Back again at Easter. This time good days and bad, but who cares at such a beautiful spot. The kids love it and the owners let us pitch our tents in a circle as there was quite a few of us. Cannot fault the place, everything you need is at hand. Free showers and always hot even somewhere to wash up. The only thing that was sad this time was the toilet ceiling had been boarded over as some people had moaned about the birds and wild life, ba humbug. I would rather see the birds and wildlife than timber, but you cannot please everone. Going again in a couple of weeks, can't wait fantastic site

First trip with our touring caravan after years of tenting.
Owners very helpful, site and facilities very basic, but absolutely beautiful setting.
Weather was awful - gales, torrential rain, hail & snow, which meant the field turned very muddy. The owner kindly helped tow us off the pitch on departure.
Out of our window you could see numerous birds, sheep with their lambs and the babbling brook with daffodils - bliss.
Long Mind literally on your doorstep - cross the stile and you can walk for miles without being near a road (our dog loved it).
Despite the weather we had a lovely weekend here, and would definitely return, hopefully in better weather.

Just had my first camping trip at this site. On arriving we were greeted by the site of about 150 kids on school camping trip, I thought oh no ! but I must say they were a pleasure to camp with all well mannered. The site was full but the facilities coped.(just). The site as the other reviews say is basic ,but has a charm of it own. Its peaceful, and if that's what you are after go for it

Stayed at this site in July 2007. Went back in September to see if it had changed and it had. The site was more beautiful and more tranquil then we had remembered. I don't know of a better site in Shropshire, certainly not with such wonderful surroundings. At night you can look into the sky and see hundreds of stars, there is very little light pollution. If you like walking there are some really good walks starting from the site. Just go over the stile and keep turning left, as we were told, and what a walk. The scenery was out of this world and the peace and quite was unbelievable. As for the village, its lovely, pretty cottages, little narrow lanes and 2 pubs just a few minutes walk away. Within walking distance of about 30 minutes there is the town of Church Straiting. Here you will find a good selection of eating places, tea shops and pubs. The town is very well kept and its worth spending some time there just wondering around. This place will be on our list for many years to come. Looking forward to next year and meeting up with the good friends we made during our stay.

This place is heaven!
We stayed here last week and we were fortunate to have great sunshine.
The site is small and friendly with breathtaking views and walks on your doorstep. There is plenty of hook ups should you need one. There is a stream which runs through one edge of the site.
The toilets are rustic, very clean and have birds nesting in the roof. There is two pubs in the village which serve good food and local real ales. There is also trampolines in the garden of the closest pub, which the kids enjoyed. There is also a village shop two minutes away.
A local bus service goes to Church Stretton, Shrewsbury and Ludlow. The train station at Church Stretton goes to Shrewsbury and Ludlow.
A true gem if you like proper campsites in the countryside

Lovely site: camping as it was in my youth (1970s). Facilities are basic but clean enough. People are really lovely and the setting just can't be beaten. Kids were roaming safely, and playing in the stream in their wellies. This is the sort of place where a mad half hour occurs just before it gets dark and they all go off to bed. There is no lighting here really, and the view of the stars is fabulous as there is no light pollution. Beware the slope! My poor husband was crushed every night as the baby and I rolled slowly to push him into the side of the van! Both pubs were nice and did good food. Trampolines at The Ragleth kept lots of kids happy, but the one at The Green Dragon was in poor repair and looked unsafe, as was their highchair which had no straps! We left at the start of a bank holiday weekend when it was getting really busy, and some noisier and less considerate people were turning up. However, we'll definitely be back for a mid-week stay in the future.

On arrival we found the site very very pretty with a stream running along one edge of the field. We were allocated number 15 but some inconsiderate person had packed up and left their car bang slap in the middle of it so we were moved to number 11. On this side of the field there is quite a steep hill and we were glad we brought the trailer tent so we could sleep on the flat. The other side of the field is level. The toilet facilities were adequate and one loo was missing it's seat but was still usable. Can't comment on the shower as we didn't use it. If you needed to wash your crocks the sink is situated outside. The owners were very friendly and I would recommend this site, it's very picturesque, within walking distance of two local pubs and the lay out is great for walking and family breaks. Fingers crossed for the weather.

We spent a lovely night at this campsite getting to grips with our trailer tent. The campsite is located off a dead end country lane which makes it quiet and safe for little ones.(no through traffic). There is a stream on the one side of the campsite and a steep bank on the other side. the facilities IE toilet and shower are basic but clean and located right next to the campsite. The shower which we didn't use but other people were. We noticed there was a sink and two draining racks for washing/drying up. The camp site was litter free. There was a mix of tents, caravans and trailer tents. The campsite consists of the field and toilets/shower block. The surrounding area is very pretty. Sheep in the field and you have to cross a ford to enter the campsite lane. The nearest pub is a good ten minutes walk. We did not go in to the pub. overall a small and quiet campsite for relax and unwinding and getting away from it all.

I stayed at this campsite for a couple of nights to do some walking around the area of the Long Mynd.
The campsite is in a beautiful and tranquil location at the foot of the Long Mynd. It is within a couple of minutes walk of Little Stretton where there are two good pubs and a little shop. From the campsite you can walk directly onto the Long Mynd, and I also enjoyed walks on the nearby Stiperstones and Caer Caradoc.
The campsite itself is relatively small and was quite busy when I stayed. There were a lot of families with young children and these coupled with the stream running through the campsite meant that it wasn't the sort of place to go for some peace and quiet! There didn't seem to be any rule on display about noise at night and one large group stayed up talking loudly until about 2am.
The toilet block has been described by other people as 'rustic' and I think this is being a little generous. Personally I'm not too bothered about this sort of thing but I wouldn't want to take someone there for their first experience of camping! Obviously I can't speak for the ladies' facilities but the gents' toilets and showers were in need of a bit of a spring clean. As mentioned before there were swallows flying in and out to their nest in the roof and lots of cobwebs and creepy crawlies! In the gents there were two toilets and only one shower, so I could imagine that they get a little busy in the mornings. Fortunately I usually have my shower when I get back from my walk in the afternoon so this wasn't a big problem for me. There was only one sink for washing up, which was outside, so I had my first experience of washing up in the rain!
Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the campsite, and felt it had a lot of 'charm'. However, I could imagine there would be a lot of people who wouldn't be happy at the state of the facilities, especially if they have stayed at more 'commercial' sites in the past. If I were to return again I would do so out of season to avoid the noisy children if at all possible, but I would definitely come back here.

We stayed here for 4 nights, we wished it had been for 4 weeks. This is the perfect spot, beautiful views of hills and mountains, a small stream running alongside the camp, wonderful walks which can be started at the camp site. No need to use the car and site owners who are extremely helpful and genuine good people. As an example; because of torrential rain and flooding we were unable to leave on our designated day of departure and needed to stay an extra night. When we went to pay for the extra night we were told "NO your not responsible for the weather".
The village of Little Stetton has beautiful old buildings a small village shop with the most friendliest owner you could meet and 2 very good pubs which serve excellent meals. Yes the toilets and showers on site are basic but they are clean and tidy and there is a perfectly good area for washing dishes etc. If you are looking for a site that has breathtaking views, adjacent walks, lovely surroundings villages, plenty of places to visit and owners who cant do enough to please, then this is the site for you.
