Our first family tent break was made perfect by finding this camp site.
We were so impressed with the site with its immaculate presentation and attention to detail that we will definitely be back again.
Secure gates, variety of pitches all with electric, water and TV ariel socket. Idyllic surroundings, spotless toilet block with everything you could wish for,
large shower cubicle with separate dressing area, separate sink cubicles with mirror and loads of hooks, family shower room, dishwasing room.
All areas have background music with help make them a relaxing environment. Little shop that shuts early but it still stocks the essentials when open. Great site for dog lovers.
Pub and restaurant on site, that is tucked away nicely.
There is 3/4 fields with various games areas like tennis, badminton, outdoor table tennis, climbing frames, a pitch & putt field, goalpost for five a side, croquet.
Overall this is a very pleasant, quiet and clean site that is very well laid out. Lots of beautiful areas to explore close by.
We will definitely be back and recommend to others.

My first camping experience and what a site.
Loads of facilities for the children-football pitch, and huge play area with loads of stuff to do.
The site was beautifully presented with neatly cut hedges and a field with a bowling green type finish! The staff were very helpful.
The showers and toilet facilities were immaculate although a bit of a walk from the field.
The shop was well stocked and the on-site restaurant was quite good with basic pub food.
We will definitely be returning to explore the area further.

This is a superb site, I really cannot think of anything negative to say about it. We go on holiday for a month every year, and at other times, so have stayed at a LOT of campsites, this one honestly would be in my top 5. It is immaculate, the pitches are large and well equipped, there is excellent dog walking and exercising for dogs, the Poston Mill pub/restaurant does really really good food, the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and lastly, the showers are amazing! I think they must be the best of any campsite we've stayed on, and that is quite a statement, but honestly, they are powerful, adjustable temperature, large cubicle, warm room, just as good as our shower at home.
We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way up country but are definitely planning on staying there longer next time, it's in a wonderful location for visiting places, is quiet and peaceful - the list of positives just goes on really - I've written quite a lot of reviews for UK campsites and have NEVER been so wholeheartedly glowing about any campsite before, but it is honestly all justified.

WOW! This is without a doubt, one of the best sites we have had the pleasure of staying at. From the phone call to reserve to the warm welcome on arrival and throughout our stay - we couldn't fault this beautiful site.
The shower facilities wouldn't look out of place in a high-end hotel and the landscaping was so thoughtfully planned. On a practical note, the pitches are perfectly level, gravelled and with their own tap, hook up, aerial point and drainage - no need for the water waste tank here!
The Poston Mill pub/restaurant was a lovely way to spend Friday evening after the drive and set up. Fresh Scampi, chips and peas washed down with a glass of red wine soon washed away memories of work (school). Wonderful food, attentive service and a great atmosphere.
We were in the area visiting friends in nearby Abbey Dore and wished to stay until the end of the day Sunday - this was not a problem at all, for only £3.50 extra.
It doesn't take long to drive to Hay at all and it is SO worth it. You need a whole day at least if you like wandering around shops and browsing antiques.
We cannot wait to go back to Poston Mill, probably this summer, and enjoy once again the amazing facilities, tranquillity and 10/10 service. They truly deserve every bit of praise.
Diolch yn fawr iawn am popeth / Thank you very much for everything.

Christmas at Poston Mill! WOW! We arrived in the snow on Christmas Eve to be greeted by Jen who was warm, friendly & most definitely helpful. The site is fantastic, large pitches with 1st class facilities including a dog shower! The shower block was very warm considering temperatures dipped to -12C. We had Christmas dinner at the Mill which was SUPERB and exceptionally good value at ONLY £35 per head! The atmosphere was warm, service wonderful & the company charming! Throw in the beautiful walks across the snow covered fields and our first Christmas away was a thoroughly lovely experience. Poston Mill definitely deserves to be in Best of Britain

Well what can one say - this is truly a very lovely well maintained site, with plenty to do for people with kids, croquet, badminton, tennis court, play area, table tennis, boules, pitch and putt 9 hole, which we did partake, great fun, a river walk for the dogs, plus a whole field for a dog walk where they can run off all their energy, all enclosed.
Lovely little shop on site, like a tardis, called the Hope of Poston, a pub, on site, and lovely people on reception. All service pitches, separated in parts by hedges, very quiet, showers fab, and they even have an inside dog wash area, with a shower head and hot and cold water, which is brilliant.
Hereford is nice, and went off to Talybont Resevoir with a picnic, and also went to Lake Horss or something, where you can feed the ducks and swans, go canoeing, your own or hire them, and hire boats.
Very restful weekend, the dog loved it, thought she was in her element around the dog walk, rating for this site defo 9.5/10 maybe even a 10, cos cant fault anything, they have thought of everything.

