Just got back from a great long weekend at this site. When we booked we thought it was a little on the pricey side but on arriving realised it was well worth the extra money.
The site was well looked after and the staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were more than ample and very clean. All in all I would recommend this site and we will be going back for another visit.

Spent May bank holiday here, it was the first time we have camped as a family so we hadn't experienced a lot of sites, but this one was really lovely. It had great access straight out into the National Park.

Pitches were more than adequate, lots of trees surrounding so very sheltered, toilets clean, showers hot.

Will visit again!

The toilet block, reception/shop, dish washing sinks and laundrette are in a single courtyard with the shower block was just behind them. Toilet block and showers where clean and are 20p for 6 minutes with one cubical taking 50p for 8 minutes. There were plenty of loos to use with no queuing needed. The washing up area is the main courtyard and had plenty of hot water. There are only two sinks so unless you can time it right a bit of queue takes place. There is a £5.00 deposit required to get the key (one per tent/family) that allows you into the showers, toilets and laundrette.

The site had 3 food bins as wells as recycling bins for paper, glass and tins. There was a dog walking path on site as well as a play ground with a climbing frame for the children. A ballgames field is also provided.

As previously mentioned in other reviews there is a very narrow lane for about half a mile leading to the site, but if you follow the owner’s advice and leave before 12 noon and arrive after 12.30pm then you shouldn’t meet another vehicle coming in the same direction as you.

The site is well situated, 2 miles from Grassington and the Yorkshire Dales Way, 7 miles to Kettlewell and the scarecrow festival and 6 miles to Skipton with its market on a Saturday. Bolton Abbey is not far with its ruined priory and Steam Railway.

Overall this site is very welcoming and has walks direct from the site, we never used the car all weekend.Recommended.

Camping with two small children age 3 and 6 in a tent with no electrics in April was a great success, largely due to the site, location, staff and the great weather for the time of year.

It's a quaint family run site in an unspoilt scenic location in the heart of the Yorkshire dales.

The site is no frills but has all the facilities you would require i.E. Showers, hairdryers, laundry, wash room facilities with private cubicles, shop, playground etc.

The toilets and showers were very clean and the shop stocked all the basics you would require.

The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The pitches were well spaced and there is some lovely country walks starting at the site.

Lots to do out and about and close to picturesque Grassington and Skipton. We will certainly be back

I loved this site! allocated pitches with plenty of space, you can choose your own. Clean showers, separate from the loos and private wash cubicles. Small but fairly well stocked shop with friendly owners. Small playground for the kids with a separate ball field.
Little river running next to the site which kept the kids happy for hours. The main attraction for my boys was the hot chocolate vending machine! will be returning as soon as possible (if it ever stops raining!)

After the summer[or lack of]that we've had the ground was very wet, but the friendly owner gave us a really good pitch was about the driest on the site.

The facilities are basic but do need modernising that said all facilities were clean and worked.

It is a good base to explore the area whether walking, cycling etc. The local village of threshfield about 20 mins walk away has a good pub with tremendous food. This site is good for those with kids, there is a large field for ball games which means no football near any tents which is a good idea.

 Style of Stay: Camping

Length of Say: 4 nights

Weather: Dry days, wet nights.

This is the first time I'd been camping for 12 years (last time was as a DoE'er) and I was pleasantly surprised at the facilities available, the cleanliness of them and the opening welcome we got from the owners.

The owners of the camp site had us and 5 other family groups pitching in the field normally used for ball games as, due to the wet weather, he hadn’t been able to cut the grass in the main tenting field. As we where not in the normally field there wasn’t a decent level area anywhere to pitch the tent and the sceptic tank was also in the field, which causes a few smelly mornings when the wind died down or blew the wrong way. Apart from these two small points the ground was clean, with good depth of soil for hammering in the tent pegs and well drained. The well drainage of the field was handy as we had torrential rain one night.

The toilet block, reception/shop, dish washing sinks and laundrette where in a single courtyard at the top of the camping fields and the shower block was just behind them. Toilet block and showers where spotless and although the floor tiles look old in the shower block where water tight. The showers are 20p for 6 minutes with one cubical taking 50p for 8 minutes. There were plenty of loos to use with no queuing needed. The washing up area is the main courtyard and had plenty of hot water. There are only two sinks so unless you can time it right a bit of queue takes place in the morning. The shops opening times was perfectly aimed 9-11 am and 16.30 to18.00, it was well stocked with snacks, bread, water, fizzy drinks, home made cakes and cookies, beer and wine. It also sold a few camping essentials such as lights/matches, insect replant and plasters.

If we hadn’t been camping in the ballgames field then there would have been a field for this as well.

Overall this site is very welcoming to first time campers such as myself and the only downside was having to camp on a slope near the sceptic tank, but as mentioned above was not the main tenting field, which was flatter, however the view from this ballgames field overcame the fact that we where on a slope. Overall I would give this campsite 7 out of 10. (Lost one point for being placed next to sceptic tank, one point for having to camp on slope, one point for not mowing the main field!), but otherwise an excellent site and highly recommended.

A spacious campsite, with each pitch being separately roped off although not all pitches are level. A lovely rural location, with Grassington being approx 30 min walk away. Facilities were good with scrumptious homemade cakes at the shop. All campers receive a welcome pack including free token for the hot chocolate machine! Certainly worth another visit.

Our first night camping with 2 and 4 year olds. We turned up on spec without knowing a thing about the site and luckily for us took a cancellation - on looking around we felt blessed to land this site as our first!
Charming caravan and camping park in beautiful surroundings - away from road so no overnight traffic noise. Camped next to field of sheep, loved by my children and also by me! Sufficient space between pitches (I have nothing to compare it with!).
Path runs through camping field for car access - this did not cause any problem with my toddler and 4 year old running around. Location of ball / play field away from tent field, could be accessed safely by my confident 4 year old (with me following after!) Children's playground a useful diversion.
Seperate dog walking field - saw no dog mess any where on rest of site. Immaculate facilities - ladies toilets great. Showers in seperate block so can be a bit awkward but we worked around it. Only giving one key for the facilities caused a bit more inconvenience (they might have more?). Lovely courtyard with toilets, laundry, shop, reception, washing up sinks. Friendly and helpful staff (thanks Val).
All in all a pleasurable experience albeit a short one, we'll definitely book and return.

Quiet site in lovely location. Laid back owners. Access to site restricted for 600 yds - but

Follow owners requirements for leaving site before 12 noon and not arriving before 12.30 to prevent problems on lane. Most pitches slope - so blocks are required. Toilets / shower very dated and requires refurbishment, and are at the reception which is a hike if you are at the outer area of site.

Footpath runs through site with lots of ‘DoE’ kid’s using this route during our stay. They were camping in the adjoining site (not Wood Nook) which was noisy during the Saturday evening. Plenty of walks directly from this site.
