This is the second time we have visited this site in two years and the kids are begging us to return again next year.
The site is clean, friendly and well organised. Small club house and bar, just enough to keep you entertained without it being too comercial or noisy. Lovely clean outdoor pool, very refreshing on a hot day. Small cafe and shop open at selected times throughout the day. Showers clean but sometimes lack a good flow of hot water when toilets are flushed. It normally only takes a few seconds to return to normal though.
The site is very well situated for Ventnor, Shanklin and Sandown beaches but then again, everywhere is near on the Isle of Wight. There is a lovely walk across the fields behind the site to Godshill which only takes about 35 mins. Also a lovely walk to Worsley Obelisk which you can see perched on the hill behind the site.
If the kids have anything to do with it we will be returning for our third time next year and taking along the grandparents and aunts and uncles too this time. There are static caravans and apartments in a walled garden on the site too which makes it perfect for those non-campers amongst the family members.

My wife and I used this site as part of a Red Funnel 'deal' This is an brilliantly run family site and very friendly. The toilet/shower blocks were always clean with plenty of hot water and the heated pool was popular, and in a lovely sheltered spot where you could use the sun loungers all day if you like. The shop had all the essentials and the Club bar was a welcome evening rendezvous for families. The Island buses stop almost outside the site and access the whole Island.I would recommend this site and in deed hope to go back in September this year. Ps,we are pensioners and took advantage of the National bus pass

Have just returned from a weeks camping. I cant really add anything new - the pitches are large (which is good for the Harford XL tent) the toilet blocks were clean, the shop opens a couple of times a day and the setting is perfect. The only downside, other than the weather, was that the showers still had issues with temperature/pressure despite earlier post stating that new pumps had been installed. This is a peaceful campsite that allows you to access the rest of the IoW easily. Well worth visiting.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday to the Isle of Wight where we spent 5 nights at this lovely site. We arrived with two caravans and the staff were very kind in allowing us to pitch close together. Also, my father was quite ill when we arrived and the staff showed great concern, they could not have been more helpful even offering to get a doctor out to us! A special mention to the gentleman that showed us to our pitch (sorry we didn't catch your name) for helping us to level up. The staff are always on hand and the site is clean tidy and well kept. We will definitely be back again next year. Thank you very much!

We just returned from Appledurcombe and found the site to be very clean and well maintained. The showers were nice, clean and modern. We did on a couple of occasions have no hot water for a shower but they installed a new pump so hopefully this is resolved now. The pitches are large and nice and grassy. We paid a deposit for the disabled bathroom key which meant we had a bath for our two under 5's making life much easier at bathtime. Loved the meadow area for a quiet walk and play away from the other units. Only used the pool once bit chilly for the younger ones but others enjoyed it. Handy take- away with friendly chefs. Would we return yes, definitely.

Nice quiet site with lovely walks all around. The shop wasn't open (out of season) but it's only a few minutes drive to Morrisons at Lake or small local shops closer in Wroxall so no problems there.
Staff on hand at all times for any problems, like when there was no hot water in the showers, it was all sorted out quickly and back in action!
The only thing I would say is that we were on one of the centre greens and we did need chocks under the wheels to level us.
What else can you say that hasn't been said already?

This was our first family holiday on the Isle of Wight - had a really great time!
Very impressed with Appuldurcombe - friendly well kept site, clean caravan and pool (heated), also quiet in the evening.
The static caravans are located in a pleasant car free walled area (former orchard) and good beaches / attractions are nearby.
Lots to do in the area and on the Island in general.
The only minor criticism would be the lack of different types of recycle bins as found overseas.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at this lovely site and agree with much of the feed back already left. I went with my husband and 2 boys aged 14 and 11. We are keen cyclists and found there to be lots of great cycle routes just off the site. It is on the sunshine trail a 12 mile circular route taking in Shanklin and Sandown. We found that you could also take part of this route from the site, then cycle to Newport along a disused railway. Godshill is a lovely walk away over the fields, but there are many walks off the site signposted.
The site is relatively quiet and although there is a bar we found it did not effect the noise level of the site. The best pitches, we felt are around the perimeter. We were on 95, but 97 looked huge, as did 11. We did not get the sun until about midday but then had it all day. The croissants and fresh bread could be pre ordered and were lovely. It is a very central location so everywhere is easy to get to and we found lots to do, and indeed feel that there is still more to be done so another visit is a must for us. The staff are all friendly and helpful and we did not encounter any problems.
The only very minor negative (just to give a balanced view) there are only 3 female toilets and 4 showers. Sometimes the queues were quite long and when you did get in the hot water was cold. I found it better to shower early evening and then they were empty. They were however, very clean and modern with plenty of space.
St Helens was a great beach to crab on, Sandown good fun for the arcade and plenty of space to the right of the pier. A really good family holiday on a really good site, and probably one of our favourites, good pool, good location and nice cared for pitches!

This was our first camping trip as a family and as I came to this site every year for 10 years in a row when I was a child, decided to see what it was like now. Perfect for families with the play area, pool and also the large field to run around in. Not too noisy as the bar closed at 11pm. Shower units were always clean and even in the height of season we never had to wait for one. Would definitely return as a perfect location for seeing the whole island. Just as I remembered it wonderful, a whole new set of memories. We went to both Sandown Beach and Compton Bay and our children of 5 and 7 were in their element at both.

Just returned from visiting this site for the first time. We booked this site based on the reviews on here so thought it only fair to submit a review in return. The site was very clean and well run. Toilet blocks were spotless and good strong, hot showers. Small shop open at selected times of day. Cafe open for breakfast and evening meals during peak season. Small well run bar and clubhouse with entertainment in the evening for all ages. Lovely swimming pool, sun terrace surrounding it and grassy area with picnic tables nearby too. The site is well situated for visiting most of the island but nearest to Godshill, Ventnor and Shanklin. We even managed a lovely walk across the public footpaths to Godshill in the evening which only took half an hour. A lovely site for all ages, especially as they have static caravans and lodges on the site too for those who would rather not camp. I would recommend and we intend to revisit next year.