Just returned from a wonderful visit to Poston Mill Caravan site. This is probably the best site we have stayed on in the UK. From booking to arrival a warm and friendly greeting was the order of the day. We were rapidly processed and given discount vouchers for the shop and restaurant although we did not use either. We were escorted to our pitch by Jen on her electric bike (I really wanted to ask to use it but thought better of it at my age).
We were fortunate to arrive in glorious sunshine and soon got our van pitched and the awning erected. We were on a fully serviced pitch and we quickly had water, electric and waste connected. We then went to check the first class facilities. The showers, toilets, sinks etc were immaculately clean and the local radio was piped in as well. I know there have been comments previously about the blue lights in the toilet cubicles but I thought they were OK.
The sports facilities are very comprehensive for those that like to be active with everything from a football pitch to netball, tennis, table tennis, petanque, pitch and putt and children's playground etc. There is a lovely walk along the old railway line which used to run through the site alongside the bubbling stream. The grassed areas are kept to bowling green standards and there is not a loose piece of litter to be seen.
As we have a dog we were delighted by the doggy shower with hot and cold water and even a hair dryer. Absolutely superb.
The showers are first class, hot and really powerful with a screen to protect your clothes from getting wet in each room plus privacy washing facilities opposite with just sink if a shower is not required. The only small niggle was the short time on the lights which was a little awkward if you were having a shave in the late evening. You needed a good memory for faces or a quick dash out to wave your towel. I mentioned this to the office and a correction was promised.
Everyone was so very pleasant and any suggestions for improvements are welcomed and not taken as complaints with an adverse reaction.
This is a 5 star site which charges way under the expected 5 star charges and is unbeatable value for money and offers superb facilities. Well worth visiting and highly recommended.

My husband and I together with my parents (and Sally the lab!) took our tourers here last weekend for a 3 night stay.
I have to say that this is one of the finest parks we have ever visited. From the moment we checked in, the facilities and even the weather were fabulous.
Although the park covers, I think 32 acres; it is incredibly well set out. There are predominately 3 areas for caravans, each secluded by lovely mature beech hedges, hard standings and fully serviced pitches (water, TV, and drainage). There was a lovely grassy area, again nicely secluded for camping. The rest of the site is occupied by beautiful static homes.
The site houses a wonderful shower block with a separate disabled / family shower room, laundry, washing area / freezer, dog washing facility and recycling points.
In addition to a lovely riverside walk there is a super recreational area including grass tennis court, play area, football pitch, table tennis and a nine hole pitch and putt. All very dog friendly with more than adequate doggie buckets!
As mentioned on the website the park has a lovely well stock shop which is currently open Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday (open 8.30 to 14.00); although they are hoping to open on Sunday mornings for August.
At the entrance to the site is the recently refurbished Mill Inn. It is definitely worth a visit and the food is superb (open all day too!).
About a mile away is the village of Peterchurch that has two pubs – The Broughton Arms and The Nags Head, a Bistro, Londis shop and a beautiful church.
Further a field, if you like country inns is the Bridge Inn at Michaelchurch Escley and the Castle Inn at Longtown. Hay on Wye is worth a visit.
All in all, we had a thoroughly good time and would not hesitate to stay again here.

Fantastic site, we had booked for 4 nights but sadly had to leave a day early as our daughter was taken ill at home. The toilet and shower facilities were exceptionally clean and well kept as was the whole of the park, the staff where very helpful and the Mill restaurant was very good value for money. Location wise I would not want to walk along the main road into Peterchurch although it is only about 1 mile, however once you arrive there are some lovely walks with spectacular views. I can recommend a drive out to Hay on Wye coming back over the Black mountains. We were sad to have to leave early but will definitely be visiting again next year.

Excellent toilet block but a bit of a walk from the camping area someone has rather missed the point - we had a trailer tent at the time and if you are in a tent you really need a loo nearer!
Good facilities for kids and pitch and putt was good fun.
Restaurant was friendly but needs 'refreshing' in both decor and menu.
Our favourite game was wandering around the statics and guessing 'How much does that cost?'!
