We found this site to be very clean and tidy. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The location is ideal for touring the island and also there are many walks from just outside the park.
The toilet and shower blocks were both 1st class hot water and plenty of showers and toilets.
We visited the bar on site most nights except sunday as it did not open???? but there was always a warm welcome good beer. No entertainment whilst we were there but I suppose it was early season.
The pool looked inviting but the weather wasn't quite warm enough for me. On our last night we got a pizza from the cafe/take away it was delicious and reasonably priced.
If I was to complain it would be the list of do's and don'ts for dogs on the site made us quite nervous in case they had a little accident on site there is no dog walk on site but just outside the entrance there are plenty of places to walk your dog.
In Wroxall there is a lovely dog friendly pub the 4 seasons and they do great food to just a 15 mins walk away.

When we arrived the welcome was very very poor and it was only 1430 in the afternoon! We had booked a package with Red Funnel and at the time of booking ask to have a pitch in the meadow and we were told that we would have to pay three pounds extra per night.
So when we arrived we were told that the meadow was to wet and they gave us a pitch near the entrance.
We have a friend on the Island and she told us that they had not had much rain and she is only three miles from the site!
Motorhomes/Campervans/Caravans all were going past us to the Meadow, So was it because we have two dogs?
Overall nice site, clean toilets and showers, But staff not polite or friendly. And the site is not DOG friendly

We arrived on a red funnel package which was great value. The site was beautiful and the toilet/shower block to die for. The reception staff left a lot to be desired although when we went back the following day after having misunderstood her instructions we were not asked to move. The shop opening times were unhelpful if you needed anything on arrival after 10am and when we asked for any bread other than a thick white sliced we were told this was all they stocked until full season. Luckily supermarkets were available quite near. The site was quite good for English Heritage and National Trust places and we were really impressed by the sites cleanliness and the pleasant surroundings.

This is our 3rd visit to this site. Very impressed with the new toilet block ( wish they had thought of putting some sinks in with toilets though! Good for a quick wash when a shower isn't required) toilets always very clean and warm. Loved the new landscaping since we last visited too. We camped at the opposite end to club and playground this time as we found it a bit noisy last time in August. Had a great time, my son was never out of the pool, even when it rained! Best site on the Isle of Wight, we will be back, hopefully without so much rain next time!

Excellent site. Good layout well cared for. Excellent toilet/shower block kept well cleaned.
We camped on Bluebell Meadow by the stream on a hard standing.
The pitches are a good size but open, you would not want to fall out with your neighbour.
The toilet block was close by, modern and no shortage of hot water. I didn't spot any shaver points should you need one. I noted there was one larger family room. In a really busy period there could be some queuing I would say. My wife noted you would need a minimum of 2x20p to dry your hair.
We only used the natural facilities in the evening being lucky enough to be able to sit out and watch birds then bats. This was lucky as day time weather was middling at best.
Local to Shanklin, Sandown and Godshill, but nowhere is far from anywhere on the IOW. For me you must see the IOW Steam Railway, but in May it is not open everyday.

We booked this site again as we had such a great time there last year. The site is very well laid out, clean and tidy, the NEW toilet block is a work of art and kept very clean.
Although we turned up early on the Saturday morning they let us onto the site without a any hassle.
We were able to pick the same pitch on Meadow crocus field next to the stream as last year.
Should be back there again next year.

Large campsite plenty of pitches, we where in the far field which was very quiet, ground was hard need good tent pegs, toilets very clean, never had to que, showers slightly on the cool side, the site was kept clean and tidy all times, freezer block facility, 10p. Never used any other facility's Appuldurcombe House is a short walk away but we found it not worth the visit as it is just a shell
All in all a well placed site would revisit.

This was our first visit, the site had arranged the ferry booking, and amended it for us, extremely helpful.
We visited with friends, all together we were 3 adults 3 14/15 year olds and a 6 year old. The site offered something for all. We were impressed by the pool, open from 8am till 9pm, the kids came and went as they pleased.
Lots to do on the island, this was our 4th visit in 10years.
We had two grass pitches adjacent to each other with a caravan and large 6 man tent and managed to create ourselves. A great space, we were in the far end of the site, which I think was better, the pitches nearer to the club/entrance appeared small and over crowded.
The new shower block was excellent although at times other campers weren't doing their bit (cleaning after themselves). Just as we began to feel the showers were ready for a jet wash, hay ho and it was done
The pot wash was outdoor and well set up with a covered area
The older shower block was clean and modern, just smaller
We didn't eat on site but others did and said it was good
We only used the club a couple of nights, the youngest wanted to watch the magician ett, usual cheesy kids type stuff, but to be expected, the kids dj was a stand in, and actually really good, got them playing games
One point would be, put a smaller play area at the far end of the site, however they may be trying to keep that end quieter
Also we knew people who had asked to stay extra weeks, and told they couldn't as the site was full, it wasn't there were lots of empty pitches. A very strange way to run a business
A great site which I would recommend, many people return year after year, we met some really nice people and had a great holiday.

We stayed for 18 nights with our boys who are 5, 6 and 7. We had such a lovely time that we have already booked for 18 nights again next summer.
The campsite is really well looked after by the friendly team, grass kept short, bins emptied throughout the day and the shower locks are lovely and clean. The new block is super.
Kids loved the play park and the football pitch and were able to ride their bicycles around the site.
The shop is reasonably priced and well stocked and the lady who runs the shop is the friendliest person I've ever had the pleasure to meet.
Didn't use the cafe on site but heard good reports, the swimming pool is great and stays open until 9pm which is brilliant after a day out. Clubhouse has usual entertainment for the kids and a reggae singer once a week who was terrific.
The island has so much to offer, especially for families. Make sure you visit Blackgang Chine, the park in Sandown for hours of free fun, the steam railway, the Ventnor botanical gardens are nice for a walk, fabulous beaches at Ryde, Ventor, Sandown and Yaverland.
Good family friendly pubs nearby with outdoor play are White Lion in Niton, Fighting Cocks near Arreton and Wight Mouse Inn, Chale. Good value, tasty, home cooked food. Enjoy.

Just returned from 17 night stay. Stayed at this site last year and previously reviewed. This time we were on a pitch further away from the play area and it was quiet.
New shower/toilet facilities have been built that were fantastic. Never had to queue always hot water available and very clean.
We used the pool every day - the kids loved it. Isle of wight is a great holiday location, lots of things to do.
Would highly recommend this fantastic site and will definitely visit again.
