We had a week on this site. The toilet block was clean, never had to queue, always plenty of hot water.
Pitches are a good size, though some were more level than others. Good drainage on site, as we did have heavy rain but never any problems. Site felt quite sheltered from the wind.
Pool was good, we didn't use bar or cafe, but did take advantage of shop for milk & newspapers. Site felt safe, never too many cars driving round, happy to let our 5 year old roam on his bike.
This was definitely a site for families, with several large groups. Most nights went quiet as it got dark, but a couple of nights had loud music/singing until about 11pm from 1 particular unit. There was no warden on site that late.
Location good for Ventnor, Shanklin etc, but not so convenient for the West of the island. We would look elsewhere if we wanted to do more on that side of the island next time.

We had originally planned to pitch a tent on site, but changed our mind and went for the simpler approach of renting a static for 4 nights. We stayed in one of the Boniface caravans which was more or less perfect for us - very clean, good living space and three bedrooms so we could give our two kids their own space. The kitchen area was well equipped, with plenty of pans, crockery, glasses, etc.
Our welcome upon arrival was very friendly. As it was our first stay, we were given a good run down of where everything was and what times the shop, takeaway and bar opened. We were then taken to our caravan and briefly shown around, before being left to our own devices. Parking is away from the caravans, but trolleys are provided to transport your luggage.
The campsite is very clean and well maintained. Grass is nicely clipped, bushes well trimmed. There are plenty of bins around and no litter.
We had a great time on site - the pool well maintained (you may be sensing a theme here…) and of a pleasant temperature. The only downside is that it gets very busy from mid afternoon onwards, which was off putting for our kids who aren't yet strong swimmers.
Evening entertainments are what you would expect - kids discos, bingo, etc. Not really my cup of tea but the children enjoyed bopping away to a variety of upbeat tunes!
Check out time was 10am, which seemed reasonable and was straightforward. We had one issue along the way when the boiler stopped working. We had a visit from the maintenance man within 15 minutes and the issue was resolved within another 10.
Bearing in mind that we had originally fancied camping, I did have a nosy at the wash blocks. They were clean and modern with plenty of shower cubicles. I would be happy to use them in the future.
All in all - great camp site that we will return to!

We have just retuned from spending a week at this site and would highly recommended it. The pitches were a good size and fairly level. The toilet and shower blocks were spotless. The site is very well maintained and the staff were very friendly. The pool and cafe on site were very good. We would recommend the site to friends and would visit again.

We booked for May half term and had a lovely holiday despite the weather. Ladies in the reception area are lovely and gave us a choice of pitches on arrival due to the arrival of another unit the following day. We pitched in a huge downpour, drainage was good! Only puddles on gravel roads around site, but these had soon drained away. Facilities excellent, showers hot, but water pressure not that fantastic (would not put us of re-visiting). We didn't use the club-house/pool during our stay but the kids did love the park. We had a very bad night weather wise (high winds and very heavy rain) during the stay but again drainage was good (shame about the state of the tent the morning after!) and as it is in a valley, never felt in any danger of tent blowing away! Was surprised at how quiet the site was (but that again, could have been due to the weather!) all in all a lovely short break. If we visited the Isle of Wight again, we would come here to stay.

We wanted to revisit the Isle of Wight after 4 years and this was the first time we had camped on the island and decided to stay here because we love the area.
The site is positioned in a beautiful part of the island with lots of room for the children to explore and play. The reception we received on arrival was great with lots of information on where to go and what to do. We had our VW camper with a tarp shelter and small tent and because the pitches were really roomy and flat it accommodated us well without feeling on top of the neighbours.
The facilities - shower and washing up block looked new and was the best we had ever used! Lots of hot water and great showers.
There are red squirrels to be seen on site and some rather large fish in the stream running through.
Would definitely recommend this site.

