We stayed one night during which it rained pretty much none stop. The tent field was nice and well laid out with plenty of room.
The kids liked the look of the playground although it was too wet to use. The toilets and showers were very clean and fresh smelling!
The only down point for me was how far away they were from the tent field. There was a ball games field but again we did not see this due to the weather.
There was a covered BBQ area which is a great idea. The camp site is a mile from Threshfield which had a nice pub where we enjoyed a nice meal. It was a bit too far for us to walk in the evening with a 2 year old.

We stayed at this campsite Jubilee weekend and have to say it was absolutely fantastic. The owners are very helpful, the site is clean, the facilities are good nice and clean the owners were always in and out making sure they was kept clean. The campsite itself not too big either which is what I tend to go for when camping.
My children who are aged 7 and 11 loved it. It has a playground which all the children hung out at so there was enough for them to do and make some friends.
While we was there we used it as a base as Grassington is just a mile away if you want a town. If not there is plenty to do here we will definitely return over the summer.

We spent a lovely week here during the last week of June. Campsite was very quiet during the week (only 3 or 4 other pitches taken) but busy at the weekend. It had been very wet and was very wet during our stay and the farmer did his best to keep the tent field from getting waterlogged. However, despite the heavy rain, we loved it here. Very peaceful, very pretty location and the site was lovely and well looked after. The family that run this site are very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Toilets were clean and spotless and there are sinks in cubicles for washing - well, there were in the ladies. Good washing up facilities and although the showers were older, I always managed a very hot shower everytime I used them so I am a little surprised by the comments of others. (Or maybe there is a lucky shower - in which case, it's the first one facing you on the far wall as you walk in!)
The dog walk was lovely with a huge amount of bird life - we did this 2 or 3 times (without a dog!) and the shop does stock a few basics. On the edge of the tent field there is an opensided barn used as a BBQ area with picnic benches. This is particularly useful if you are touring on cycles or have a tiny tent as it gives you somewhere to cook, eat and sit out of the rain. The farmer was trying to hook up TV so campers could watch the Olympics later on.
The Yorkshire Dales are stunning and we had some lovely day trips out, though one of our best afternoons was when we carried on driving up the narrow road past the campsite to Malham Moor, the road just peters out after a couple of miles. The scenery is stark and wild and we were caught in torrential rain as a heavy thunderstorm struck!
One word of warning, there were a huge amount of midges in the evening so take plenty of insect repellent. It stopped us sitting outside the tent in the evening and forced us to sample the local pubs in Grassington - there's a good selection, though we really liked 'The Forester's Arms' which also did good food.

Had a great stay at Wood Nook, the owners very helpful and friendly.
Toilets and showers were very clean at all times plenty of hot water. Small shop but provided what you needed was very impressed they managed to get the Racing Post paper for my husband.
Fantastic walks surrounding the site with good views.
Pitches were spacious, and plenty of water points at hand.
Good dog walking area was a little wet but to be expected with all the rain they had before our visit. Only down side no doggy bins.
Will definitely go back, and stay longer next time and would like pitch 3 again.

Our visit to Wood Nook was very last minute (as in we only decided to go camping the night before!)
We followed the directions given on the website as advised and found it without any problems, the lane leading up to the site is very narrow with a few passing points and the site itself is clearly signposted.
Opon our arrival, we checked in at the main desk and were given a key for the toilets and shower block and we were told we could settle the bill once we were sorted.
There are two fields, one for caravans and tents with electric hook up and one for tents with no electric. The pitches themselves are a good size, well marked out and numbered.
We were allocated a spot towards the bottom end of the field, we pitched an 8+4 tent and parked an Audi A4 estate on ours without any problems. The site was busy but we did not feel crowded.
The ground has good drainage and this did pose a small problem when trying to peg the tent down, but the mallet and a bit of elbow grease soon sorted it out.
The on site shop had the basic essentials and the owners were very helpful in pointing you in the right direction if they didn't have what you needed.
As our trip was very last minute, we forgot the dog food. There is a Spar shop in nearby Grassington and a Tescos (with garage) in Skipton which is a little bit further away. Skipton also has a market which seemed to be there everyday and sells almost everything.
The toilets and shower block were always immaculate which I was amazed at given that it rained for 3 out of the 4 days we stayed. Showers are free and we didn't queue once, but the water temperature can be touch and go. We persevered with it and did get a nice hot shower in the end.
There is also a games field and a play area which our two children (aged 10 and 6) thoroughly enjoyed and they quickly made friends. There is also a separate dog walking area but we did not see any bins to put the dogs mess in. There are normal household bins and recyling is also encouraged. BBQ's are allowed, but you must ensure they're raised off the grass and slabs/bricks are available to use.
There is a lovely walk up into the hills from the top of the EHU field, but beware of the sheep roaming freely.
We had no mobile phone signal while we were there (which to be honest was quite nice for a few days) but there is a payphone on site and we regained the signal on our mobiles on the way in to Skipton.
I would advise that you take insect repellent (citronella/Jungle Juice) with you as the three adults in our party were bitten to death by midgies (or midgets as our 10yr old calls them!)
All in all, it is a lovely site, the owners are very friendly and will help in any way they can. We would definitely visit again.

