Went to this site on spur of moment after leaving another site shortly after arriving as was awful. Won't name and shame. .
Upon arrival to poston mill you are warmly greeted with a friendly smile. Staff are really happy to help very friendly and happy.
A member of staff took us to our pitch which was huge and serviced with own tap and tv aerial. Took a look round short while after' lovely walk ways along river path to showers ect. Spotlessly clean. Radio going in all blocks in laundry room and wash rooms. Huge park or kids and adults with tennis. Table tennis available and 9 hole golf at no extra charge.
There is an old mill pub.
In one weekend we ate at the mill three times the food was lovely staff there too were smiling all the time. They allow dogs in the little bar area too which is good or them who feel a tad tied with there dogs. Lovely beer garden.
Have not got enough to say about this site I good go on and on.
We left in the rain but was still lovely even in the rain nothing water logged.
Oh and like the taps, bowls and doggie buckets dotted around the park.
Very well kept park. One of the best I have been on.
Returning in two weeks.

Absolutely fantastic site!
Extremely well kept and maintained. Large grass or hard standing pitches set in 35 acres of parkland alongside the river Dore. The dog walking facilities are second to none with many walks straight from the site, as well as the best on-site dog walking facilities we have ever come across.
The toilet block is kept immaculately clean and there is even a dog washing area with shower and hair dryer!
Adjoining the site is a superb bar and restaurant serving lovely food at very reasonable prices.
About I mile down the road in Peterchurch is a Bistro called Food for Thought, which is well worth a visit.
If you have small (or medium sized) children I defy you to find a better play area for them in the UK.
The site is very handy for days out in Hay-on-Wye, Ross-on-Wye, Hereford, Abergavenny and Monmouth to name but a few places worth visiting.
If I had to make one criticism it would be that the toilet block is a few hundred yards from the camping field. A small price to pay for being on one of the UKs' best campsites!

We spent 5 nights at Poston Mill and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we arrived and let us choose a site that gave us a bit of shade in the afternoon, unusual for Britain this July has been very sunny and hot. We have a dog to consider so some shade was necessary. The site is very clean and with excellent facilities. Our dog really enjoyed swimming for his ball in the river. There is ample space for everyone to enjoy themselves and even space to let the well behaved dogs off the lead to run around and tire themselves out.
The area is very beautiful but the campsite is a long drive to the nearest decent sized town for supplies. The shop is only open in the morning but is well stocked for essential foods. The pub and restaurant on site is more than adequate but not top quality.
We would certainly recommend a visit and will go back there when exploring that area again.

This is a beautiful site, very well run and with sports facilities (tennis, pétanque, badminton, golf) available. Toilets and showers are warm and spotless, the whole site is stunning and the staff are friendly and efficient. I have also styled here with a Duke of Edinburgh group and the young people were blown away by the experience compared to some of the campsites we take them to! My new favourite campsite for sure.

Well if there was a 6 star site this is it, stayed 3 nights and could not fault it anywhere, Toilets out of this world, so clean, not a weed in sight, grass like a bowling green, took 2 dogs cost me 6 quid and boy do they welcome dog owners even a doggy shower! Plenty of walks everywhere, I would highly recommend this site to unwind.
Being in a motorhome you may be a little constrained so take a couple of bikes, but the bus stop is right outside of the site so Hay on Wye is within reach but hey they do great food on site so eat in and chill out

Fantastic site! We stayed here in the half term holiday for 2 nights and ill definitely return. Great play area for the kids, lots of room to roam safely and with minimum supervision. Staff were great, going so far as giving me some washing powder as our 2 year old had vomited in the car 5 minutes from the site! The facilities were spotless, warm and well presented. My only moan would be that they are a bit far from the tent pitches when nature calls in the middle of the night. All in all, highly recommended and will visit again.

We have spent just a weekend at Poston Mill. The site was very well presented and quite clearly every effort is made to keep up high standards. The pitch was a good size with plenty of room for your awning and car and has nice grassed areas adjacent. The shower facilities are excellent and have a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. There is a pub and a shop, we cannot comment as we did not use them. Overall perfect site for relaxing weekend and taking in the sites of Hereford and Rhos on Wye.

Nine tourers from our Woosie Club descended on Poston Mill for a long weekend break. We come from all parts of the UK as far afield as South Devon and West Yorkshire.
A warm welcome and quick check in from the very friendly staff. She lead us to our fully serviced level hardstanding large pitch, 16 amp electrics.
The pitches are well laid out and quite private.
The grounds are very well kept. The dog walk is as long as you want it to be.
The toilet block won the Dyson Loo of the yeasr award in 2008. They are immaculate to this day. They even have their own dedicated dog shower unit complete with hairdryer for the poochs coat.
The on site shop is well stocked and will order newspapers. The restaurant and Bar provide a warm welcome with excellent food at sensible prices. Julie and her team work very hard and all food appears cooked fresh to order.
The surrounding area has a lot to offer. We shall be back again in the near future

The bad points -
Having read the park's website and some of the reviews on here I was immensely disappointed with this park. Although well kept, the pitches on the bottom bay to the left of the washrooms were so small you could almost shake hands with your neighbour out of the windows. For such a big site the shop was inconveniently only open in the mornings. The noise from the main road was quite loud. No internet or phone signal.
The good points are - the facilities were in good order and very well set up. The dog exercise area could do to be fully secure to enable safe off lead exercise. The disabled bathroom was very well equipped and spacious. The riverside walk is very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful but doubt I would go back again.

I only had time for a couple of nights stay, but this site is the best I have ever stayed at. There is nothing more a camper could need or wish for. The toilet/shower blocks, dog wash, laundry, washing up room were all immaculate and the riverside walks within the park were great, with dog refuse bins and park benches everywhere. With a shop and restaurant on site and a good supply of every type of gas/gaz one might need, a bus stop at the gate, together with the loveliness of the park and area, I can't recommend this site more highly.