We have just returned from Appuldurcombe and cant wait to return.
The site was clean and tidy, with superb toilet/shower facilities. Always clean and well stocked.
Our son enjoyed playing in the park and using the outdoor swimming pool late into the evening. There as also a small crazy golf course which was free to use.
We didn't use the takeaway, but the food smelt lovely, only thing I would criticise are the opening times for the shop/takeaway, it would have been nice to be able to get something in the middle of the day while relaxing by the pool.
The clubhouse provided entertainment and was reasonably priced, and you could hardly hear people leaving at the end of the night.
The site is well positioned for local attractions, the islend is small so nowhere is too far away.
The shop stockd the basics, and was reasonably priced. The staff were all polite and friendly too.
The pitches were of a good size and altough we arrived in a heavy downpoor the ground was well drained.

Fantastic site! Spent 5 nights with the Red Funnel offer and was excellent value.
The site itself is is very pretty and is very well sectioned for camping and caravanning. The pitch sizes are more than ample and quite flat. The site is quite a quiet site but people were still out and about around 11, but thoughtfully quite.
There is a medium outdoor pool which was great after the heat of the day and was open until 9:00p. M.
The clubhouse, we didn't use so can't really comment.
La piece de resistance is their shower block! Absolutely 5*! It is like walking into a hotel. Usually my OH has to wait for me in the cold/rain whatever, but could stand inside in the warm lobby - a definite plus. The showers and shower area are absolutely spotless and bright. The shower is a push system which some people seem to have difficulty with - personally I find it's no problem (and I do have long hair to wash) - all you have to do is push it 3-4 times and it gives out 3-4 times more water There's a bigger shower for families (there is a separate entrance for disabled showers) The toilets were again spotless and had a fascinating loo roll system that contained 3 toilet rolls and as one emptied another dropped into place! My only gripe, which is only minor, is that there is no separate enclosed sink cubicle, so you clean your teeth whilst people are washing their hands for example.
Morrisons is about 20 mins away and there is a an Aldi and a Lidl on the island. There is a local Spa about 5 mins from campsite for more immediate needs (and not badly priced!)
Loads to see on the island, Ventnor and Shanklin only a few minutes away and believe this or believe this not - we never paid for parking anywhere - a plus in anyones books!

A fantastic site! The on site facilities are all second to none for a small friendly site. The heated pool was warm, the toilet block was clean, warm and so plush my kids referred to it as 'the spa', the pitches are a good size and the staff were friendly and helpful. The café sells good home cooked food at fair prices.
The weather was not great but with all the attractions on the Isle of Wight it was not a problem.
We will be back

Just spent 2 nights here, very helpful and friendly staff, fantastic countryside, best toilet block we have ever used. Enjoyed a most pleasurable, if strenuous walk over Appuldurcombe and Stenbury downs, breath-taking views of The Isle of Wight, you can see The Needles, Culver Cliff, and The Spinnaker Tower. Ended our walk in the quaint town of Ventnor and retuned to campsite on one of the frequently run buses. Jewel in the crown for my wife and I was the local pub, The Four Seasons, made to feel very welcome by both the Landlady and the locals, great food at reasonable prices! We will definitely be back.

Dropped on the idea of a 5 day break at Appuldurcombe, booked via Red Funnel, as we haven't visited the Isle for several years.
It's perhaps difficult to review this site fully, as we were probably the last users of the season and had the entire site to ourselves!
The site seemed quite spacious and has excellent (if not the best I've encountered) shower and toilet block facilities, which is clearly a fairly new build. There's a pleasant brook that runs through the bottom of the site, which is also nicely landscaped as a whole. The only negative point might be that a stretch of the site backs on to a few residential houses (only just beyond the brook) that aren't fenced from view, so some visitors could feel 'over looked' by the locals.
The main access road could prove challenging to some tourers, especially in peak season, however the site is slightly off the beaten track and well positioned for touring the whole island from.
Site facilities were closed due to the time we visited, so can't review (hence 7/10 rating).
The town itself isn't 'touristy', although there are plenty of good (dog friendly) pubs nearby, but nearest decent supermarket is in Newport, approx 12-15mins drive.
All-in-all, a nice relaxing and well cared for site, one which I'd happily return to.