First visit - camping. Very friendly and helpful welcome.
Facilities very good, no. 20ps for shower or washing up. Liked the way the pitches had been separated, gave us plenty of room.
Toilets and showers very clean. Good central Dales location between Malham and Grassington.
Nice walks from site (eg up to Mastiles Lane).
One slight con - thought basic pitch price for a tent was slightly expensive (by a £1 or £2).
Coffee machine and laundrette available. Small shop on site - covers basics (including wine!).
Overall recommended.

We have just come back from a lovely seven night stay here. The surroundings are very picturesque and it is a very well situated site for access to the Yorkshire Dales.
Grassington is a delightful little village. We visited the the Worth Valley steam trains, Forbidden Corner, Lightwater Valley and took a day trip to York. My daughter also went on a lovely pony trek from a nearby riding centre.
When we were there the site was quite busy. The toilet block and shower facilities were spotlessly clean and well maintained. The water was HOT!
The site owner provided us with a nice level pitch with EHU (we did have to book in advance for this) and was very helpful with everything. Most of the pitches have a slight slope but in fairness this is the Yorkshire Dales so it would be unrealistic to expect bowling greens!
On our stay there were a lot of families with young kids. There is a dedicated field for ball games and also a play area so the kids were well provided for. The general noise level did quieten down around 10-11 pm which was good. Site rules/notices etc were kept to a necessary minimum without being 'over regimented'.
I think we would stay there again.

Just spent 4 days at this lovely site, well equipped, friendly helpful owners, and wonderful walking country. Oonly downside is if electric hookup needed with a tent, pitches are on fine gravel which is not ideal. While there we rebooked for August bank holiday for the grassed area for tents, as it looked absolutely perfect with wonderful views, and large pitches, well worth doing without the hookup. There is a small shop on site for all the basic essentials and newspapers can be ordered. Also there is a spar shop and butchers in Grassington. Would highly recommend.

Just spent a lovely weekend here.
Facilities were really clean. Water pressure in showers was a bit hit and miss. Shop was well stocked with basics and owners were very friendly and helpful.
Pitches were marked out with plenty of room for our tent and car. Our pitch was ok but some are on a slope so would have been disappointed if we'd been allocated one of these.
There was a separate field for kids to play ball games and a children's play area.
Grassington and Linton falls is within easy walking distance with a nice pub along the way in Threshfield which has a large beer garden and kids play area.
Would definitely go back and recommend this site.

Had a very pleasant stay at this site with friends. Have to say the final approach to it is a bit daunting, as it is very narrow, with few passing places.
The bloke on reception was very helpful with explaining what was what around the site, and gave us a menu for the local Indian which we enquired about. There was also a small shop, but we never went in.
We were pitched on the 'higher' section of two areas. The lower one being half taken by Statics. It seemed few of the pitches on this area - mostly (all?) being hardstanding, were level. With a number running out in two directions. The pitches themselves were a decent size though.
Once set up, we found it a very quiet site. OK, there were a number of the seasonal vans + the statics empty, but I still got the impression it would be tranquil most times. There is, however, a kids play area, so maybe it gets its fair share of families, which by definition are rarely 'quiet'. Given its location, its surrounded by all kinds of wildlife - with the noises that come with them.
The loo/showers, accessed by key, were very clean and usable, albeit a bit of a trek if you weren't fully fit - especially after dark as there are few lights on sight. This is an observation, not a criticism though, as who wants to be next to a loo block!
One thing that could be problematical at busy periods was the water point for this particular section, if you are in motorhome. As its sited right at the narrow entrance, you cant do anything but block the road as you fill up. This is obviously something not thought through when siting this point - which also does the grey and chemical waste. Although, the 'problem', only arises with a motorhome.
We found the site very handy for walks to places such as Grassington and Linton Falls. But there's walks in all directions from here.
We paid £19 a night for the unit + two of us, which I initially though a bit pricy (never checked the rates before booking. Note to self.) But, after weighing it all up; the peace, location, quality of facilities etc. Maybe it wasn't so bad. The slopes on some of the aforementioned pitches are the real downer here, if there is one.
We'll certainly go back, and would recommend Wood Nook to anyone.
