’s fab and we’ll definitely return, the kids are nagging to already!

Stayed 3 nights at this site to break up a long journey home. This is a large site, we had a 'super grass' pitch which was located in field 8 towards the rear of the site, so was quite a walk to the nearest toilet / shower block. There are 2 shower blocks on site, the main block I felt was adequate but rather dated, the 2nd smaller block (which was nearer to us) had 4 showers, 5 toilets and 4 basins and was rather busy at times, but were generally kept clean.
Plenty on site for kids, large adventure playground, skateboard park BMX track, outdoor swimming pool and basketball court.
There is a bar and evening entertainment, but we didn't use it.
There are signs requesting guests are quiet between 10pm and 8am,but nothing was done to enforce this, there was only a hedge seperating us and the basketball court and 1 night people were still using it at midnight.
In all not a bad site, but too busy and noisy for me, would probably not stay here again.

Stayed for 4 nights in July 2009 - excellent facilities especially for children with a huge adventure playground & smaller toddler playground. There's also a large BMX track which I'm sure would appeal to older children. We had a great time here despite the heavy showers! The site is very well maintained and I can vouch for good drainage - as we did have to contend with some seriously heavy downpours. Everything was kept very clean and very friendly staff.
The only thing I would criticise is that the shop isn't kept particularly well stocked - they had no bacon or milk one morning but it was extremely quiet when we were there so maybe it would be different in the main school holidays (and there's a petrol station with small shop just along the road which we used instead). Lastly, if it was very busy, I'm not sure if you would have to queue for showers - there seemed to be lots of pitches but not that many showers.
Overall though we would definitely go back, it's great for visiting Somerset - very close to Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and only about 20 minutes drive from the seaside at Brean Sands.

I stayed here for a weekend with my hubby and 2 children aged 2 & 4yrs.
Selected a 'super grass pitch' which was plentiful for a 6 berth dome tent, canopy and 7 seater car.
Initially concerned that we were on the field furthest away from the entrance and leisure facilities (field 10) but soon realised it was perfect. We backed onto woodland, were surrounded by other young families and didn't have any through traffic so the children could run around more freely.
The children's entertainment was great with lots of prize-giving and a little play area within the pub that my 4 year old felt very grown up using! We didn't stay to sample the adult entertainment and disco so can't comment upon that.
We never had to queue for a shower although there's only 2 blocks on site. The water was always hot. Family shower rooms are available at the main block - we discovered these as we were leaving! That said plenty of room to shower a toddler and yourself in the main block. It was nice to see lockable sink cubicles too.
We used the heated pool and our children loved the baby pool. No changing rooms - just a roomy toilet but we just wrapped up in our towels and showered over the road afterwards which was fine.
We intend to return in the near future with friends who've never camped before. Think this site will be ideal for their 10-13 yr olds too- adventure playground, skateboard and bmx parks.
Easy to find. Areas of local interest close by. Child friendly pub in Cheddar village (play area & bouncy castle at the rear).
We booked off the site's own website which was offering 40% discount so we paid 43.50 for 2 nights instead of 72.00! This proved cheaper than the site we stayed on the previous week which had far less facilities!
The only improvement could be a closer toilet block for those staying at the rear - a potty was a must for late nights for the toddlers. The same facilities in the upper block as the lower one as it had no sink cubicles.

Excellent! Clean, warm showers, cubicles could be a little bigger, but there are plenty of them. Friendly service in the bar and shop. Plenty of everything you need there. Kids amusement area closed in the evening, along with the pool, but there is entertainment in the bar for them until 8.30pm, then Bingo!
Adventure play area, bmx track and skateboard park, pool tables and warm swimming pool with separate kids pool, but no pool changing cubicles. Will definitely visit again if in the area. If you visit their website they are currently offering 40% off until September, booking online.
