Stayed for 3 nights the beginning of October when we had that lovely weather. Campsite is set in the valley with stunning views. The toilets and showers are basic but adequate.
We ate in the village pub one night which was lovely but a bit pricey. The Chinese takeaway in Church Stretton was very nice with excellent portions.
The surrounding area is great for walking, we couldn't believe the gorgeous scenery. The moderate to hard walk from the site up to Long Mynd and back took about 4 hours. It was fabulous.
Dogs are very welcome as well.
Definitely recommend this site.

Had 5 nights here and what a wonderful location. Had a few annoying moments with hundreds of sheep which the farmers were having problems with trying to herd. The noise began at 5. 00am one day! Didn`t put me off though. Buzzards every morning, an inquisitive fox one evening!
Toilets etc. very dated and basic but its camping and I never expect too much. Fantastic area I knew little about, couple of pubs within 5 minutes walk, great walking direct from the site,
Would definitely go again but recommend modernising the toilets if anything.

This is a charming and intimate site which can get very busy with campers taking advantage of the many beautiful walks available directly from this site.
The owners are welcoming and helpful, directing you to the best available pitch. And they are knowledgeable about the surrounding areas.
The facilities, I think, can get a little overstretched, as happened at the weekend we stayed. During the week is much quieter.
Toilets are basic, but kept clean and tidy. There is a handbasin with H&C water and soap dispenser in each. Showers are also basic, but with plenty of hot water - and free.
Most of the pitches are sloping, some fairly severely, so caravanners and motorhomers will need their ramps. The owner has made efforts to make the upper pitches a little flatter. But a little work with a digger would work wonders and make the site even more attractive.
There are no special facilities for motorhomes. But there are plenty of water points, some of which can be used for filling up. Waste water, however, is more of a problem. I would advise taking a portable waste water tank.
There are two pubs and a well stocked village shop within easy strolling distance.
The Ragleth Arms is more up-market but the Green Dragon is more homely and, apparently, more popular with the local characters of which there are plenty! The Green Dragon serves the best steak and ale pie I have ever tasted and the chips and veg are great too. All genuinely home cooked. Try the Butty Bach beer if you get the chance and stroll back to the site suffused in a warm glow.

Basic facilities. In the ladies there are 3 toilets, 2 wash basins and 1 electric shower so this small facilities block did get a bit busy when we visited on a summer weekend.
The walks from the site are stunning so for such a lovely location I was prepared to put up with basic facilities. As dog owners this was perfect for us but there are lots of sheep around in the surrounding fields so dog owners need to be aware of this.
1 of the village pubs was closed for refurbishment when we visited so we could only go to the Ragleth Arms but the food here was excellent and the staff friendly and they allow dogs in part of the pub or in the large garden.
The site was full when we visited but there didn't seem to be much noise and this suited us perfectly. I will definitely return!

This site is situated in a lovely location. The walks are really lovely as is the surrounding scenery. There are also some good local facilities (pubs!) within walking distance, both of which serve good food.
The owners are welcoming and leave you to your own devices.
The site was occupied mainly by large groups and families during our stay, all of which seemed to be having a good time. We are a quiet couple so this wasn't really for us, although I think if you have a family or are going with friends you would enjoy the atmosphere.
We had a pitch by the stream which was nice but at the same time ended up being a bit noisy during the day and early evening - there were a lot of children at the site during our stay and they spent most of the time running up and down the stream, along the back of our caravan.
The site has ladies and gent's toilets but only one shower in each. The facilities themselves are in desperate need of an update but they are usable. They were cleaned daily by the owners, but considering the pitch price (£17 per night) I would have expected a higher standard and more showers.
Overall this site had some very good points (location, local puts, friendly owners) but as a couple without children it wasn't for us I'm afraid. But I think as a family site or for those of you going with friends, you would enjoy your stay here.

