Fantastic site, my daughter and I were made very welcome. Facilities are to a very high standard, honesty box for purchases from the shop, beautiful washing areas. Each pitch has electric hook-up, although we were not set up for its use. A very quiet site, it was very cold so everyone was snug inside their caravans, but the layout is excellent for sitting outside and passing time. We walked into Whissendine late afternoon and spent a very pleasant couple of hours in The White Lion.
We were only there the one night as we were trying 'Gertie' out for the first time, but it would have been nice to have spent longer. Views are great, countryside all round.

We have just returned from three nights here and would say that it is the best kept site that we have ever stayed at. The owner Sue clearly takes a pride in the place and is also very helpful.
It is a small adult only park and a member of the 'tranquil parks' group, this meant that it was very quiet. We found the other campers very friendly.
We enjoyed our bank holiday weekend exploring Rutland and would certainly return here again.

Big thanks to the owners for such a fabulous site, very green and very well organised. On arrival we were met by the owner, who showed us to our pitch, and gave us a black file with the most information we have ever seen. The on site shop, which sells milk, tinned good, chocolate, jams, also doubles up as a library and information store, were maps, walks, pubs, cafes, menues, you name it they have it, for you to borrow or read, while you can make yourself a cuppa. The facilities are great for a 12 van site. All pitches are hard standing, with beautiful cut grass and flower beds. Bird boxes and feeders are everywhere, lovely sitting outside the van watching the many different birds feed just in front of you. Two pubs within walking distance about. 80 of a mile away down a lane, torch needed for the journey back, few pot holes to look out for. We stayed here for 6 nights and could have easily stayed for much longer, so much to see and do in the area. Would recommend this site as a must, when visiting Rutland.

A small adults only, no smoking site. Greendale is situated along a small lane and the directions given on their website must be followed by anything bigger than a car or campervan. A very well kept site with an abundance of bird feeders. The small shop is run on an 'honesty box' system. The village of Whissendine is a short walk away and has a good pub and a well stocked village store. Melton Mobray, Oakham and Stamford are only short drives away and well worth a visit as is, of course, Rutland Water. In summary, a peaceful, beautiful site in a much over looked area

As everyone has said this is an immaculate site. The toilet block is pristine with a proper shower in a very spacious cubicle.
The little shop has a good variety of things you may need, and open all the time thanks to the honesty box. There is a fantastic shop in the village selling local produce as well as other supermarket items, and reasonably priced.
We also visited the local farm shop which sells the best steak ever!
The site was fully occupied but very peaceful and quiet.
There are a couple of picnic benches and I was amazed to see these being cleaned every evening, as were all the water pipes!
I cannot fault this site and you will be welcomed like a family member.

This very small site redefines the word immaculate. We have never seen anything like it. The owners maintain and preen every inch and make the site more like a garden than a camping and caravan facility. I saw the owner cleaning and disinfecting the door handles of the shower and toilet block and this level of care extends to the whole site. It is top price, but very tranquil, safe and private, only about a dozen units are catered for, maybe not that many. Nice on site shop, small swimming pool and a very picturesque village at the end of the road. Rutland Water is about five minutes drive, as is Oakham, both of which are the best of middle England and totally worth a few days of holiday time. Highly recommended. This site is like having a private second home.

If only all campsites were like this one, professional, helpful and friendly owners. A well kept site, wonderfully clean showers and toilets with a hairdryer in the ladies loo. Lots of info where to eat and ideas of where to go. A fridge for visitors in tents was a great help, plus the kettle and tea making facilities in the shop/tourist info room. There was also a washer/dryer available. We had a problem where the rain had seeped threw the bottom of our tent and Sue took the wet items away and had them dry and returned in the afternoon. We will be back very shortly.

We have just returned from 4 nights at Greendale and agree with all the previous comments. The site is wonderful - so quiet and in wonderful countryside surroundings. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is definitely the place (although there are lots of lambs and sheep in neighbouring fields at this time of year!). The small shop is well stocked with essentials - better than others we have visited - and also local produce.
The owners take great pride in the service they provide - they laid on celebratory drinks for everyone on the site for a 57th wedding anniversary.
The only thing that could possibly be improved is another toilet cubicle for men, but otherwise the facilities are excellent and before we left we booked another stay.

We had never visited this campsite before and we are sorry we did not know about it before. We have been touring the UK and Europe for over 30 years and this is the best site we have ever been to. The location is beautiful and the welcome outstanding.
The bird life is incredible and it is so peaceful. It is a small site, non smoking and adult only. There is a small swimming/plunge pool and each pitch is lovely. There are limited but immaculately clean facilities (shower, toilets and sinks). There is a shop and incredible tourist information. There are books, maps and guides available, even BBQs, bikes and binoculars as well. The village of Whissendine is about a miles walk and well worth it. There are two pubs and a very welcoming Mace shop which sells an amazing range of locally sourced food.
If you love bird life, want a peaceful break and want to meet the friendliest most helpful owners you are likely to encounter this is the site for you. Oakham, Stamford and Melton Mowbray are nearby, as well as Rutland Water and many other attractions.

Having bought our first touring caravan 1 hour earlier, We chose Greendale for our very first experience based on quality and proximity to my daughter and granddaughter. We certainly chose right! Our hosts were terrific and they even helped Lorraine to find an NHS dentist in nearby Oakham to treat and remove some of her wisdom! The site ambience was faultless and the facilities top class. Our Labrador Darcy and 20 year old siamese cat Cindy settled in splendidly to their new surroundings and our fortnight's stay was a great induction to new adventures ahead. There's a very good pub in Whissendine offering home made pub grub fayre and, real ale and fine wine all at reasonable prices. Our thanks also to fellow 'vanners' John & Janet, Des & Diane, Richard & Allison and Paul and his wife for lending helping hands and hospitality during our stay. We will definitely return during our UK visits.
