Have just returned from a very enjoyable, extended holiday at Appuldurcombe. We stayed in one of the static caravans in the Walled Orchard. They are well equipped and very clean. The site is well looked after and the pool is heated and kept clean. The site is in an excellent quiet location surrounded by countryside. We used the cafe on site several times, they are very friendly and the food is excellent, most of it homemade and the ingredients locally sourced. The kids will love the Schmoo Milk Shakes! In fact so will the adults!

Just completed a 10 day stay at this lovely site. We were booked on a slopping pitch which overlooked the children’s play area. Staff helped guide us onto our pitch and supplied us with ramps to help level off the caravan. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
All facilities were kept clean and the showers were excellent can get very busy first thing in the morning so better waiting till late morning to have a shower. Kids enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool and the entertainment in the club on a night. 2 pubs and a Spar shop within walking distance and a lovely cafe on site which does great home cooked food. A site I would happily recommend and will visit again.

Stayed here for 5 nights in mid-July through the Red Tunnel camping offer which made it good value.
Very good site. The shower block in particular was excellent, even though the site was busy I never once had to wait for a shower.
The site was completely full when we first arrived but we were happy with the pitch we were given at the end of a row. I don't think we would've been quite as happy in some parts of the site where it appeared you were a bit more 'hemmed in', although the site quietened down after the first couple of days anyway.
Lovely walks directly from the campsite.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this site.We have never visited the isle of Wight before and we all loved it! The site was perfectly placed for the South side of the island.
Quite a narrow entrance to the reception area, but you get used to it!
We were welcomed on arrival and directed to our pitch by a nice lady on reception. The pitches are quite big but we only had a 4 man tent and a car, others with big tents looked snug but had room for all the extras you might have (pup tent, storage tent, etc).
The children really enjoyed the lovely pool and evening entertainment in the clubhouse.
The site was very busy but noise was not too bad although we did have some inconsiderate neighbours.
Everything was well kept and tidy, the showers were always hot and I only queued once. They did have a slight tendency to flood occasionally.
The one thing we must mention is the superb food served in the little cafe. Completely homecooked and fresh to order. The pizzas are a must!
The staff lovely too. We would use this site again.

Appuldurcombe camp site is about half an hour from
East Cowes ferry port. We took the offer from Red Funnel ferries. Ie five days camping and return ferry from Southampton total cost £115.00p, well worth every penny.
The site is very clean, quiet and well run. Hot water in the showers all the time. The site is well situated for touring the whole of the island,a visit to Godshill is a must.
The weather was brilliant and the outside pool was great. The shop on site was good and reasonable. There is a owl and bird sanctuary up the lane which is worth a visit, and the birds flying and catching prey is out of this world.

Just had 10 nights at Appuldurcombe Park. Its is a very attractive park, the pitches were well looked after and the rubbish was collected every day so no over flowing bins. I found the toilets and showers in a spotless condition whenever I used them.
The pool was well situated in a natural sun trap. Ok the bar doesn't open until 7 but we never got in there until around 9.30pm. I read that the pitches were sloping. Thats not really so. Undulating yes but in the main flat.
I certainly would return there again.

Spent 5 nights at this lovely site, facilities kept very clean. Lane up to the site very narrow just hope you do not meet anyone coming in or out whilst you have the caravan on the back.
The only criticism that I have is the staff on arrival were not very welcoming. The site is situated near a nice village that has a good pub and a shop. This is an ideal site for seeing the south side of the island.

This site is brilliant
Showers were always hot with plenty of water and spotless small shop and bar swimming pool was great
Site very laid back but with every thing you need.
Small dishwashing facilities and 4showers but if you choose your time right there is no problem.
We had pitch 91 this was great as the sun comes around about 11 and stays until 8pm so cool in the morning we will go back for sure the Isle of Wight is great

Some of the pitches are a bit tight and do slope, we were lucky on getting an end pitch so had more room than most on one side but the tent pitched next to us was extremely close. Most pitches had ehu and the water was not too far from any pitch.
The toilets weren't overly clean and the whole of the floor had a puddle all the time from the showers not draining. Showers were very hot and though it had a temperature adjuster on it it made no difference. Lovely entrance to the toilets / showers over a stream though.
The swimming pool was great, heated and open 8am - 9pm, Play area was good and my son was really pleased with the football pitch which was on a lovely meadow with stream running through it.
The lady in the shop was knowledgeable and friendly as was the maintenance man, when we asked at the shop or the maintenance man for help they went out of their way to assist us.
The bar doesn't open until 7pm and had entertainment most nights. This we found refreshing as most sites try to get every penny out of you they can.
Cafe open for breakfast and evening meals, we didn't use it but the prices didn't look too expensive.
Small shop selling a little more than basics and toys with fair prices.
The walks around the site are extremely scenic so take a camera and binoculars. No dog walk on site but there doesn't need to be as there are hundreds of footpaths around the site. There are dog poo bins on site.
Morrisons is in Shanklin nearby or Tesco's in Ryde.
Don't rely on satnav to get around the island as it will make you think that all roads there are all single lane! Very easy to find your way around the island

This is the second time that I have visited this site and yet again I was not disappointed. This is a friendly site and it is a lovely size. It has the facilities that you would expect only from a big campsite but the friendliness of a small campsite. It is small enough that you can allow your children to explore without going out of sight.
There is always hot water and the toilets were spotless every time. The showers are large so that you can shower without getting your hanging clothes wet.
The shop sells the things that you need. The reception is knowledgeable down to weather printouts each day. There is a a very good and safe children's play area and the nightly entertainment is very good for children and adults alike. My children particularity liked the Wii competition night. Ideal for children who are getting withdrawal from electrical goods and adults can have a quiet drink.
It is in an ideal location to visit everywhere on the island. This is a highly recommended site at a reasonable price with no hidden extras.
