We spent a lovely week at this site. It was so nice, well kept grounds very clean showers and toilets. We were made very welcome at this site the wardens couldn't do enough for us.

It was very handy for the surrounding areas.

Not much to add that has not been said before. Helpful, friendly people, thanks for the help hitching the van. Facilities are spotless, a lot of information can be found in the honesty shop.

We spent a couple of days in the pool; we had a lot of fun.

I will be trying to get back there in a couple of months. So peaceful!

Just returned from Greendale Farm after an excellent week. Have travelled most of this country over the years and have only just found this adult only site, almost on my doorstep, that could easily now be top of my quick break 'Go To List. '

Just as its name implies, this site possesses a peaceful tranquillity which is complimented by the beautiful surrounding farmland and nature scape. The mid afternoon silence was broken only by the twittering of the birds of many varieties, the gentle bleat of a sheep with her lambs or the occasional sound of a farmer and his tractor passing by or working in the distance.

The site is owned by a very likeable, friendly (but not intrusive) couple Jo and Chris, who do put in extra effort to ensure that you are trouble free and enjoying your time with them. They even supply you with one of their well written and compiled information packs with absolutely everything you need to know to be sure to maximise your stay.

The site has 12 well spaced, quality hard standing pitches with ample well kept grass, flowers and shrubbery between them to ensure you feel comfortable and in a green, rural environment. There is even a small herb garden, just for you to pick your own for your barbecue or lunch. Around the pitches, Jo and Chris have also placed a number of regularly stocked, feeding stations for the many varied birds that enjoy living here. They will keep you amused for hours with their antics; even a family of Greater Spotted Woodpeckers visited our feeder every day.

A small office, honesty shop for a few basics and area information leaflets, pot washing, toilet and shower area are alongside a lovely, small, adult only pool. Don't expect too much here but nonetheless, it is heated, well kept, open air, safe and gorgeous for a little gentle excitement during the nice weather. We had an hour or so swimming a few strokes and sunbathing on a couple of comfy sunbeds at the poolside.

The centre of the local village of Whissendine is an easy 20min stroll away and has shop for newspapers and groceries etc. And there is a really nice pub (The White Lion) with a garden and good food. Their Sunday carvery lunch (booking recommended) is particularly popular and good quality.

I will definitely be back and I would be amazed if anyone could find anything about this lovely site that was not to the Visit England 5 star quality, that they have proudly earned.

Been here three times now, it's so good. Small, friendly, well equipped, peaceful and within walking distance of a pub. Perfect! Very handy for Rutland Water and Barnsdale Gardens. Owners very keen on helping the environment so lots of recycling facilities.

This is a truly lovely little site with only 12 pitches – it is small yet perfectly formed and we thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay here. It has everything… peace and tranquillity, beautiful farmland views, great facilities (immaculately kept), is a haven for birds and wildlife, and is only a short walk away from the village of Whissendine where the White Lion pub is very dog friendly and serves good food (just short of one mile).

There is also extensive Tourist Information on offer inside the site shop, not to mention from the most friendly, helpful and knowledgeable wardens. We must acknowledge Gail and thank her once again for driving into Oakham for us and collecting a gas cylinder (upon our gas level indicator failing us), save us taking the motorhome out solely for this reason.

There is no specific dog walk available although the reasonably quiet lane on which the site is found is generally okay for quick morning/evening outings. Rutland Water is definitely worth a visit, as is the working mill in the village. We were fortunate enough to be able to meet the miller and venture inside the mill up to the top.

Definitely a site to check out – one of the best in our view and we would love to return when next in the area.

A beautiful & peaceful site in a stunning location. Only 12 units on an adult only non smoking site. A swimming pool is open during the summer months. A small shop if you run out of essentials with an honesty box.

My husband and I have just spent 4 nights at this wonderful little site.

On arrival, we were warmly greeted by Gail, one of the two friendly wardens who showed us to our pitch.

After setting up Gail gave us a very detailed information pack, which was ours for the duration of our stay. Filled with details of the site facilities, things to do, places to visit and eat; it made excellent reading!

The site facilities are excellent – lovely toilet/showers, small outdoor swimming pool, little shop stocking the essentials (run on an honesty method), superb information area and free Wi-fi!

The site itself is immaculately kept and is a haven for wildlife and so quiet! Phone (02) and TV (freeview) coverage were fine.

Nearby is the pretty village of Whissendine which is an approx. 15-20 minutes’ walk along a quiet lane. Do take a torch as there is no street lighting for part of the walk. In the village, there is a shop/post office and the White Lion Inn. We ate in the pub a couple of times and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Just on the outskirts is the Whissendine Windmill, definitely worth a visit to see the mill in action!

All in all, a beautiful friendly site which I would highly recommend.

Hope to visit again soon!

PS If you like quirky, old pubs do try the Fox & Hounds at Exton (open all day)!

We stayed here in our motorhome in August 2017. Great campsite and lovely people who run it. Adults only. Very tranquil and well cared for site. Walking distance to good village pub that serves excellent food.

We'll definitely be back.

There is very little that I can add to all the previous reviews about this delightful site. It''s very quiet and the facilities are immaculate.

The owners Chris and Jo and Wardens Barb and Gail are extremely helpful and friendly.

Special thanks to Gail for helping us out of a sticky situation when we locked 2 sets of keys in our Motorhome.

Whissendine is a pleasant stroll away and has a windmill which is worth a visit, a well stocked shop and village pub serving very good food.

There is a bus service and walking and cycling routes around the area.

We hope to return here and would not hesitate to recommend it.

We spent three nights on this lovely little site. Wardens and owners were pleasant and helpful.

Useful information pack for each pitch. Honesty shop selling basics and good information area. Indoor washing up facility. Shower block small but clean and we never had to queue.

Very rural and quiet location, Whissendine is a pleasant walk away and the local shop and pub were both excellent. Lots to do in the area but we were away for a rest so didn't venture far.