This is a family run site perfectly located at the foot of the Long Mynd meaning this is an ideal base camp for walkers and cyclists.
If you are looking for a complete relaxing stay in tranquil surroundings then this is the place for you; although a small site you can certainly get lost in your surroundings.
Electric points area available along with water points at various locations around the site.
There are two good sized washing up sinks with hot and cold water, these are located outside near the toilet block; although they are outside and uncovered this wasn't a problem at all in fact it was a rather nice experience being able to wash up and look over the camp site and hills.
The toilet block is old and small but serves it's purpose; Modernisation is required but wouldn't stop is returning due to the many good points the site has.
The site owners are very friendly and accommodating and will do anything to help you if they can. Site rules are strict but fair and managed with regular patrols by staff; this usually attracts a good clientèle.
I love this site; never want to leave when I'm there; tried to book for this August but found to be fully booked; my fault as I left it to the last minute. Just shows that booking at busy times is essential.
This site comes as highly recommended by me but I don't want too many people finding it as it's one of natures best kept secrets.

We found a level pitch near the brook, but if we were on the other side of the central path it would not have been great for our folding camper. The site is well situated, next to a small brook, and there is an obvious path for a walk. There are also a couple of pubs nearby within easy walking distance. The site has separate male/female toilet blocks, with one shower and two toilets in each. Washing-up facilities are just outside (two sinks) - plenty of hot water. The owners are very helpful. We felt that if the site was busier the facilities would have been over-stretched, but it was fine for a nice day/night in March, with only a few others (about 15) there.

Nice basic site, pitches fairly flat on stream side, not as flat on the other side of the field but the owner said they were going to take the fence back a bit and try to flatten the ground on that side while they were closed.
Toilets and showers clean but no soap in toilets. With regard to comment further down about window in ladies shower, someone would have to be very keen to actually spot you. Plus, the owner said he was going to put modesty glass in. Although only one shower, I only had to wait once and site was busy the weekend we were there.
We ate at the Green Dragon on the Saturday night as the Ragleth was fully booked. Food was good value and locals friendly. We preferred it to the Ragleth.
Good walks from site and stream good for kids to play in. Good centre for visiting several towns/attractions in Shropshire. We went over to Ironbridge - about 40 minute drive.
Freezer for ice packs and owners happily charged up our son's DVD player for free.
We plan to visit again.

Had a long weekend here,3 nights. Lovely peaceful site, easy to find in a beautiful valley surrounded by hills and with a stream running through it,has basic shower and toilet, elsan and washing up facilities but has a hook up on every pitch. 2 local pubs and a shop all within a quarter of a mile. There is a larger town just over a mile away. Friendly owners. TV and radio reception very poor so take some videos. Site sloping to fairly flat. This is England at its best. We will certainly be going back soon

Our first trip in our caravan. When I first booked the pitch we were taking the tent and as we recently upgraded to a caravan it wasn't a problem to change.
The only problem whether tent or caravan the pitch wasn't level. We struggled with our awning. The camping magazine said 9 out 0f 10 for level pitches more like 7. Right handside by the stream is level. Lovely tucked away location surrounded by sheltered trees fantastic views babbling stream where you have to go over a ford at the entrance to the campsite.
Owners delightful and show you to your pitch.
One shower and three toilets for each sex. Basic shower but adequate only waited once for. No soap or hand towels. Area for washing up is outside.
Little Stretton has a small store selling essentials only. There are two pubs The Ragleth very welcoming always busy food looks good although didn't eat good beer and two trampolines in the spacious beer garden. The other the Green Dragon friendly enough but quieter.
Surrounding area what can I say but other than fantastic scenery great views and quintessential villages.
We did two walks one up Ashes hollow to the top of the Long Mynd a circular route from the camp site.
The other from Church Stretton up through Carding Mill valley to on top and back down batches hollow.
Church Stretton offers small individual shops a co-op restaurants chippie and takeaways and a handful of pubs.We ate at the Jupuir Indian restaurant on the Wednesday night all you can eat buffet for £9.95 fantastic food and value booking advisable.
Went to the golf club for a coffee just to see the views fantastic. Took the drive over the top of the long Mynd again fantastic views and especially with the heather out.
Shrewsbury 20 min drive away and at the Meole retail park just before the centre you have a big Sainsbury. We also got the bus into Ludlow took 30 mins it is a lovely old town with a castle and Saturday market
We will go back lovely area lots to do fantastic for walking and great views
